Chapter 10: Chapter 10
**Cassie's Point of View**
I am unable to sleep.
Last night was a memorable and surprising night for me. How should I know he'll propose marriage to me? What's more shocking is that my wedding is coming up next week! Consider how he nearly killed me.
Of course, saying no is not insane. Yes, it shocked me rather than surprised me, but it is still my dream.
I never imagined myself married to anybody other than Kaiden. He is the only male I have.
Aside from my family, I never let someone as close to me in. When I was younger, there were girls who wanted to befriend me, but I knew they were only exploiting me. The majority of them are humans or werewolf women who wish to stab me in the back.
Why? Because they are envious of my relationship with the alpha's son.
Kaiden is a people person. Anyone would want to be friends with him. He is the type of guy who draws both werewolves and humans. He is so unique that everyone looks up to him. There are just a few people who are jealous of his position, but there are many more who look up to him.
"Hey," Tom says as he approaches me. Starting today, I am staying at my father's place. Based on our values and tradition, Kaiden and I cannot leave the same house. Only after we've tied the ties.
"Hey, Andrea, where are you?"
So, it's been three years since I met my companion. Imagine that after three years, all of my brothers had met. It has a significant impact on them. They matured in so many ways; they now live in different houses, yet only a few blocks apart.
Only Tom and his friend live with Dad. Dad is still the strong man I met.
"You'll be married soon, time flies," he said to me. My other two brothers are out of town on business.
"Yeah, I'm overjoyed to be with him. Three years of dating should be enough to reassure me. "He is the only person I will love for the rest of my life," I said.
"Well done." Kaiden is the type of man I know. We have faith in him, and it's a relief that he's your spouse."
"I know," I admitted.
Night fell, and it had been three days since I had seen him. Kaiden hadn't seen me since he proposed marriage. It is forbidden for a soon-to-wed husband and wife.
I mourn him terribly, but I refuse to be punished by the consequences. We feel that if we happen to meet between the marriage proposal and the wedding, it will be a bad omen.
A negative omen that one of the friends would die. So, no matter what happens, I will never challenge that notion.
But then I heard someone knocking on the window in the middle of the night.
I'm not sleeping since being apart from my mate is difficult for me. I kept having this strong want to rush over to their house and embrace him.
But seeing my friend Kaiden peering through the window at me, he appears to be sleep deprived. When I turned on the light in my room, I can see his face.
“Kaiden? Babe? What exactly are you doing here?" I screamed. He is aware of the taboo! Does he not have any concerns? It's only four more nights, four nights. Why can't he just keep going?
"I cannot, please, I cannot hold on," he pleaded angrily. He appears to be focusing on something he can no longer accept.
Instead of nagging him, I embraced him and hugged him tightly. He appears to be quiet after ten minutes. His breathing improved.
"All right, you can sleep with me. But first thing in the morning, you must go outside and sneak back in. Do you understand the ramifications of doing this correctly?" I inquired.
"I don't care about the nonsense tradition. As a result, I must bear this agony. It's even worse on my side because I'm a domineering alpha."
I understand how you feel. Even being away or gone for an extended period of time without my mate can have negative consequences. The only reason to be apart from a mate is death or rejection.
"All right, all right. Take a good, long rest... Okay? You require it."
He nodded and fell back asleep after a few seconds. He is exhausted, and I know he is in pain.
I hummed a song as I stroked his hair. I can detect his odor. It relaxes me.
Being away from him for three days caused me excruciating ache within. Behind my heart, it also reduces my appetite.
THE NEXT MORNING, I awoke to find my bed vacant. Someone is aware of his mission. He already knows what will happen if we are caught together. The harshest punishment is not getting married for three years.
We dream of starting a family together.
I have to wear the dress for myself two days before our wedding. It is designed to be a lovely white gown made of silk for a competition. It is not a very long dress; rather, it falls just below the knee. The flower crown is ready for me, crafted from a flower that can only grow under the moonlight.
"Do you enjoy it?"My father inquired. I'm in a boutique within our pack's area. This is the same boutique where my mum purchased her wedding gown. So, while my father cannot help but smile, there is a twinge of grief in his eyes.
"Will my mother be happy for me?" Is she going to be pleased with me?" I inquired of my father.
He got up from his chair and gave me a hearty hug. I already know this is love. Love from a parent who will lead her daughter to the altar built by Luna for our mate.
"Regardless of what happens, your mother will always, always be proud of you." She is observing us from the Paradise that our goddess Luna has created for us. She watches you grow into the woman she aspires to be."
