Chapter 76: Chapter 76
ALPHA GREYSON (Part 2)
As I glanced at the man in front of me, I felt weak. As I recognized him, I clenched my teeth. I'm familiar with him. I once saw him at the palace with my father. He is... Alpha Ricci's son, the successor of the South White Pack, deserted their pack and vanished like a puff of smoke.
"Do you remember me, Prince Greyson?" he asked, his voice echoing around the room. It was a little gloomy, but the light from the small window on the walls allowed me to clearly see his face. I tried moving my arms and feet, but it was futile. My father and mother had predicted this, and I was convinced that it would not happen to me. But I had no idea they could accomplish this.
"You can't get away from that rope, your highness; it was custom-made for you," he explained. He knelt and looked me in the eyes. Fuck! If I could just move here!
"What do you want?" I inquired calmly, even though I was enraged. I get where he's coming from. I understand that Father has a weakness, but I never expected Dylan to do something like this. He remains a resident of North Snow Kingdom. He is still under obligation to respect me! To honor my father!
"You really are Alpha King Erick's son, huh?" he mockingly laughed. As I watched him laugh his ass off, I clenched my teeth. I'm not sure what he's planning, but I know it's dangerous the longer I stay here. I need to go away as soon as possible.
When he punched my face as soon as he stopped laughing, my head twisted sideways. Because of the hit, my jaw hardened. My lips rapidly became tinged with the taste of blood.
"No wonder Prince Henry wants you dead..." I came to a halt as a result of what he said. What exactly did he say?
Even though I could still feel the blood on my lips, I returned his gaze. Damn! It hurts! I gave him a stone-cold stare. He smirked and reached for my jaw. When he gripped me tightly, I winced in pain.
"Yes... you heard me correctly, your highness; the Rema Kingdom forced me to do this; Prince Henry commanded me to kidnap and murder you..." he snarled. My mouth dropped open. No... he's bluffing. My father turns his back on Dylan to protect Prince Henry. So, I know Prince Henry will never betray my father!
"I don't believe you!" I venture. He laughed and stomped on my stomach. I splattered up against the wall, as did the chair I was sitting on. The seat buckled, but I remained strapped in. As I felt the pain in my back, I gritted my teeth.
"Why? Do you think Prince Henry is that kind? No! Your father was just stupid enough to ignore me and protect that bastard! Prince Henry knows he will never be the Alpha King of the Rema Kingdom because he is only a second child! So, he used your father to make the North Snow Kingdom his own! He purposely commanded his men to kill my father so that I would hate Alpha King Erick!" he yelled desperately.
I stood up and looked at him. His gaze was fixed on mine. I don't know if I'll believe him. I'm not sure if what he's saying is true. I've only seen Prince Henry once, and by the looks of him, I doubt he'd commit something so heinous. But what if Dylan's story is true?
Did Prince Henry do this on purpose? Does this imply... Has he just duped my father?
"If you're telling the truth..., why are you now following Prince Henry when he was the one who ordered your father's death?" I questioned. I noticed his jaw clenching. He came up to me. When he gripped my neck and hauled me up, I gasped. He towers over me. Damn! If only I were an adult now! I couldn't accomplish much because I'm just ten years old!
"Are you using your intelligence on me?" he inquired sarcastically. As he raised me higher, I closed my eyes in pain. "I'm following Prince Henry now because I have a plan to carry out, and... you know... what is it?" his tone darkens. I'm losing my breath, straining to breathe.
"I'll kill Prince Henry first, his daughter... Alpha King Erick, and... you... Prince Greyson..." he said evilly before releasing me. I slipped and fell to the ground. I was taking a deep breath when I heard him order his men to torture me. His men were unmistakable to me. Their distinguishing aspect was that they were all Rema people. That's why, although I was in such misery that I almost died, my hatred for Prince Henry and the Rema Kingdom became stronger.
They tied me up over the table and subjected me to horrible treatment. As I yelled in agony, they laughed evilly. My 10-year-old body was almost crumbling, and I wanted they would simply kill me. As they finished, my body was filled with my own blood. My entire body was covered with bruises. My entire body is shaking in pain. But my mind is now numb from the pain that my body is experiencing.
I was nearly lifeless when they released me, and the next thing I knew, I was being thrown somewhere quiet till their words faded from my ears. I gradually opened my eyes and noticed the huge trees above. The sunset sky was visible from above behind the tall trees.
Is this my end? I couldn't move a muscle. I feel like I am gradually losing my life. My blood was dripping wildly from my veins. Rage took hold of me. Prince Henry... If you're really behind all of this... then... My father was a fool to put his trust in you. Resentment and anger built within me, particularly toward the Rema people. And I will bury that hatred and rage until my death.
I was ready to close my eyes when I heard some light footfall approaching. I'm not sure where I am. I'm not sure where those jerks dumped me. But I'm sure someone is on their way. Are those my father's men? Are they finally going to help me?
"Sun meets the ocean... ocean meets the sun... stars scatter across the midnight sky..." said a little voice... singing. Unknowingly, my heart began to slow. "Walking in the forest... alone in the dark... listening to the woman's cry..." continued the voice. I'm not sure why, but... Listening to that wonderful voice makes me feel safe.
I feel like because of that voice I'll leave this world peacefully. However, the singing ceased. The footsteps came to a halt. My heart began to race once more. As the sun was replaced by the moon from above, the sky darkened. And before I knew it, I heard someone scream close to me. Someone approached me, but I was so weak that my vision was becoming blurry. But, before I passed out, I vividly recall the girl who had saved me. She was a brunette... and possessed emerald eyes. The trait of a clan that I despise the most.
