Chapter 62: Chapter 62

She felt dizzy, and could barely see who was hitting her, or what the person was hitting her with. They even resulted in kicking her in the stomach, as she puked out blood.

Hannah could barely breathe again, as she struggled to breathe heavily from her mouth.

"Stay here I am coming for you….." Her stepmom, angrily went inside to get something more painful to hit her with, when she noticed that Hannah had become still and was no longer trying to defend herself.

She felt like she was showing her that her tortures weren't enough, not knowing that she had lost every strength she had.

Out of curiosity, Joan went inside with her mom as well.

One of the workers at the mansion pitied her.

The girl immediately ran towards her.

"Ma'am Hannah, please get up. You have to run away now, go before they come outside.

She tried to shake Hannah and get her to move, but she wouldn't budge. She feared that Hannah was already on the verge of death.

"I know you can hear me… please get up" the worker cried out, she loved Hannah so much as she was the only kind one amongst them.

Hannah had even helped this worker pay her fees in the past, now she felt the need to return the favor.

She was looking very terrified and shaken, as she looked around, just to check if anyone was watching her.

When she felt like the coast was clear, she dragged Hannah on the floor, because she was too heavy for her to carry. She didn't want Hannah's blood stains to touch her as well, as that would give her off.

The girl forcefully pushed the metal gate open. It wasn't easy, but she managed to get her out of the compound before her stepmom came out.

Hannah laid on the floor outside the gate, half unconscious.

Luckily for her, the rain had washed away the trace of blood in the compound. The worker quickly locked the gate, and ran inside the building to go change her clothes.

"WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS THAT SL*T?" Her stepmom came out of the house, with a mop stick.

Shouting at the top of her lungs, while she walked around the compound, looking for Hannah.

It didn't take Joan more than two seconds to join her mom in the search for her stepsister.

They couldn't find Hannah anywhere in the compound, and they didn't even think to search outside, because they were too upset and in a haste, to think clearly with their brains.

"I cannot believe that she managed to escape" Joan clenched her fist in anger, while she walked towards the entrance of the house.

"Somebody lock that gate!!!!" Joan's mum screamed, and the same worker who had helped Hannah ran towards the gate.

She stood there for a few seconds. She thought that Joan's mum would quickly go inside, so she could sneak out and go take Hannah to the hospital or something, but then again, it was in the middle of the night.

Just past midnight, and where was she going to get help for Hannah's sake? She wasn't even sure an emergency line was going to respond, she was totally confused.

"And what are you standing there for? Will you get inside and do some work? I don't pay your dad a*s to lazy around!!"

Joan's mom shouted at the girl, and the poor thing shook in fear. Swallowing her saliva she ran inside, now the only thing that could save Hannah was to be something bigger than her.

She laid there almost lifeless with the rain beating on her, she couldn't even cry or shout for help.

Because with the beatings she had received, death was definitely on the corner…

Zamiel's POV

Just when I thought that I managed to get myself some sleep, it didn't take too long for my eyes to pop open.

I watched the ceiling for several seconds and decided to stand up again, to get some fresh air by the window.

I walked towards the window and discovered that I had left my phone by the window.

I looked at my phone, and if it had eyes, it would have been looking at me back and be like "what are those eyes for? keep moving".

I chuckled at my silly thoughts, and a faint smile appeared on my face. Why was I feeling this way, it was past midnight already and I couldn't get Hannah off my mind.

I was still thinking about her, and why she had been ignoring my calls all this while.

Maybe she wasn't with her phone, then at least she would have called me back or left some kind of message….but it was late already.

I just had too many thoughts, and they all made me restless.

I just hope I didn't do anything to upset her unknowingly. I summoned the courage to dial her number for the umpteenth time that day.

It kept on ringing, but no one was answering. I was about to cut the call when the call finally went through.

I was silent for a while, and didn't know what to say.

Just when I mustered the courage to voice out something, I heard the splashing sound of water.

It sounded like it was raining heavily, why was she so close to the rain?

Was she in the rain? I didn't understand what was going on, but I still felt worried though.

"Hello, Hannah….can you hear me?" I asked her, from my end of the phone, but she didn't answer.

"Uhh…" she moaned, and it didn't sound like she was moaning out of pleasure. She seemed to be in pain, a severe one at that.

"Please say something" I begged her, with my hands still shaken.

"Hmmn….hmmn" I heard yet another moan.

Why was I feeling like she needed help? And she was struggling to talk.

I didn't end the call, as I connected my phone to my laptop, trying my best to track her number down.
