Chapter 50: Chapter 50

Chapter 48

The palace's security was tightened up in the days that followed. Alpha Greyson has become more rigid at the palace since the announcement of my pregnancy. There were also extra guards keeping an eye on me. While Elder Agnes proposed it, I diverted my attention by reading about pregnant books in the library. Elder Agnes left the palace the other day, and before she left, she informed me a lot about the pregnancy.

Now that I'm pregnant, I need to take better care of myself, so I understand if Alpha Greyson is being strict with me. Dylan hasn't been apprehended yet and could strike at any time. Just thinking about it makes me worried about my child. I don't want my child to feel threatened, therefore I'll go to any length to keep him or her safe.

I was reading quietly in the library when someone walked in. When I saw Beta Miguel, I came to a halt. He bowed to greet me. I can't help but notice him. He vanished from the palace for a week, and his group, like previous missions to find Dylan, they failed; in fact, two more died in his group, infuriating Alpha Greyson even more. And, to be honest, my mistrust of Beta Miguel is growing, despite the fact that I know I have no evidence to doubt him.

"It's time for your lunch, your Majesty." He said politely. I nodded and stood up without reluctance to follow him. Kylie and Rose followed us, as did a slew of security personnel.

"How's Alpha Greyson, Beta Miguel?" I said as we made our way to the dining hall.

"He's trying to gather the palace's most skilled men to find Dylan," he explained.

"I'm sorry about what happened to your group, and I hope my condolences reach their families," I added quietly. Beta Miguel nodded quickly. "I will make sure they reach your condolences, your Majesty," he added decisively. I'm not sure how I'll capture him or whether my suspicions are true.

I sighed deeply. "Many people have been affected because of Dylan. I know how he despises the kingdom... after all... he believes Alpha King Erick didn't care about him," I added, watching his reaction. His countenance remained blank, so I continued to talk. "When he attacked me... he told me about my past. That's when everything comes back to me. I didn't want Alpha Greyson to know I remembered, but I couldn't help myself and had to tell him. I'm not surprised that you already know about it. Alpha Greyson... told you, didn't he?" I inquired. Only then did I notice the shift in his expression. His brows furrowed; he appears to be deep in thought.

I told him a trap. I never inform people about my condition. Only two persons are aware that I remember. It's Dylan and Alpha Greyson, so I was shocked when he said the other day that I remembered my past. That is something I cannot overlook. I asked Alpha Greyson about it, and he stated unequivocally that he never discussed anything with Beta Miguel... so if Beta Miguel told me that... he heard it from Alpha Greyson it means...

"Y-Yes, he told me while we were talking about something," he said. As we approached the dining room, I balled my fist. Beta Miguel... Didn't you realize you'd already fallen into my trap? Now... I simply require confirmation or evidence. But how am I going to do it in my situation?

I didn't say anything when we entered the dining room. Alpha Greyson was already seated in his usual spot when I arrived. He got up to help me take my seat. Even though my mind was racing, I forced myself to smile at him. We began eating in silence. Alpha Greyson, who was suddenly serious, caught my eye. It appears that he, too, has serious thoughts.

Alpha Greyson and I walked behind the palace after we finished our lunch. He stated that he needed fresh air and to be with me. He also chose the two of us to walk, which is why we didn't have guards watching us.

The fresh air blew on us. It made my hair dance. Alpha Greyson, who was strolling beside me, caught my attention. As we strolled together, he held my hand. Every stride we take sinks into the Bermuda grass.

"Is there something wrong?" I said, seeing as he appeared to be lost in contemplation.

"I thought of my men's words while I'm busy planning a way to trap Dylan with my hands," he began. He and I both came to a halt. "What if... someone is betraying me... do you know who it could be?" he wondered, puzzled. I bit my lower lip, trying not to reveal what I knew. I don't want to draw any conclusions without solid evidence. I know how close he is to Beta Miguel, and I know if I tell him that Beta Miguel might be the one betraying him, he will be hurt.

I know he won't take it lightly, and it will pain him greatly.

"I believe... you should conduct a thorough investigation into it, and you should... thoroughly check your men," I suggested.

"Actually, I have one person in my mind," he murmured, making me stiffen; had he thought of something? Could we think alike?

"Who is it?" " I couldn't help but anticipate something. He took a deep breath. "It could be... one of the elders..." he sounds unsure of what he said. My eyebrows meet. One of the elders? How did he say that?

"Why? Do you have any speculations?" I inquired.

"Mateo... one of the elders came from the South White Pack. He lived in the South White Pack when Alpha Ricci, Dylan's father, was still in charge. He was a close friend of Alpha Ricci and he was also Dylan's trainer at the time." He explained. I came to a halt there. Elder Mateo, was a friend of Dylan's father once?

"H-How did he... come here to the palace?" I'll ask.

"After Alpha Ricci's death, my father appointed him as an Elder," Alpha Greyson replied. I can't seem to stop thinking profoundly. Then Beta Miguel isn't the only one I should be concerned about. And if you look closely, there is a big chance that Elder Mateo is behind everything because he has the clearest background story close to Dylan's father. But... Something is wrong with it. If I am the traitor, I will make certain that no one knows where I came from. Especially my bond with the South White pack, which was led by Alpha Ricci, Dylan's father.

"I suspected him even more when I remembered an incident a year ago. When he and Beta Miguel first met, I remember he was surprised because he mentioned that Alpha Ricci's son looked a lot like Beta Miguel, so I thought... if he knows and knows Dylan... he definitely has something to do with what's happening," that's when I was completely stunned by what Alpha Greyson said.

What? Elder Mateo mentioned that... Alpha Ricci's son resembles Beta Miguel? And Alpha Ricci's son is... Dylan, right? I'm cold. What if... Elder Agnes, is referring to... is Beta Miguel who might be Dylan's son? I closed my eyes tightly. Is this possible? Damn it!

"Are you okay?" Alpha Greyson inquired, concerned when he noticed my closed eyes. Even though my head hurt a little, I nodded. When Alpha Greyson grabbed me up and carried me like a bride, I was taken aback. He apologized and glanced at me.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told you all that. You're pregnant... you shouldn't have this kind of problem," he apologized as he walked back into the castle. I shook my head because I love it when he tells me all he thinks.

"No... I'm actually glad that you're opening up to me..." I explained. I'm now aware that everyone is observing us. But they immediately lowered their gaze out of respect for both of us.

"I trust you so much... I feel like you're the right person to say these things," he stated simply. That's when I finally cracked a smile.

"But you have Beta Miguel; do you not trust him?" I attempted. Our chamber was opened by a royal guard. Alpha Greyson walked in and placed me on our bed. I could tell he was serious. I became tense. Did he know something?

"I really don't like it whenever you ask about him," he stated seriously. What he said astounded me. He tucked me into bed and sat down beside me. My brows furrowed in response to what he said.

“W-Why?" I inquired, perplexed.

"I'm jealous," he stated emphatically. My lips parted as I noticed how his eyes had become slits. I could sense his annoyance. I grasped his jaw and slowly stroked him. He exhaled heavily, as though my touch had a strong effect on him.

"Why would you be jealous? You're my mate, and I only love you," I kindly explained. Later, I noticed his smile. When I saw him grin, it instantly lifted my heart. He has the ability to completely alter my mood in an instant.

"You have to rest now before I kiss you, and I won't let you rest," he joked. I shook my head and chuckled.

"I don't want to rest..." I mumbled. His eyes heated and he attacked me with hungry kisses while his hands stroked every part of my body.
