Chapter 44: Chapter 44

She quietly came down from his lap, and took her seat.

Kayden adjusted his seat back to normal so he could start driving again.

"What are you doing?" Kayden asked Heaven, when he noticed that she had begun sniffing him.

"I love your scent. I want to inhale it more" she pouted her lips. He just chuckled at her innocence.

"Woah!" She exclaimed when he suddenly stopped the car.

"We are finally here" he announced, as she looked out the tinted glass. Just to discover that he had stopped at the airport.

"Remember, I told you we were going to the airport" he cleared her doubts, as she shook her head slowly, as a confirmation.

He got out of the car almost immediately, he didn't want to waste any more time. He felt that enough time had already passed, and it was close to noon already.

"Let's go" he opened the door for her.

Bringing out his phone to call someone.

Three men soon arrived in a black and black attire, each carrying a carrier for their goods.

Kayden led the way, as he held Heaven so delicately, like a flower.

"You are welcome sir," a man dressed in white greeted him, as they walked to the runway.

"Kayden, why is the airport so empty? Why didn't we go for check-in?"She whispered to him.

"Because the airport is mine" he whispered back, and her eyes nearly popped open.

Zamiel's POV

"No!!" I gave a firm reply to my parents who had walked in on me, sitting on my bed. I looked at them with deadly eyes, wondering why I had left my door open in the first place.

******

"I didn't ask for your opinion Zamiel. I am just trying to inform you about my intentions for you" Alex got up from the bed, walking slowly towards him.

"And since when did you start making decisions for me?" He lowered his eyebrows, looking at Alex suspiciously.

"Since I became your father" Alex raised an eyebrow at him.

He had become tired of Zamiel's constant stubbornness. He listened to no one else, but himself, and he was slowly becoming like Kayden. They were the same, only with very few differences.

"Just stop it okay? I have told you this before, and I am going to keep telling you. Until reality dawns on you.

ALEX, YOU ARE NOT MY FATHER" Zamiel made sure that he stretched his last sentence, just enough for a newborn baby to understand.

"And I will keep treating you as my son. For as long, as I am married to your mother" Alex stood up to him.

Something he had been restricting himself from doing all these years.

"Oh well, then I see a divorce shortly" Zamiel gave off an evil smirk.

"Zamiel just stop it! Okay, stop it! I have had enough of both of you. Your father has made the final decision and that is what stands. I don't care about what you say" Keren waved her hands in the air, closing her eyes tightly.

"Well, you all can suit yourselves and entertain your so-called guests who you are expecting tomorrow " Zamiel grabbed the bottle of water on his dressing table, gulping it down like he had spent a week in the desert.

"Why don't you just meet the girl first, before deciding on whether or not you will marry her? I just want the best for my son, is that too much to ask?" Keren gave him an innocent face, hoping that he would change his mind.

She wanted to set him up with some billionaire's daughter, she wanted him to get married and have a child. So his chances of becoming king will be increased.

According to the law of the kingdom, a crowned prince is only given the position of the king, when he is married after his father's death.

Zamiel isn't even the crowned prince, not to talk more about being married. At least, if he gets married , when they succeed in getting rid of Kayden. Zamiel can become king, or so Alex had told her.

"If you wanted me to be happy. Then you wouldn't have married this man here, to begin with. He is worse than the devil " Zamiel replied to her, giving Alex daggering looks. If only looks could kill, then Alex would have been receiving the most royal burial.

"Zamiel, is either you are present her tommorow, and meet the girl I have chosen for you, or you leave the castle, and return to bury me" Keren tried to blackmail him emotionally. He looked at her for a few seconds, and walked over to the door.

"Your age mates are dead already. You are not going to be the first to die. So quit acting like you mean a lot to anyone, but your pathetic husband" he walked away from them.

"Alex" Keren let out a tear, resting her entire weight on her husband.

"It's okay, I am sure he is going to be present. '' He tried to sympathize with her, even when he also felt devastated by Zamiel's words and behavior.

Imogen's POV

I leaned on the pillar, watching as he drowned himself in alcohol. Shaking my head slowly with my folded arms, I disengaged myself from my thoughts and walked up to him.

"Let me guess, mom and dad again?" I asked him, taking the drink away from him.

"How did you know?" Zamy raised his head to look at me.

"I heard them talking about getting you a wife…." I couldn't finish my sentence, as I noticed the way he threw his head to the other side.

"Hmmn" he sipped more of the alcohol. I looked at the bottle, which was already half empty.

"Did you?.." I wanted to ask him, but took a sudden pause when I noticed that he was about to say something else.

"No, I didn't drink that much. This is my first glass" he responded.

I took a deep breath and leaned on him.
