Chapter 46: Chapter 46

Chapter 44

I can sense Alpha Greyson's busyness growing with each passing day. Every day that passes, he doesn't even inform me that he's having trouble finding Dylan. I'm not sure what the problem is, but every time Alpha Greyson orders them to find Dylan, many of his men return back anxious and bloodied.

I'm worried about what might happen. If these incidents continue, Alpha Greyson may be unable to bear them and will be the one to take action in the search for Dylan, which I do not want to happen. I can't let him chase Dylan because I know it's risky.

"What if it's true that someone betrayed Alpha King Greyson?" Mrs. Clea wondered. I'm now in Mrs. Clea's office in the housekeeping hall. Yna and Gina are also present because they have a break. I didn't have anyone else to talk to, so I told them about the problems that we were having.

"As far as I know, Alpha Greyson has never failed in such searches, so someone must be informing Dylan about the Alpha King's next moves," Yna concurred with Mrs. Clea. What they stated made me think because, if you look at what is going on, everything is becoming too convoluted. Finding Dylan shouldn't be this difficult because Alpha Greyson is bound to disrupt the North Snow Kingdom's terrain. However, if someone betrays him, he will be unable to locate Dylan.

"Didn't you say that many people were killed during the hunting ceremony for betraying the Alpha King? How can they betray if no one supports them?" Gina stated. I inhaled deeply and sank deeper into thought.

Gina is right. Councilors and officials will not betray unless they are persuaded by an influential individual. Who, however, could betray Alpha Greyson?

"I can't imagine anyone betraying Alpha Greyson. I know very little about the councilors and officials. And the only person that is close to Alpha Greyson right now is Beta Miguel, whom Alpha Greyson trusts."

Gina and Yna both nodded. While Mrs. Clea's brows come together. She must have given this a lot of thought.

"Is there something wrong, Mrs. Clea?" I sought out, as she shook her head and straightened her seat.

"I just assumed it was a close friend who betrayed the Alpha King," Mrs. Clea said thoughtfully.  A close friend. Who are Alpha Greyson's closest associates? I was shocked when something unexpected sprang to mind. My head shook. Impossible. He is incapable of doing so. He'd known Alpha Greyson since he was a child, even when he was just a prince. Alpha Greyson regarded him as his friend and brother. This is not how I should be thinking.

"Luna Amara... I know it's not right to be suspicious, especially of that person," Mrs. Clea replied, noticing my disturbed expression. I became tense. What if Mrs. Clea is right? But what if... Is it Beta Miguel who betrays Alpha Greyson? No way.

Our talk came to an end. As I walked to my room, my head was jumbled. When I saw Beta Miguel, I was stunned. We'll run into each other. He seems to be from Alpha Greyson's office. He swiftly bowed to greet me.

"Good day, Luna Amara." He greeted. I smiled at him. I can't stop staring at him. I returned my gaze to his. He didn't change from the first day I saw him in this palace.

"Good day to you, too. Are you from Alpha Greyson's office?" I'll ask.

"Yes, your Majesty. He just gives me an order," he said, nodding.

"What order? I inquired, watching him pause before speaking.

"Just about the new group that Alpha Greyson will send to find Dylan," he replied, leaving me startled. New group? So, the old group he dispatched to get Dylan has arrived? And if he sent another group, it implies the prior group was no longer successful.

"Are there a lot of people hurt?" I asked, concerned.

"I'm sorry to say, but yes, your Majesty," he responded. I exhaled heavily. This is unbelievable. Many people's lives are being put at risk in order to find Dylan, and I can't help but worry because this happens all the time. If I'm concerned, Alpha Greyson is even more concerned most probably.

"Don't worry, your Majesty. Everything will be fine. Alpha Greyson will protect you no matter what happens. Especially now, that you remembered everything," he said. I was stunned by what he said.

"I need to get going now, your Majesty," he murmured as he passed by me. I just nodded and stood there watching him walk away. I quietly entered my room and was dumbfounded. Something bothers me. Something isn't right here. Because of it, I just put the concept to sleep. Something soft touched my lips as I awoke. I noticed Alpha Greyson's blue eyes when I opened my eyes. His eyes were beaming at me, despite the fact that I knew they were hiding his fears and exhaustion.

"You're here..." I hoarsely murmured as I sat up in my bed. He clutched me as if I were a delicate jewel that needed to be guarded.

"Did you eat your dinner?" he inquired. I scratched my eyes and shook my head.

"Not yet, how about you?" I replied. He felt my cheek as he caressed it. I locked my gaze on him. I could see the tiredness in his eyes more clearly now.

"Then let's eat dinner together," he said. I agreed by nodding. Alpha Greyson has just brought dinner to our room. I couldn't take my eyes off him while I was eating. He remained silent throughout. I am as well. But something bothers me, and I know I need to ask Alpha Greyson about it.

"Alpha Greyson..." I said. He gulped his water and glanced at me, asking, "What is it?" I forced a strong swallow. "Did you... ahm... tell Beta Miguel that I could now remember my childhood memories?" I inquired. He came to a halt when I asked him a question. He cocked his head, immersed in thought. He eventually settled his gaze on me after clicking his neck.

"I think no. I've been so busy these past few days that I haven't properly talked to Miguel," he answered, bringing my world to a halt. My hands and face were both frigid. My hunger had entirely vanished. So... how did Beta Miguel know I remembered everything?!
