Chapter 45: Chapter 45

Chapter 43

I stayed in the room to rest, just as the doctors advised. I'm getting better, but my body still hurts from being battered. When I got bored, Alpha Greyson provided an alternative activity. He placed books in our room so that I could read.

We dine or converse together whenever Alpha Greyson comes to visit. I also keep up with what's going on at the palace. I discovered that a lot of wolves were killed during the hunting event because, in addition to the councilors and palace officials, the rogues brought by Dylan also attacked that night.

Alpha Greyson discovered that Dylan took advantage of the chance to get close to me. Dylan's aim was me, thus he was able to get other councilors and bureaucrats to support him. The traitors were defeated by Alpha Greyson's forces. It's just upsetting because so many councilors and officials are traitors. It implies that there are still plenty of individuals in the palace who are not completely devoted to the Alpha King.

Alpha Greyson's troops are currently on the hunt for Dylan. Alpha Greyson dispatches formidable men to track down Dylan and his rogue companions.

I spent the few days I was in the room thinking about the Rema Kingdom. I also asked Kylie and Rose to bring me a book about the Rema Kingdom, which kept me occupied while I was recovering.

My father, Prince Henry, is the younger brother of Alpha King Terrence, the former Alpha King of Rema Kingdom. And the current Alpha King of Rema Kingdom is Alpha King Troy Archer Evans. Alpha Troy was a clever king, according to the stories. He is also one of the best. He has won multiple battles and defeated numerous Rogue Packs. He is also close to Alpha Greyson's age.

I'm at a loss about how to reach Rema Kingdom. I'd like to speak with Alpha Troy. We're actually cousins! He will undoubtedly pay attention to what I say. I want him to understand that the North Snow Kingdom has nothing to do with the conflict between the two great kingdoms. It was Dylan, and I knew he recognized Dylan. I also want to inform him that I am still alive and that the conflict between North Snow and Rema must be ended.

I finally persuaded Alpha Greyson that I was actually fine after a few days of recuperation. That's how I was able to exit the room and explore the palace. I also got an opportunity to speak with Yna, Gina, and Mrs. Clea. They were concerned about my health, but I assured them that I was okay.

After my walk to the housekeeping hall, I decided to pay Alpha Greyson a visit to his office. Kylie and Rose trailed me down the corridor to Alpha Greyson's office. I was taken aback when I noticed a commotion in the office.

"You're all fucking useless!" said Alpha Greyson thunderously. I moved in closer to see what was going on.

"Please forgive us, your Majesty. We didn't think their forces were wide-ranging. But we made sure they didn't know about our attack, but... it's like they knew about our moves, so they were able to kill many of our colleagues and he escaped again," said a terrified member of Alpha Greyson's men.

"Are you telling me that someone is betraying me?" Alpha Greyson asked, his voice darkening. I'm cold. Just by his voice I suddenly remembered the Alpha Greyson I knew before. Those times when I was new here in the palace.

"Fuck!" I heard something cracking inside the office.

"Get out of my fucking sight!" growled Alpha Greyson. His men fled rapidly. They were even taken aback when they saw me outside of the office. They promptly bowed in respect before departing.

"Your Majesty, Queen Luna is here," Beta Miguel declared when he noticed me. I came out of hiding and went into Alpha Greyson's office. Kylie and Rose were left outside, and Beta Miguel came out as soon as I walked in.

I could see the darkness in Alpha Greyson's expression as he sat in his swivel chair. His office is now a shambles. The broken glasses are visible on the floor. He sighed heavily when he saw me.

When he spotted how I was looking around his office, he softly whispered, "I'm sorry..." I walked up to his table. I moved around behind him and hugged him on the shoulder. When I laid my chin on his right shoulder, he stiffened but relaxed.

"Is there anything I can do?" I murmured softly as I hugged him. He grasped my arms and interlaced our fingers.

"I can do this," he declared.

"Are you having a hard time?" I'll inquire. His swivel chair spun towards me, much to my amazement. He drew me into his lap. I ended myself sitting on his lap sideways. He hugged me tightly, his head resting on my neck.

"Yes..." he confessed. My heart ached slightly because of what he said since I knew he was being honest about his actual feelings for the first time. He admitted that he was struggling.

"I can't let you be hurt again, Amara," he gripped me even tighter. "If someone truly betrays me and that is the cause of your misery again, I will not be able to forgive myself." My eyes welled up with tears. My heart feels like it's going to splinter. I can sense his care for me.

I'm not sure if it's true that he's being betrayed. I hope not, but knowing Dylan, it's difficult to be certain. He has the ability to make a person's thoughts spin. He has the ability to transform good into evil. That is why Dylan is not your typical opponent. He is difficult to defeat.

"What if... we asked for help with the Rema?" I questioned quietly. I felt him halt. He raised his head and fixed his gaze on me.

"Why? Don't you trust me that I can do it alone?" I could sense the hostility in his words, and I quickly shook my head because that’s not what I meant!

"No! I was just thinking that if Rema and North Snow banded together, we'd have a better chance of defeating Dylan. That way, the chance of your tragedy will be smaller, Alpha Greyson. I'm also concerned about you," I explained.

"Do you think... that they will believe us?" I was stunned by his question. “Surely they won't just believe us—”

"Then... I'll introduce myself to them. That I am the lost princess! That I am Prince Henry's daughter!" I cut him off. He shook his head. I could see the frustration in his eyes. I was helpless. Can't it really happen?

"They may assume you are the long-lost princess, but... They will most emphatically keep you away from me. Because they'll think I concealed you for a long time only to keep them away!" he explained. I remained silent as he spoke. Because I believe he is right. If that's the case, what else can I do to help? So that Alpha Greyson doesn't get hurt?

"Amara..." he called me when he noticed my silence. He grabbed both of my cheeks and pulled me to face him. His expression softened. He seems more concerned about what I'm thinking now because of what he said.

"I'm sorry... I said that because... I'm scared they'll take you away from me," he apologized softly. I nodded because I didn't want us to be apart.

"I'm fine... Alpha Greyson," I explained. He sighed and wrapped his arms around me. I was now leaning against his hard chest. I closed my eyes to the heat he brought to my skin.

"Do you really want to... get to know the Evans family?" he inquired. I was stunned. The Evans family is the Rema Kingdom's royal family. That is where my ancestors came from. If the San Diego family is the origin of the royal family in the San Isidro Kingdom, the Scot family is in Agama, the Foster family is in Urzua, the Ruiz family is in North Snow, and the Evans family is in Rema.

"If getting to know them is the price of separating the two of us, I'd rather not get to know them..." I stated honestly. He grasped my shoulder, bringing our gazes together. His eyes are sweet and lovely. The way he stared at me appeared to reveal his weakness.

"Are you sure?" he inquired once again. I nodded fast because I was certain of what I said. I don't want us to be apart. I can't.

"I know... we can do it. I know there will come a time when... we will defeat Dylan," I replied confidently. He gave me a warm smile. Damn! He closed our distance and kissed my lips. My lips parted.

"I'll make certain... No one can hurt you," he said quietly as he kissed me again.
