Chapter 68: Chapter 68

It’s been a week since the night when Reign claimed me. After that day, we did things that the average couple does. We spend the days together, keeping the opportunity to know each other deeper.

I wanted to open up about the photo I saw in Reign’s drawer and on the phone Thraia gave me, but I didn’t get the courage to ask him. I was hesitant about how to initiate that topic.

Within a week, I learned a lot about Reign, but I felt like it was lacking and less than halfway through. I don’t know what else my mind is looking for about Reign. Other than that, I still couldn’t believe I handed the flag of virginity to him.

On the night where Reign got me whole, I really don’t know why I couldn’t stop him. What happened that night suddenly entered my mind causing me to blush and be nervous. For a week, my mind tortured me of that scene. My chest was in turmoil every time I remembered that night.

I looked at the part below my navel and immediately felt something strange on it as Reign’s face entered my mind. I feel like I’m going crazy. I still think how Reign and I become one on that one unexpected night. Even though it only happened once, I don’t know why this affects my mind and body. I feel like I want us to do that thing again.

“When did you start thinking like that, Ruchee!” I snapped myself out of that unbelievable thought. I just couldn’t help but smile as I remembered our exchange of Reign’s words.

Everything was too fast. Within a few months, I fell in love with him, and he took over my whole body. It all happened contrary to my wishes. Before I met Reign and entered this island, I always asked and pray to give up my dignity from someone I was married to, but those were not fulfilled.

Even though I have no regrets, I gave Reign to someone I hadn’t met in a long time. But it’s not the duration that matters; it’s how you feel for each other.

“Ruru!” I turned around with surprise as my hands gently gripping my chest that was furiously beating, “I’ve been calling you, Ruru. You’re ignoring me. I thought you hated me. What are you thinking?” Russiana moaned sadly as her fingers pressed against the front of her stomach.

I was standing outside the guest room. I was about to fetch Russia and take her to the dining hall since it’s already dinner time, but I wasn’t aware because my mind was floating in the distance, even her approach to me. Is that really how deep I was thinking? Thoughts are full of the thing that shames me!

“I’m sorry, sweety. Don’t be sad,” I sat up quickly but just right to match my sister’s height. I reached for her hands in front of her stomach and gently squeeze them, “Ruru doesn’t hate you, okay? You know that I love you more than anything and anyone, right?”

“More than Reign?” Russiana asked while pouting her lips. I was surprised and did not answer for a second. Where did she get that?

“Yes. More than Reign.”

“That hurts, Ruchee.”

I looked behind me again with shock plastered on my face. I saw Reign walking up from the stairs. My God, how many times have I been surprised at this time! Did these two talk to do this thing to me?

“Rere said that you love him more than me. Is that true, Ruru?” I turned my eyes again in front of where my sister was standing. That ‘Rere’ thing again.

“No. I love you more than anything.”

“Is that true?”

“Yes, sweety.”

Russiana smiled and then hugged me tight, “I love you, Ruru.”

“I love you too, sweety,” I said in a soft voice and caressed Russiana’s hair, then planted gentle kisses on her forehead, “Your dress is beautiful,” I complimented when she pulled off the hug.

“I was jealous, but I forgot that you are already mine. Completely,” Reign said, emphasizing the last words. I didn’t look back. My face was red from what he said. Although not directly but I know what he means by ‘completely.’

And what, jealous? I was exchanging love words with my sister in front of him, not with other people; still, he’ll be jealous? My God! Why did I fall in love with someone who is possessive enough, even towards my sister?

“What do you mean by completely, Rere?” My eyes widened on how my sister reacted to what Reign said. I heard Reign chuckles from my back. He was enjoying this event!

“Do you want to know, little Rus?” Reign asked, then heard his footsteps walking in our direction. The way he asked Russiana, he was implying something beyond the child’s mind. What is he trying to do?

“Yes. Your words made Ruru blush, so I want to know. Since I’m the only one who can make her flustered before,” this one has a sharp mind, God!

“Well, I wanted to tell you about something peculiar and amazing scene but,” Reign stopped next to me and immediately sat down to match Russiana’s height as well. I could feel him staring at me, but I didn’t look back, “I don’t want your big sister to hate me.”

What is Reign going to tell my sister? Peculiar and fantastic scene? What is he thinking?

“Why would my sister hate you? You said that she loves you the most, right? And what about peculiar? I love bizarre things! Can you spill that scene you are talking about, Rere?”

“No, it’s not good, little Rus. Maybe when you reached the exact age.”

“Why? I’m already a grown-up!”

“The peculiar and amazing scene I was talking about is how people get connected to each other. It was a linking of their opposite charms.”

“Linking of opposite charms?” I asked confusedly and then turned my gaze on Reign. I caught his blue eyes staring at me. I thought that he was talking to my sister?

“Oh, you are also interested in charms linkage? Let’s have a demonstration?” I couldn’t get what Reign was saying, but eventually, all of a sudden, my feeling heated up with embarrassment.

“What d--” Reign suddenly reached his arms and hugged us when the floor was continuously shaking after a thundering explosion followed again by another deafening explosion that echoed on my ears.

“Is it an earthquake?” Russiana asked, and there’s unstable in her voice.

No one answered, and I immediately looked at Reign as he held us in his arms. I don’t know, but his face was shocked, and I knew it wasn’t an earthquake because the floor was moving in after the loud explosion. I suddenly remembered what Maze had said. Is this what he is referring to?

Although I’m not sure, I already have a hint on what’s going on that makes my chest throb furiously. The floor eventually stopped moving, and the sound of the explosion disappeared. Reign slowly released us from his arms. I reached for Russiana and pulled her towards me while she hugged my hips.

“What’s happening?” I asked, trying not to panic. Reign looked at me with worries, and his blue eyes were a mess.

“I wasn’t expecting that it will happen so soon,” Reign mumbled. He was restless. I reached for his hand while my other hand was caressing Russiana’s hair, calming her down.

“Relax. What’s happening?” I asked again, trying to hide the fear in my voice. Reign stared at me. His mouth opened, and he was about to spit words, but a rushing footstep was heard from our back. We turned our heads in unison; it was Elliott, panting and holding his knees while gasping for air.

“What’s the situation?” I looked at Reign because his tone of voice changed. When I saw his expression, it’s already different from earlier when he was startled by the explosion, but now, his blue eyes are intense and ready to start bloodshed.

“It’s a raid from Gau Clan.”

Gau Clan?

Raid, a sudden attack from troops of the enemy? Reign suddenly holds my hands, and I can feel his overflowing sweat. He was nervous about what’s happening.

Another explosion was heard from where we are. Reign tightly held my waist, supporting me not to fall on the ground while Russiana was hugging my hips. Even if I can’t have the exact glimpse of the explosion, I know that it’s a sign that the dispute Maze was talking about is already happening.

We’ve been raid by Reign’s enemies.
