Chapter 58: Chapter 58

• • • Eve's POV • • •

"It's only two days left to the wedding and nothing has been done yet. The greatest tailor of the kingdom will be here shortly, please Eve and Adams stay around. I have sent invitations to noble families, etc..." Maryline announces all that has to be done but I give a fuck.

Not that I'm not interested in the wedding but that is her work.

We are all seated in the dining with Adams in the head seat, me by his right, next to me is Lilith, and she looks very pleased like someone who just has an orgasm. Next to Lilith is Matilda and lastly, Edmonton, who is seated directly opposite Lilith.

While Maryline is standing by Adams talking "Decorations will start tomorrow. Last, but not least, Sir Vicent of the Caelum Kingdom the best vicar of the moon god will celebrate this union. He's on his way with your father, King Demons. I think they will be here shortly." she ends her speech with a frowning face.

"My father, hmm..." Adams murmurs with disdain.

"I'm done for now" Maryline turns to leave "Maryline, inform the tailor that she has two more gowns to sew before the wedding. The groom's sister won't dress like a slave." She says arrogantly.

"I have to discuss with her first and if she has time she will. I promise you nothing though," Maryline says recklessly.

"Of course, she will. Maryline, you won't discuss it, you will inform her about the modifications and of course, we will increase her remuneration," she spouts as she adds with her voice echoing throughout the room and it's so annoying. To think I took her as a nice person in the beginning.

"Hmm" Maryline furrows her brows and leaves without saying a word. "I'm not hungry" Adams moves out of the table. "Same for me." Edmonton leaves next.

Then Lilith later follows. Only Matilda and I are left at the table staring at each other like strangers.

"Wow, they all left without touching all this food. So no one wants to eat except me? Honestly, some people have shoes but no legs while others have legs but no shoes. But right now I have both" she heavily exclaims while staring at the food and she looks silly.

Then she gets up from where she's seated and she seats next to Eve, eagerly "Thank you so much, Eve. I can't even imagine how hard it was to convince my father to allow me to stay here," she says.

"It's fine. It wasn't that hard and I'm so happy that you are here to celebrate with me" I smile. "I'm super happy to spend the night in the palace. OMG, Mike and the others won't believe this. However, I wish they were here too." she says eagerly.

"You can invite them to the wedding. I have to leave now. See you later." I say without thinking. My mind is on Adam.

"Wow? Ok, I will inform them tomorrow. The baby girl runs to your love while I remain here feasting on this food." she nods with her eyes glued on the food.

While I leave in search of Adams.

"I'm ashamed of you Adams. This isn't how I raised you. How could you soil Eve before the honeymoon." Adams is seated in the middle of the compound thinking when this voice bursts from nowhere.

He frowns without turning back. He knows who it is and this makes him more furious.

"Don't you dare say that, in no way did you contribute to the man that I am today. You left when I needed you the most." he fusses.

Then he turns aggressively "I owe you no explanations you lost this right when you left. Trust me, I haven't forgotten all that happened and the only reason why I'm staying here is Eve and you know that."

"Stop being childish Adam and grow up. Can't you see the world in which we are? A world that doesn't endorse women. If I left it's because I had no other choice my life was at stake." she scowls.

"You left me frustrated. I was broken and since that day nothing has ever been the same. You know what?. I'm done! I'm not ready for this discussion." he frets.

"You can hate me if it makes you feel better I respect your feelings. Still, this doesn't change the fact that you disciplined Eve before the wedding. I expected more self-control from you," she lets out.

"For your information, I did nothing to her, we did it together. We are two grown adults if you haven't noticed it. You don't need to bother about her anymore I will take very good care of her and very soon she won't need you." he moves away.

Then he turns back to Maryline with a cruel smile on his first "At first I was very eager to see the little girl you left me for. Now that I've seen her I realized that she has nothing special. That you have nothing special. She has given her virginity to the first comer." he taunts.

"You're a shameless man just like your father." she tries to slap him but he seizes her hand "Don't you dare woman." then he flings it away.

"Adams, what's going on here?" I ask because I saw him flinging Maryland's hands. Maryline moves away frowning as soon as I arrive.

"Nothing important that deserves to disturb your peace." he holds my jaws with his soft hands and perks me on the lips. Anyway, that is the least of my concerns right now.

"Okay!" I take a deep breath "I have something to tell you. Promise you won't be mad?" I beg. "Go ahead!" he releases my jaws with his brows wrinkled.

I take a quick breath again "Yesterday, before we went to pick Matilda, I invited your brother, - Kidron and his sister Elgin to the wedding. Hopefully, they will arrive on time for the wedding." I let out with a sorry, babyface hoping it will be appealing.

