Chapter 35: Chapter 35
I bite down on my lip, willing myself not to cry. At that moment, a hand drags me back and I'm been pressed into my aunt's chest.
"There, there, Bella, remember that you're supposed to miss me first."
I hear my uncle sigh before I am released. He doesn't want to argue with my aunt, it's a battle he won't be able to win.
"You must be Shelia. I've seen your visit in the stars." I turn in time to see Summer holding Shelia's hand with a weird expression and Shelia watches her with the same.
My aunt steps in before Summer can say anything else. "Sorry about my daughter, she says things like this sometimes. You see, she's a star fey."
Shelia grins. "You're a really life fey, that so cool but then you can't turn into a wolf? "
"Yeah, wolves are animals anyway, very digusting animals..." Summer notices her mistakes and wears a nervous smile. "Well, some of them are."
Summer laughs out, nervously. If she didn't say that then my aunt would have grounded her. Summer then wears a serious expression as she turns to Shelia fully.
"You have a very powerful curse inside you. One that is full of hate and revenge, it is still growing inside you."
"What?" Andrew exclaims and Nathan sighs.
"That's also one of the reasons we all came here, Summer, I need you to lock the curse in her, can you do that?"
"Yeah, of course but why didn't you do it yourself."
"It's not really my area of expertise. I didn't want to make any mistakes that could be critical." From the corner of my eye, I see Andrew clentching his fist.
He looks really mad but what kind of big brother would he be if he wasn't.
"Why are you helping her?" I drag my attention back to Summer as she speaks. "She's just a simple mortal."
"Take that back right now." Andrew takes several threatening steps forward and my uncle takes a more threatening stance.
This all happens all at once.
The next second, my aunt holds my uncle back and even I can see the confusion in his eyes.
"I'm not trying to be rude but haven't you ever wondered why a god like him is trying to save a human's life." Andrew and summer both stand face to face.
"It's simple." Nathan speaks, getting everyone's attention and then he stares at me. "Because Isabella asked me too and Shelia is close friend of hers."
"So you finally got friends." Ronald scoffs and the tension disappears just like that.
A small yawn comes from the back and David come forward, pushing his way through. "Isabella is a pretty cool lady but she is a bit weird to me."
"Yeah, tell me about it-" Summer gasp is low but us werewolves can hear it. I turn to find out what went wrong but she stares at David and he stares back at her strangely too.
The sound of Summer's retreating footsteps break the small silence and I watch her look down at her hands.
Right now, I don't know if she is sad or happy but I know what is happening and I'm sure of it.
Summer just found her mate and it's David. The advantages a fey has are numerous, a fey can find their mate even at an early stage but us werewolves are different.
"I should get going now. I have magic class soon." Summer backs away even more and hurries off.
Aunt Minerva is the one who teaches her so we know that something is wrong with her, at least some of us. Well, maybe she's just shy...
David frowns and looks away. I bet that he is been pulled to chase after her.
"I think I should show you to your rooms." Aunt Minerva breaks the silence and turns to me. "Isabella, you can stay in your old room. It's already prepared for you and I'm hoping that you won't mind if Nathan stays with you."
Yes, I will mind!
I open my mouth to tell her otherwise but when I think about the outcome my protest will bring, I can't will myself to say it.
"Yeah, sure. That will be already. Let's go Nathan." I grab Nathan's hand and drag him with me. "I'll see you guys when I'm settled in."
I inform Andrew before we are out of sight and he nods.
My room is just the way I kept it before my aunt decided to ruin the place. It's... refreshing to see it again.
When I see Nathan standing on the other side of the door, looking around, it makes me frown.
"Aren't you going to come in?"
He cracks a small smile when his eyes connect to mine. "I remember that a certain beautiful princess told me not to enter her room once."
I flush, knowing that he is talking about me.
"Maybe Summer was in a bad mood that day," I reply aloop, hiding the fact that his statement makes me feel embarrassed.
He takes a step inside but leaves the door open. Is he trying to make me feel safe?
"But I'm being serious about this, if you don't want me here I'll have another room for myself."
I shake my head if he does that, my uncle and aunt will question me to find out why he asked for another room.
"It's okay, really. We've been staying in the same room since Evelyn's birthday party. I can handle another."
His yellow eyes bore into mine. "I know that you haven't gotten any time to really think about us and us being in the same room together might be overwhelming for you."
I look away. "I just don't want my uncle and aunt to worry. If you take a separate room then they'll think that something bad happened between us or..."
"I see... " He strolls to close the door and moves to the farthest corner of the room. "I think that this is okay. I know a way around it."
Hmm? What is he talking about.
Immediately, a yellow cicle appears under his feet and then a king sized bed pops out of nowhere and followed suit by a wall with a window on it.
It covers my view of Nathan. The room is big and able to sustain us the way we want it to, even after that stunt Nathan pulled.
He opens the little window on the wall and pokes his head out with a goofy smile on his face.
"Will this be alright."
My lips pull into a smile as sit on the bed. "Sometimes I forget that you have powers." My eyes graze through the wall. "It looks almost real, like this room has been like this from the beginning."
He tilts his head at my direction. "This way, I can give you time to think."
He stands up and moves further into the part of his room. I can't see him but I hear the sound of sheets ruffling.
He is laying on his bed?
I follow his actions but I face the wall sperating us. I don't know if he is doing the same.
"You're like a neighborhood next door." I hear more ruffling from the other side of the wall.
"I think I forgot to make a door." He chuckles, though I can't see him I hear the smile in his voice.
"But you didn't close off the other side, did you?" I frown. I don't think he did.
That part of the room, technically his room is accessible if I walk there; walk past the edge of the wall he has made.
"Should I?"
"No, no. I like it this way, neighbor next wall." I say.
He repeats the last three words I said and laughs. "I like it."
