"Where are you, Very soon the run will start without me. I'm sure they are already gathered at the site and I'm the only one left as usual" she looked at the sky to estimate the time and she's right.

"Eve, where the hell are you?!" Matilda keeps roaming, peeping left and right like a thief. She's worried, and it's normal since she isn't supposed to be in this arena. She looks up to the sky as it changes its shades and her shoulder slumps helplessly.

After waiting for Eve to no avail, she finally gives up and she decides to go without Eve "At least I've tried." she consoles herself.

While I'm nervously lettering around my bed, thinking on how I'm going to leave this palace without anyone seeing me. I have never gone for a run and I'm definitely going to go for this one with Matilda.

~ knocks on my door ~

I calm myself, taking a deep breath before going to open the door. "Maryline I told you I want to be left alone." I cry as I lazily stroll to the door, I open it and I frown.

"I'm sorry, I just came to check on you. And I can see that you are fine. Call me if you need something, I will be in the kitchen preparing dinner. Let me allow you to rest now." with this said she leaves.

"Please, no more disturbance and I will only leave this room at dinner time." I say as Maryline moves away. She leaves without saying a word. I immediately bold the  door behind her. I partially shift into my wolf and jump out through my window.

"Ouuchh..." I scream as I heavily fall to the ground and it hurts. I discreetly move to the back of the palace. From there, there is a way leading outside of the palace but I have to bypass the kitchen before reaching that exit. Now, close to that exit is the maids centre. How can I leave without them seeing me?.

"OMG, Matilda will definitely go without me," This is when I release that things aren't as easy as I planned. From where I'm strutting, I can see Maryline sitted in the kitchen and this makes me sick.

"Hey, you what are you doing here." this huge voice hits Matilda from behind, she shudder with her heart falling into her stomach in shock, since didn't see him coming.

She immediately turns and faces the tall and frightful man and this gives her a freezing chill down her spine. "Sorry, sir!" she runs away but the man is faster, he catches her. He seizes the neck of her dress and jerks her up to reach his face.

"Let me go, or I will tell the Queen. I'm friends to the Queen." she battles in vain with her legs recklessly waving about the ground level.

"It's you again?. What did I tell you this morning?. I think it's time I teach you a good lesson that you will never forget. He pulls her along with him to the front of the gate. "Please, don't hurt me!" she starts crying.

While I manage to get to the exit and I happily move out of the palace "Wow! That was good, Eve!" I congratulate myself for being this smart. Then I look around and I can't sight Matilda. "She left without me!" I frown as I murmur. It hurts, I thought she would wait for me.

"Didn't you see, I was in the palace a few minutes ago." Matilda cries in vain. "I don't care!" the man yells as he keeps pulling her with him.

"Ok, ok, huge man, before you do anything to me, please let's go into the palace first or call for the queen." She cries louder this time that Eve can hear some tiny wail from where's strutting.

"I will do no such thing, stupid girl. The queen has no time to waste with you." he stops by the small Bangalore by the entrance of the palace by his friends who are guards like him.

"You all should see what we have here," he calls for their attention.

"Shit! However, could she leave without me." I willingly hit my feet against a stone, not giving a damn about the tiny wail I just heard. "It's better I move back to the palace before Maryline notices my absence.

~   ~   Adam's POV ~   ~

Sitted in my car parked at the police parking, I check my phone. I see calls I have missed from Carol, my secretary and the latest call shows two hours ago...

I immediately call back "Carol, any feedback?" and she picks up immediately "Sir, the meeting is over. it's finall, they will take the company." she says, sadly.

"Don't bother, they won't!" I retort confidently. "I hope so, sir. However, you were supposed to attend the meeting sir. Now things are more complicated." she honestly says.

"Unfortunately, I had a car accident." I say. "OMG, sir, how are you feeling now?. In which hospital are you in?" she screams as she gets so much agitated that I can feel it through the phone.

"You need to calm down, I'm fine and I'm leaving the police station. I hit a young child with my car and I'm driving to the hospital to check on her. I have to leave." I hung up and headed straight for the hospital.

The hospital isn't far from the police station. I park and move into the building. The receptionist appoints a nurse who takes me to the young girls ward, while explaining everything.

"We  tried to reach her parents so we search her bag, but we didn't find her phone, and no way to talk with her since she's still under the effects of drugs. Hopefully, she will regain conciousness soon." she ends her speech.

"Okay, I will be here until she gets up then." I simple nod with a serious look. "It's nice of you sir, I have to leave." she smiles, with this she leaves while I enter the room.

I take a seat on the chair next to her. Looking at her innocent face, she makes me think of Eve, then I ask myself what if I killed her?. Then I realise that my racing was in vain since I ended up not attending the meeting, but I nearly killed an innocent life.

She's so serene in her sleep that she makes me crave for my own baby. I think it's high time I become a father. I'm kidding, I smile to myself. I think this accident is getting me insane.

My eyes unexpectedly fall on her arm. I get up from the chair on which I am seated and I move closer to her. I take her arm to look closer and I was right. I notice a tiny "S" symbol on her left wrist and this makes me think of the Solis kingdom. This is weird, her symbol is exactly carved like that of the solis clan.

I have a symbol precisely on the left wrist of my arm, like hers in contrary mine is "C" the sign of my clan. I guess it's just a coincidence and more to this, people love tattoos here.

"Where, am I. Why the hell are you holding my hand?" she weakly opens her eyes, yet she manages to yell.

"Sorry." I place back her hand in bed and I elegantly adjust my sitting position. I can't help it, I'm too alluring "You are in the hospital, you had an accident. You were knocked down by a car." I say.

"What?. I have an exam to pass. Ouuchh...!" she tries to get up from the bed but the fierce pain from her body halts her. "Damn!" she screams so loud that a nurse rushes in "Any the problem?" she asks.

"I need to leave this hospital now, I have an exam to pass at 8 am, and my teacher is damn strict, so give me some strong pain killers and let me leave. I promise,- I will come back as soon as I'm done with my exams," she speaks none stop with so much confidence that I barely grin. Just barely...

"Unfortunately, we can't give you more pain killers; we can't give you more than what we have already, I hope you understand. But, - If you stay calm, you won't feel any pain." the nurse smiles.

Then she adds "More to this, it's past noon already, so I guess your exams is over by now. Call me if you need something." she turns to leave but the young's voice halts her. "I told you what I need already." she cries.

"I meant, call me when you need something really important." the nurse adds with a smile, with this said she leaves and the young girl frowns.

"And who are you?. Oh, let me guess, you are the man who knocked me down?. Or you might be a good Samaritan who help me after the man who knocked me down ran away, something which is really rare. So?..." she gaze at me with her query stare.

"Unfortunately, the first option is true." I retort with an emotionless glance fixed at her. "I knew it!" she screams happily. Weird! I tell myself.

"How can I contact your parents?" I intrude her excitement.
