Chapter 34: Chapter 34

I glare at the clothes in my hands, wishing it was my wolf as I squeeze it in my hands.

"Now I regret asking you to tell me."

'I kind of knew this would happen.' She replies.

As instructed by Nathan, when I am dressed, I head out to meet the others and just as I expected, they are ready to go.

Shelia is fascinated by Nathan's eyes and can't stop asking question even after he tells her that it's his eyes original colour.

"Then why did you hide it all this while?" She asks.

Nathan turns to me when he see me coming. "Let's get going."

Even David is coming?

I never pegged him for one who would follow us...

He notices my stare and rolls his eyes.

"I'm only coming because no one will stay here with me, nothing more."

My lips stretches into a smile. He really wants to come, I can tell. His denial and attitude is just for show.

It turns out that Jasmine did come but unfortunately she won't be coming with us.

When no one makes a move to the go anywhere, I frown, they are all waiting around.

"Why aren't we moving to the car?"

At that moment, a portal opens in front of us and Nathan turn to me.

"Does this answer your question?"

"I never knew that you could do that?"

From the corner of my eyes, I see the others jumping into the portal till only both of us are left.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me, things that I could show you when the time comes."

I make up my mind to ignore him before I walk into the portal, appearing on the other side.

"Hands up in the air."

Turning to the side, I see guards surrounding us and Nathan jumps out of the portal behind me, recognization flashes in their eyes.

"Lower your weapons. It's just the princess." That voice... It sounds familiar.

The guards do as the person commands and quickly scatter away leaving behind one person...

"Beta Paul!" I giggle and hurry into his arms and he staggers backs.

"That was unexpected. You never hugged me before."

I pull away with a frown. "Why can't I start now."

He sighs, "You're mated now, you can't be hugging me like that."

"But you're mated too so it's no biggie. I know the your other half since I was fifteen and besides, my mate isn't a wolf, meaning that he isn't possessive." I'm fifty percent sure of that.

Coming back to my senses, I drag him to where the others are standing.

"I forgot to introduce you to my friends, guys meet Beta Paul and Beta Paul meet- "

Shelia rushes forward and pushes me away. "I'm Shelia, can you show me your wolf."

"Err..." I giggle nervously as I push her away and then I step into his front view while he tries to look behind me with confusion all over his face.

"What are you-"

"Let's go see my uncle then." I glare at Shelia when I have managed to move Beta Paul's attention from her. It looks like I can ignore Nathan for a few minutes. This is great!

'No, it's not.'

"Shut up." I glower at my wolf and Beta Paul turns to me with a hum of confusion.

The others at the back didn't hear my exclamation.

"Are you talking to your wolf? I don't think I have ever heard you speak to her before."

"That's part of the reason we came here, I'd really like to see the little princess." Nathan says as he stands behind me, spooking me immediately and even though I try to hide it, I'm sure be noticed.

"Little princess?" Shelia jumps to my side with her eyes, glimmering with fascination. "There's a little princess?"

"Yeah, she's twelve but she is much more matured than you. I'd say that you behave like her age and she, yours."

Shelia, glares at me this time around and I smile.

"Why are you so annoying like my snot-nosed senior brother."

Andrew ears definably picks this up quickly and they begin to bicker.

Beta Paul turns and speaks to me. "You've changed, you really have and I guess this is prove that your mate has been taking good care of you."

His eyes moves to the mark on my neck and he frowns. l bet that he is wondering how I got it since Nathan is not a werewolf.

Paul leads us to the castle and along the way, Nathan bumps into me, not only once or even twice. His job today is probably to annoy me.

'It's not like you're innocent.' And my wolf doesn't know when to shut up.

"lsabella."

I hear multiple voices calling my name and before I know it, people are pinning me down with hugs, by their scents I know that it's my aunt Minerva and my cousin Summer.

"Hey, why didn't you call?" It's Summer who asks with her eyes glistering with tears as she punches my arm. "I missed you, stupid."

I'm sure she notices the eyes on us, that's why she clears her throat, gets off me and looks away.

"I mean, I thought you were dead or something."

"I missed you too." I laugh.

Aunt Minerva is kneeling beside me and she pinches my face, drawing my attention to her. She looks pretty mad.

"I understand that you have been living with your mate and you have him to look after you now but you could have at least called. The only way we could hear about you and makes sure that you were okay was through Nathaniel."

Nathaniel? Is that what he told them to call him?

With a sigh, Aunt Minerva stands on her feet and also help me to get up.

"It's not like I've missed you or anything." Ronald is standing behind Summer, looking as aloof as ever and I roll my eyes with a small smile. Beside them is my uncle.

"I never expected you to." Immediately, I rush into my uncle's arms. His familiar scent brings tears to my eyes .

"I missed you so much, uncle." I barely croak out.

His hands tighten on me as he kisses my hair. "I missed you too, Bella."
