Chapter 59: Chapter 59
• • • Adam's POV • • •
"You all are shouting without lending me time to offer a word. I have a surprise for you Adams" Dad says. He's still seated in the dining with Lilith and I by him. With two of his guards. He never stays without them.
Edmonton had left already.
"And what is that?" I ask without any sign of excitement. Nothing good can come out of this wicked man.
"Come on son, I expected more excitement from you," he says sarcastically as he waves at one of his guards who immediately moves out.
Now I'm eager to know what to know what he's up to. Although I remember unmoved. He deserves not to see my excitement.
"Adams!!!" Rebecca screams immediately she sees me. Happily, she rushes into my arms "I missed you, Adam. I wasn't believing when dad told me you will soon get married in another land. So it's true, I won't see you anymore." she cries while squeezing him with her Little arms.
"Hey, don't worry I will never leave you alone. You can visit whenever you want. I'm so happy to see you. It's how long sees we last saw each other?" I whisper while cuddling her hairs.
"Many weeks" she replies exactly when Eve moves in the dining room and sees us in each other's arms. "Eve..." I call but she leaves immediately.
"Who is that?" Rebecca asks. "It's Eve, - my future wife..." I say reluctantly.
"She's very young and beautiful," she exclaimed. "Just as you are. I have to leave, I will be back in a few seconds" let out while holding her jaws. With this, I run after Eve.
"Come here, Little rat" Lilith laughs and Rebecca rushes into her arms with joy. "Oh, I will miss you." words honestly escaped Lilith's mouth.
"Why?, are you planning to go somewhere without me?" Rebecca frowns. "Never mind. So for how long have you been awake?" Lilith instantly changes the topic
"Barely two days. I woke up just after you left the palace. Anyway, that is what my Lady-in-waiting and Tommy told me." Rebecca replies sadly.
"It's well, you will be fine. I promise you." Lilith cuddles her head. Then they seat near their father.
"Eve, why are rushing out like you've seen a gosh, is something wrong with you?" Matilda pursues Eve out.
"Because I did. Just see the way they're comfortably perched as if this palace belongs to them. Hum... who is the girl in Adam's?. I'm sick and tired of all their numerous lies and endless surprises. You can never know what is next with that family." she frowns while folding her arms.
"Don't draw any conclusions until you discuss with Adam. I think its the best I can tell you... Although that girl's face is telling me something." she says thoughtfully but it's hard to figure out.
"What if he lies?. He never shares his stuff with me, the only thing we share is sex and even that, I never know if he's ever pleased or not. He never says anything crucial" her shoulders slump helplessly. She feels ashamed to admit that.
"Hmmm... I don't know what to say. Just give him some time we both will get along... I think I've seen that gril somewhere, I just can't remember where." she mumbles her last sentence.
"I doubt, she's clearly not from this kingdom... I will be fine you don't need to bother about me. I'm just so happy to have you here.. Just imagine me facing all this crowd alone with no one to comfort me. Adam never supports me. Maryline is so busy with this fucken wedding, I don't even know where she is right now" she cries.
"It's ok, my queen, I'm here for you, ask me anything and I will offer it to you." she derides.
"I want the sun, the stars, the moon and everything that goes along with it." Eve taunts and with this, she smiles.
Matilda manages to steal a smile from Eve and this makes her happy. "Wow, that's above my power. Anyway I can offer you this" she rushes and cuts a flower from the garden then she offers it to Eve.
"Awww, thank you so much. You have made my day. I will keep this flower previously" Eve smiles heavily. Matilda always knew how to veer her worries into bliss.
"Is the flower for me?" Adams surges from nowhere and Matilda moves away. She goes to the kitchen to meet Maryline.
"Nope, monsters don't receive flowers" she glowers. "Realy?" I exclaim with my brows lifted up in awe. And she retorts "Yes!".
Wow! so she seriously considers me as a monster. She might be kidding but this hits me straight in the heart. Although I don't show it. It's heart to express feelings at times.
"Why?" I ask. I'm curious.
"Who is the young ladies in the parlour. Is she going to be staying with us, is she your new wife or one of your multiple sisters?. You see, we're about to get married but I know nothing about you." she whimpers.
"Hey, you we don't have to rush things we will get to know ourselves with time. And always keep in mind that this relationship is only about me and you and no one else" I comfort her.
"Then why do you get upset when I ask you little questions?. You say something then the next second you do the contrary. One moment you show me love the next moment is like my presence irritates you. How do you want me to be?" she keeps whimpering and it makes me weak.
I don't know what else to say. "I don't want you to change. You are okay just the the way you are and no matter my mood all I always want is you." words honestly escape my mind.
"Words, words, and jaut words. You better start behaving like what you preach... If not this marriage won't won't." she veers.
I seize her hand, before she can take a step, pulling her to my chest. I look her straight into her eyes as her chest hits mine with my hands slowly shifting over her waistline, "Baby, girl, you don't walk out of me." I warn.
"I don't..." she tries to desist.. I found myself kissing her before she can offer a word. Surprisingly, she returns my kiss.
"Won't you come to the dining with me?" I ask. "No, I passe. I can't stand your father. He acts like this palace is his, meanwhile, it's my birthright." she whimpers again and I hate it.
"Ok, we stay here." he pauses. "You don't have to. Go and meet them, I'm fine. I even have a few things to do with Matilda." she lies and it shows all over her face.
"No, Adman leave. Please!" she begs "I will be back soon." I tell before leaving.
"Eve, Eve" Matilda rushes to me. I shudder in fear "what is wrong?" I panic.
She comes to me panting "I think I remember where I saw her" she happily says.
"That's great... But I told you not to bother about her. Adams and I have discussed and he promised to change." I say.
"Awww.... that's so romantic. But what I've remembered has nothing to do with you or Adam, - Perhaps but not directly I think. Just listen to what I have to tell you first."
"Yeah, go on" I frown, she keeps speaking without saying the necessary.
"Eve, the tailor is there," Maryline barges from nowhere "A minutes please" I tell her.
"NO! You have to go now." she pulls me to the parlour. OMG, I hate this crowd, to think I've always wanted to be sociable.
"I guess, you are Eve. I'm Rebecca. Adams Little sister. I'm sure no one told you about me. I'm used to them always forgetting that I'm a member of their family" she comes to me, jovial.
"That's sad, I know it feels; to be forgotten" I stare at Adams while saving this. He simply moves away.
"I'm happy to see you. This is Matilda, my best friend" I tell Rebecca.
But as foolish as Matilda is she murmurs "Wow, so it's official, I'm your best friend?" and Rebecca can't help but laugh at Matilda's weird excitement.
"Never mind she can be very silly at times," I say.
"It's fine, I like that!"