"What?." the little smile on his face is immediately swept by a bitter one. "The last time I checked you were mad at me for announcing our wedding without your concern. And now you're inviting those strangers to our wedding without my concern? This is crazy!" he scolds more than I expected.

"What if his father lied? What if he's not my biological brother? Have you thought about that for a second?" he yells.

"I didn't because there is no doubt you both have the same, mother," I say helplessly. "What if we didn't?" he shouts.

"Sorry, I didn't know you hated Kidron this much" my shudders slumps helplessly.

"Oh, the same Kidron who treated to seduce my finance? Yes, I hate him. I'm done with this discussion, am not in the mood." with this said he leaves.

"Adam you are never in the mood. When will you ever be?" I shout as I watch him leave. He turns back then he smirks and moves away.

I never knew he will get mad at this little thing.

"That one has a serious problem." Matilda walks to me while Adams disappears.

"Yea, just because I invited Elgin and her brother, Kiddon - who happens to be Adam's brother and now he's mad at me. He's overreacting." I cry not knowing what to do.

"Wait, the same Kidron you meet at the aqua Kingdom? The sexy princess you almost kissed?" Matilda gets agitation "Now, I understand Adam's reaction" she adds.

"Wow, and you call yourself my friends. You aren't helping." I pout.

"Never mind, he will get over it. He loves you and he's a bit jealous of that all. And he has to if his brother is as hot as you described to me" she says.

"Matilda, you aren't helping?" I frown, rolling my eyes seriously. "Sorry, I'm just eager. You don't have to bother yourself. Just concentrate on your wedding." she consoles me and it's too late.

"Too late. Now it's clear that I can never count on your support. You can go and meet Adam." I retort sarcastically as I move away.

"Don't be dramatic you know I will always be on your side. I'm just eager about the whole Kidron and Elgin, thing ." she pursues me with her explanation.

"It's fine. I'm not mad." I pause in front of her. "Great, so when will they be around?" she puffs in relief.

"In a day or two, I have no idea. I just hope Elgin will be awake to attend the wedding. Trust me you will like her, if and only if she comes." I explain.

"I will pray to the moon god and he will answer our prayers. She will be here and we will have fun together. Especially with Kidron" she gets silly.

We are still in the compound speaking when the door suddenly opens and horses with Caelum coats of arms ride into the palace's compound.

"I wasn't expecting him this early." mumble while pulling Matilda in with me.

"Eve, won't you say hi to your soon-to-be father-in-law? Is that what they teach the youth of this Kingdom; disrespect?" he shouts on his horse. "All this will change as soon as my son becomes king" adds.

"Whatever." I keep moving. "I think we should stop and greet him" Matilda suggests. "NEVER! He can't to hell!" I whisper to her.

"Eve, listen to your friend." he taunts while stepping down his horse with about ten other horses mounted by guards around him.

I turn with a smirk "Welcome!" I exclaim then I pull Matilda in with me before she can bow in reverence to that wicked man.

We move into my room. "Eve, that was rude. That man is your father-in-law."

"Spare me all your moral talks I'm stressed up enough already. Any time I see that man, I doubt if I want to marry him soon. Or relate to anything that concerns him." I explain with disdain.

"Sshuutt... Reduce your voice Eve" Matilda panicked. "Oh, don't bother Adams knows and he feels the same way. Anyway, I think so. But who will deny the wickedness of this man?" I say.

"I should stay out of this, then," she says. "Oh, I'm sick!" I fall in bed facing the ceiling. "Don't bother everything will be okay." she seats by me.

"I hope so," I murmur.

"Why the hell are you doing here?" the King moves in and the first person he falls on is Lilith and Edmonton moving towards him.

They stop with greetings "My King" Edmonton bows in reverence. Lilith goes further to add "Dad, as you can see, I'm here to support my brother as well as you are." she smirks.

"You are leaving first thing tomorrow. Edmonton, make arrangements for that" with this said he moves to the dining. "I'm damn hungry" he seats.

Lilith follows him to the dining, "I'm not leaving dad, I'm not more a child that you can manipulate. I've learned to leave without your love but I'm done following your instructions" she yells.

"Just let her be, Dad" Adam interns as he walks in. He takes a seat at the table next to his father.

"It's fine, but immediately after the wedding, you are leaving. No, the excuse will be accepted. I'm happy to see you both together though. How I wish your brother was here." he smiles at his children.

"Really?" they exclaim spontaneously not believing any word that comes out of his mouth.

"Yeah, the only one you really care for," Lilith exclaims at her father.
