Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Heaven's POV

I looked at the loads of work in front of me, and shook my head. I tried my best to concentrate on the work, but it was very difficult.

Kayden has been avoiding me for the past two days, he makes sure he is gone before I wake up and only returns when I'm asleep.

He even had guards stand outside his office, so only the people he invited in there can actually get in, what manner of lifestyle is this?

"Heaven.. look out" I heard a female voice in my head and soon felt a hot liquid on my lap.

"Oh gosh!!" I screamed and sighed at how carried away I was, that I didn't notice my coffee spilling all over me.

Now I had to go clean it up in the washroom.

Kayden's POV

The guards accompanied me outside the company, I just wanted to go straight home. I was tired plus I can't continue to spend nights at the club, just because I am avoiding my own wife, well my contracted wife that is.

And unfortunately her car was just in front of mine, did I just say her car? My car that came to pick her from work was in front of mine.

I shook my head horizontally and brought out my phone just to keep myself busy, but then I heard gunshots, this time I wasn't the one being attacked.

Heaven's POV

"Oh no! What was that?" I found myself asking the guard that was driving the vehicle.

"I don't know your highness" he replied as he began to slow down the car, more like the car began to slow itself down. One of our tyres had been punctured.

He came down from the car, to check what happened and I got impatient, and also went to see what the problem was, but I met an undesired surprise.

On stepping out from the car, an unknown man had pointed a gun at me, using his leather gloves that were tightly stuck to his hand to cover my mouth, making sure I wasn't making a noise.

The car driving just behind us seemed to have gone far behind.

I looked around and felt hopeless because the guard was also held at gunpoint with no weapon whatsoever to defend himself.

"Just be quiet, I promise to make your death quick" the unpleasant voice spoke in its deep tone.

I didn't even have the guts to run, he was so we'll built that just at the sight of his body, I got very scared and closed my eyes. The sound of the next gunshot made my ears twitch.

Was I dead now? I kept on touching myself but I didn't feel any blood, maybe I am dead and gone to Heaven?.

I soon felt manly hands wrapped around me, familiar hands and these hands felt very comfortable, they made me feel safe.

I slowly opened my eyes, only to find Kayden wrapping his hands around me, while the unknown man didn't stop pointing the gun at him.

"If you don't move away, I will shoot you and still end up killing her SO MOVE!" The man shouted at him but he didn't listen, as he enveloped me like a shield.

I didn't even have the courage to open my eyes, I heard gunshots after gunshots. There were four gunshots in a row, and the next clicking sound of the gun refused to sound as a gunshot.

My guess was that the gun had completely run out of bullets.

"Now it's my turn!" Kayden said, and looked at the man with bloodshot red eyes.

He tried to run away, but failed woefully as Kayden grabbed his wrist and threw him on the floor, making him hit his head painfully on the floor.

Kayden picked the unknown man up and removed the mask from his face, throwing a heavy punch on his face making him puke blood.

"Kayden please stop hurting him" I tried to free the man from Kayden's grip but he didn't listen to me, he didn't even move an inch.

Kayden looked at me and then back at the man before landing another blow on his stomach, causing him to fly up in the air and hitting the ground, making a loud banging noise. I even felt the ground vibrating beneath my feet.

I saw him lie down on the ground, bleeding from his mouth and not breathing.

"Kay…Kay…Kayden you just k*lled him" I tugged Kayden's shirt consistently.

"HE JUST TRIED TO K*LL YOU, AND YOU ARE CRYING BECAUSE HE IS DEAD" Kayden reprimanded me, and the guard who was driving me earlier just stood there speechlessly.

Kayden geared his attention towards the guard, and walked over to him, taking him by the collar.

"So you were here and he pointed a gun at her?!!! You didn't do anything to defend her? you f**l. Do you know who she is?" He slapped him across the face, the guard staggered and tried to stand on his feet, but still he ended up on the floor.

"She is my wife you f**l. You don't follow her around to admire how beautiful she is, you follow her to protect her.

And it seems you are unable to do that!!!" Kayden picked him up from the floor, and landed another ear deafening slap on his face.

"Kayden stop!! Leave him!!" I struggled to unclink Kayden's fingers from the guard's collar.

"Now you better stand there and listen to me!!!" Kayden scolded me and made me shiver, I couldn't even muster the courage to look at him.

He rubbed his hand vigorously on his head, grinded his teeth and clenched his fist before throwing a blow at the car, making its metal body to bend inwards. He was trying so hard to swallow his words.

"Get in the car!!!" He ordered me, and pointed towards his car that was behind us. So it was his car that had been following mine. I rushed towards his car but the guard still remained in his position.

"Do you want an invitation?!!!" He asked the guard with a stern look.

Realizing his mistake, the guard ran inside the car.

While the two guards were seated in the front seats of the car, Kayden and I quietly sat behind the car without saying a word to each other throughout the journey home.
