Chapter 13: Chapter 13
Lucas
I was already in the office. Aria took care of me cook, prepare my clothes, fix my tie, and hug me before I go.
I never thanked her for that.
I never experienced that with Chloe before. She will just wake up late then go shopping, calling me, reminding me, to buy new suits. She doesn't like repeating clothes or she will call me because of the bank checks that she already paid a lot. I didn't mind it before because she was my wife.
I am a dumb idiot for being like that.
I never listen to anyone before, unless it's Chloe.
There is something in Aria that I can't resist. I can't get her out of my mind.
She is living in my brain now. The way she took care of me. I appreciated it all. I am eating my words that all girls are gold diggers.
I still remember when I got drunk. I said hurtful things again and even broke my promise that I will have time for my son Luke.
I feel so sorry for her but how am I going to apologize? She didn't even say anything about what happened that day. The way she took care of me. I could feel the walls that I built in my heart were cracking.
I even caused her pain in her chest. I pushed a girl so hard. She was right that my office problems are in the office only and not to take that home.
She is fucking right.
She is the one who took care of my son.
She is the one who is a motherly figure that my son's needs.
She is wife material for me.
She is still in my mind.
She agreed to this marriage for money. She is a gold digger, right?
'Idiot, she has a debt that her father left.' My inner voice said in my mind.
I felt like there is a magnet that was sticking to us. My mind changes in another direction, making me want her and let her stay beside me.
A knock interrupted my thoughts. Sabrina said that my lovable little sister was here. I told her to let her in.
I heard the door opened and started hearing her stilettos that were clicking.
"How's my brother with her wife now?" She asked with a hint of sarcasm.
I looked at her and smirked.
"How are you, Lily and Mark?" I asked, changing the topic. I don't know how are we now.
She chuckled and said," We are fine."
She walked and took a seat on the couch.
"Good, You may now leave," I said, dismissing her. I don't want to talk right now.
"No, you didn't answer my question yet," she argued. "I am also here to remind you that I have plans for you and your family and you guys are going to join.” I huffed.
" I don't have a family. I only have Luke " I said but she just laughed at me.
"That's not my question."
"We are fine," I said boringly.
"No, you are, maybe, but Aria is not." She snapped and I groaned in irritation.
"Ana told me what happened when you got home drunk."
"My maid is now in controlled of yours?" I asked in disbelief.
"You always change the topic, Lucas." She said irritated.
I was getting a headache because of my sister.
"You hurt her with your own hands and you didn't even say sorry. You even talk to her hurtful words. She took care of you nowadays. Ana told me that. She is not a gold digger Lucas. The day I met her she is not like that. I am the one who pleaded for her to accept this. " Her eyes burning in anger and her cheeks turning red as a tomato
"I was drunk." I defend myself.
"Drunk or not. You shouldn't do that to her. What if Mark does that to me? Are you going to just sit there?” She practically shouted.
I fisted my hands into a ball.
I hate this feeling that I am wrong.
I hate this feeling that I know that they are right.
“It was an accident.” I protested and she threw the papers she saw.
"Cleaned up your mess. Lucas. Don’t wait until the end that you will regret and realize what she has done to you." She said seriously and word-by-word has meaning inside of it.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that Leticia," I argued.
"I will talk to you like this if you are standing on the wrong side. I'll talk to you when your problem is done. I am planning something and you guys need to join." She said, walking to the door.
"Luke's birthday is two weeks from now. Just reminding you if you FORGOT AGAIN!" she said loudly that last part, slamming that door loudly too.
I released a deep breath.
I forgot my son's birthday last year because of fucking Chloe. Thankfully Leticia was there to remind me and prepared for my son's birthday.
Leticia making me regret what I have done. I shouldn't push Aria like that. Instead of doing contracts. I am thinking how would I say sorry to her.
I picked up my phone and pressed Mark's contact number. He is my best friend and Leticia's husband.
In two rings he picked up, "Hello, Lucas?"
"Yeah, I need your help," I said straight to the point.
"What help business?" He asked. I don't know how to say this but I never ask him unless it's business problems.
I gathered myself up
"No."
"Oh, what is it?" I heard him asked in confused about my sudden calling and asking.
"How could I say sorry for the girl… that I hurt?" I asked and I heard him chuckling.
"What on Earth did you eat and you are asking me that?" He laughed loudly right now.
"Come on Mark. I don't have time for a joke." I said sternly, I was getting annoyed, I know he will tease me.
"Chill, Lucas. Just say sorry, that is enough for a girl."
"I did that one time but I broke it again," I said in a whisper of regret.
"Just say sorry or buy her flowers or food. Leticia is like that when I did something wrong. Unless… She is Chloe who needs a Tiffany. Co necklace for you to be forgiven." I ignored the last part.
"Thank you, man. I'll try my best."
"Just call me anytime."
I hang up the call. I am just going to finish my work.
