"Wow,that was really-direct to the point,huh! And yes,you sounded like a conceited man just a few seconds ago!" Serena blurted out.
There was a moment of silence between them. Then after a few seconds,they both laughed as if there's no tomorrow.
"Seriously...I can totally understand about your situation with Chelsea. I know that you like her,and you wanted to be closer to her as much as possible,but you also have to understand Chelsea. It has been her dream to become a famous musical actress...and not everyone can go to London to perform in the West End,and this is her chance!" Serena relayed her thoughts,in a serious manner.
Gale took a quick glance at her,then he fixed his eyes on the road again.
"What would you do if you were in Chelsea's shoes?" he suddenly asked.
"I would definetely go. If you really love me,you'll let me go and make my dreams come true. And I would put my 100% trust on you that you'll still continue to love me. I will do everything and anything that I can to make our relationship work,even if we're miles away from each other." Serena was getting emotional,but she was trying her best to supress her feelings. She's really inlove with this man,and it hurts her so bad to see him with someone else just because of the sacrifice she did back in 1945...
Gale didn't say anything after listening to her. Instead,he parked the car at the parking area and he stopped the engine. He then looked her,as if he was also in pain.
"I don't know what to do anymore,Serena. My mind says that I should continue with my relationship with Chelsea,because she's been with me since you broke up with me. She helped me go back on track. And now here you are,trying to enter my life again and my heart is telling me..." Gale suddenly faltered on his words. He looked away from Serena and stared at the other direction.
"Look at me,Walter. What is your heart telling you?" Serena encouraged him to speak.
Gale sighed sharply,then without any warning, he suddenly got closer to her and kissed her as if their time is running out.
Serena passionately responded with Gale's kiss. She missed him so much and she just wanted to love him with all her heart and soul...
Gale suddenly pulled away from her,and he was breathing heavily,while looking confused.
"I-I'm sorry. I think we're just both drunk. I shouldn't have kissed you. Let's forget about this,okay?"
"B-But---!" Serena wasn't able to finish what she's about to say when Gale suddenly cuts her off.
"Let me just drive you home." he said.
Gale drove the car again for a fre minutes,and they didn't say anything at all. When they arrived at her apartment building and once she stepped out from the car,Gale just said goodnight and he drove off.
Serena just watched him go as tears fell from her eyes...
