Chapter 73: Chapter 73

Zamiel's POV

"Hannah!" I tried to call out to her, with the hope that she would reply to me and get up.

Why do you want to keep hurting me like this?. I still blame myself for this, if I had just taken you home like I should have, then all this wouldn't be happening.

If I had arrived earlier, then you wouldn't have to be going through this pain right now. I don't know who did this to you, but believe me, I am going to make that person regret ever being created.

I just need to know him , please wake up and tell me who that person is.

You are usually a chatter box, saying many things at once, but seeing you so quiet makes me unhappy. I don't know what else I am going to do, please say something, anything.

I was losing my mind, this girl was making me act like a complete fool, as I kept talking to myself, but she didn't respond.

I wanted to give up on her, I thought it would be best for me to return to Kayden's room before someone sees me and begins to ask me questions.

I placed my hand on her, and k*ssed her on the forehead, turning around to leave.

I felt her fingers move in my palms, it was like she didn't want me to go. It was a small movement, but it didn't waste time to send a tear pouring down from my eye.

So, I fulfilled her unspoken wish and stayed with her.

At a mansion, just at the center of the city

"What do you mean you cannot find my daughter anywhere? I just gave you her phone number, I thought you were going to track it down!!!!" Hannah's father slammed his fist on the table, before standing up.

For the past two to three days that she went missing, he hired a group of men to find her.

He even got the police involved since he was scared that one of his business competitors might have taken her.

"Sir, we are sorry, we are trying our best. Yes, we did try to track her number, but it ended up leading us here" a tall, fully chested man spoke with a deep voice.

Amongst the four men, he seemed to be the boldest, and hence their leader.

He spoke very confidently, without any atom of fear, whereas his colleagues seemed to be a bit shaky. But, somehow they managed to still maintain a straight face.

"What?" Hannah's father was dumbfounded when he was handed his daughter's phone.

Of course, he could recognize it. but the phone was more than drenched.

"Why is the phone so wet, it looks quite damaged as well?" He asked the man, as he was shaking the phone as more excess water poured from it.

"We don't know why sir, but we have a feeling that she might have been kidnapped. Considering the condition the phone is in" the man responded as well.

"Do you think she is still alive?" Hannah's father asked, with just a little atom of hope left in him. He still wanted to believe that he would see his daughter one day.

"I can't tell that sir, but we will just have to hope for the best" the man's deep voice, again echoed in the mansion. While he raised his head high.

"Alright, you should go search for her. I won't rest until I find my daughter, dead or alive" he said the word "dead" with such a heavy heart.

Joan's mum stood by the side of the pillar, and watched as the men left before she made her way toward her husband.

He stood up from the couch immediately after he saw her coming, and headed in the opposite direction.

"You Are avoiding me a lot these days. Can you at least listen to what I have to say to you? The way you are acting is just not fair" she tried to plead with him, keeping an innocent face but he was in no mood to look at her.

"It is your fault that my daughter is nowhere to be found. And you are telling me that what I am doing is unfair?" He raised an eyebrow at her, with his sentences accompanied by a thunderous voice.

"..." She remained silent, looking at her feet she felt guilty, and bad…she didn't feel bad because Hannah went missing.

She was feeling bad because he had stopped giving her the daily allowances he normally gave. She knees she had screwed up, and wished she handled the matter in a better manner than she did.

"I am sorry…I am. How was I supposed to know that she would run off to go and see her sugar daddy or her boyfriend?..." She tried to turn the tables around, and make Hannah look like the bad one, but he had interrupted her just in time.

"SHUT UP!!" He thundered, and then took a pause.

"Will you shut that thing that you call it? Can you hear yourself, if Joan had been in Hannah's position, would you be talking like this?!!" He scolded her, and she maintained silence.

"If anyone had been in your place. Believe me, I would have thrown them in jail for a very long time.

And trust me, I would have made sure their suffering would be one, that will last forever" he threatened her, pointing his right index finger at her.

She swallowed hard, knowing fully well that the situation had gotten more out of hand than it should have.

Or as the Nigerians would say it "water don pass garri".

Joan's POV

"Ahhh!" I screamed holding onto the rail of the stairs, as the floor was slippery and I nearly fell on my back.

My mum ran out immediately, rushing to come to check up on me while I kept an innocent face.

"You can't do anything right, you just can't. Are you sure, I am the one that gave birth to you, I am beginning to have my doubts" she scolded me, as she made her way down the stairs.
