Chapter 77: Chapter 77

Kayden's POV

"Answer me!!" He screamed at me and I gave him an expression, which clearly showed that he should shut the f*ck up.

I wasn't in the mood to banter words, especially not with him, and I was glad one look was all it took for him to understand that.

I tried to listen to where the sound was coming from, but it was as if the more I concentrated, the more I got lost.

Angrily I stumped my feet on the floor and I heard her voice again.

"Kayden is that you?" She spoke so sweetly.

How could her voice come from beneath me?. As silly as it sounds, I laid on the floor, gluing my ears to it. I just had to check if I could hear her voice again, but she was silent.

"Heaven!!!" I screamed her name at the top of my lungs, hitting the ground with my fist.

"Kayden" her voice became faint.

"Whose room is underneath?" I turned to Emma's father who lowered his eyebrows in confusion.

"Nobody's room is there" he shook his head, and moved two steps backwards away from me. I couldn't hold back my anger, so I grabbed him by the collar and forced him to talk by shaking him roughly.

"You better tell me whose room is beneath us, or else I'll make sure you are buried six feet below" I warned him, not minding the fact that he was a king and I was threatening him in his own kingdom.

I didn't give a f*ck about his status and wealth. All I wanted was Heaven and I didn't care if I had to set an entire kingdom ablaze to get her back in my arms.

I could smell her, I could feel her presence. I was sure that it wasn't just an imagination, it was this man who's keeping me away from her.

"Tell me now!!" I lost my temper and was about to throw a blow at him, but he managed to escape from my grip just in time.

"The dungeon…it's the only room that's downstairs" he staggered, still trying to stand properly on his feet. I took a good look at him and sighed.

How couldn't I have thought about that, every castle has a dungeon? It's normal, even mine, but who would dare take my Heaven to the dungeon?.

"Lead the way" I stretched my hands in front of him without pointing in any direction in particular. He looked at my hands, and then looked at me.

"I can't take you there, anyone who is thrown in that dungeon cannot come out even if they do. They will be dead by the time they are out" he shook his head vigorously as if I just said something abominable.

"If you don't take me there right now, I'll eventually find it myself. And I will surely throw you in there, so we can see how you are going to make it out alive" I warned him and he swallowed hard, before he nodded his head in agreement.

He led me into a room, and down some stairs which led to a wooden door on the floor.

"That is the dungeon" he opened it and the smell that came out of it just threw me aback.

"Kayden" Heaven called out to me and by the surprised look he had on his face. I could tell that even he had heard her voice.

Not thinking twice, and forgetting about the horrible stench I jumped inside at once.

"Heaven!! Heaven!!" I called out to her in that dark place, the only source of light was the trapdoor from on top, which I guess I could call the roof. Apart from that, the place was as dark as hell, I guess I had found the hell fit for a demon.

She didn't respond but I could feel her, and although it was very difficult for me to perceive her scent through the horrible stench. I could still smell her and I knew she was very close by.

I moved farther away from the trap door and it became so dark I could barely see anything.

"Heaven!! Heaven please say something" I called out to her, I wanted to give up and turn around.

But I heard her moaning, she wasn't moaning in pleasure, she was in severe pain and I could tell that she was trying to survive, and each breath she took was more painful than the last.

"Kay…." She tried to say my name, but it ended up as a whisper, before she began to breathe heavily.

It became hard for me to hear her, and tracking her down with her scent was close to impossible because of the way the dungeon smelled.

The place was also too dark for me to see, and I wasn't with my phone to use its torchlight.

My head was so messed up, everything was spinning.

All my powers, my ability to smell her and hear her just started dying ,because of the way my brain was distorted.

I could hear her breathing but I couldn't find her, it was driving me completely crazy and it made me remember that dreadful night.

"Kayden you have to go now" I clearly recalled my mum's voice, as she tried to push me away from her.

The kingdom had just been attacked, and she was trying to save me from the Invaders, but I was too stubborn to listen to anything she had to say. That night was indeed one of the most horrible days of my life.

Only the thoughts of it gave me chills, and it also made me remember that I could see in the dark if I put all my thoughts into it.

But it had been a long time, so I tried to do that. For the sake of Heaven, I just had to give it a try and hope for the best to come out of it. I sat on the semi-wet floor and took a deep breath, while I faced my head toward what seemed to be the ceiling.

Clenching my fist and trying my best to forget what was happening around me. Then I opened my eyes to see if it had worked.
