"It's been two days now and the man you came with hasn't opened his eyes yet. He's still unconscious and your wedding is in a few days. This situation isn't getting better." Edmonton remind me, I'm seated in his office, frustrated.

"I wish there was something I could do to wake him up. He's our only key to Eve and you know that. Trust me they will pay for every single time they made us waste." I grind my teeth in fury.

"Who dares to kidnap the Princess of the Solis kingdom." Edmonton grind his teeth.

The atmosphere is tense...

"I will go with some troopers to the site where we were attacked, if I can find something, any hint which can help us in our search."

"Good Idea, my Prince. I will follow you to the site."

"No, you will stay here and take care of the palace. I guess your presence is much more needed here." I get up from where I'm seated.

"Ok, my prince." Edmonton nods while I walk out of the office.

I take some troopers along with me. We ride to the site where I was attacked.

I still, feel guilty...

We search the whole place in vain, we find nothing reliable. Standing on these spots makes me sick, how could I leave the princess alone.

With the troopers, I decide to pay a visit to my father, the kingdom isn't very far from where I was attacked.

I barge into the room, and find my father seated on his throne as usual. The King immediately waves everyone out as he sees me coming in anger

"Dad swear you have nothing to do with this." I yell.

"How dare you insinuate such a thing. Your marriage with the princess is in my best interest and part of my plans. So how on earth will I kidnap her?" the king is sick of my constant attacks.

"Dad sometimes I doubt your interest, I don't understand your plans. I hope you have nothing to do with her disappearance?" I saunter closer.

"Trust me my son, I'm as worried as you are. I want her to be found soon, the marriage has to take place as planned. If you need my help let me know."

"I hope so." I carelessly utter "I'm going back to the Solis Clan, with Edmonton we will find a the solution to this. Hopefully, we find her on time for the wedding."

I turn to leave, then I turn back to him "Let everyone know that the princess was kidnapped. Also announce that, anyone who brings true information will be highly rewarded. Every help is needed since we don't know which kingdom has attacked us." I exclaim.

"Sure, don't forget to send me information about the progress of the situation. For now, The Princess' enemy is our enemy."

"I will, dad." With that said I immediately leave his presence.

The troopers were out on their horses waiting for me. I rapidly mount my horse and we all jog back to the solis kingdom.

It's night when I reach the Solis palace. I enter the gate and unmount my horse, breathing in dismal once I see Maryline seated at the entrance to the palace. I immediately understand she's waiting for me.

"Where is Eve?" she immediately gets up when she sees me without her, which breaks my heart. "We are still searching for her."

"What took you so long then?. I thought you found where she was and you went to bring her back home." she cries in frustration and this makes me frustrated as well.

"You need to rest, woman."  I walk a head of her like I didn't care about what she said.

"Don't you understand she might be dead now?" she runs to me in tears and lunches my dress from behind, halting me from moving.

"Wherever or whatever is happening to her right now, your tears won't help her, trust me." I pause, turning to her "Help yourself and stop crying. And if you find the need to, do it far away from me." with that I walk to my room.

She follows me and I bang the door at her face.

"Shit! Maryline you make me sick." I murmur to myself as I hit the wall.

"Damn! Adams, you make me sick," she yells and walks away frustrated.

She goes to Edwards office, she usually hides and goes there whenever she feels lonely, depress or when she has no one to talk to.

Explainable guilt is burning her...

~ ~   *** Flashback ***  Maryline's flash back *** ~ ~

Maryline walked into the King's room.

"How in Mary!." the king Edward asked.

"As if you care!. I didn't have time today to go see her in the human's world. I hope she's fine. OMG, she was barely three months old when you forced me to give her out." Maryline cries.

"She wasn't that small, I guess she has grown now it's been three years. I did what was necessary for her, don't play the blame game with me we're all responsible for our acts." he carelessly said.

"Yes, and I was ready to carry my cross, but you didn't give me any chance to. You forced me to give her out. So it's different."

"You know it doesn't work like that, such things are good to be hidden. Or did you want that child to suffer?. And You know the feeling I have for this gender. Seeing her constantly would have broken my heart." he spooks with so much disgust in his tone.

"So, what am I doing here then?. Since you so much hate our gender." she frowned.

"You know it's different, Maryline."

"Nothing is different, your just a hypocrite and selfish man. You hate the gender but it doesn't stop you from enjoying everything the gender has to offer. What an irony Edward!... Pathetic at a point." she spoke in disguise.

Indeed Late King Edward Jones was a selfish man when it came to the female Gender.

"Don't you dare speak to me in this manner!. I'm your king." he scolded her.

"I don't even know what I'm doing here." she turned to leave but he held her on her waist.

She melted and subdued to his touch. "You are so selfish. I hate you, Edward. Anyway, I have to leave." she added.

He pulled her closer to him "You don't decide when to leave or not. I'm your king and I decide everything for you." he pulls her to the bed and he leaned on her.

She frowned but what could she do?.

"I'm your King and you do everything I order you to without any exception. Never you raise your voice at me." he laid her in bed and he climbed on her, slowly undressing her.

She did hate having him by her side, she hated his selfish behaviour and all that was attached to his dark side. Aside from that, she knew deep within him he had some kind of affection for her.

Perhaps she was right, perhaps it was her way of consoling herself that he wasn't just using her to satisfy his wants.

~ ~ Present ~~

Maryline seats on late Edwards desk with tears rushing down her cheeks, effortlessly. She prays to the moon god to take care of her little girl who knows nothing about the world.

"Edward help your daughter. I know all the resentment and frustration you felt when looking at her. But I also know that deep down you have a little consideration for  her as you always had for me, deep down. Come and help your daughter. She needs your help"... She cries...

"Even if you never loved her, come and help her. She has been facing a lot and you didn't give her the proper training for such moments just because she was a girl. Now, see the consequences... You always thought only of yourself." She immediately gets up from his desk, whipping her tears.

"I don't even know what I am doing here." she leaves the office.

As soon as she closes the door behind her, Edmonton gets out of where he was hiding wandering what Maryline was coming there to do.

He continued with what he was doing before she barged in.
