Chapter 90: Chapter 90

Aleta decided to lift her feet from her son-in-law's hospital room. She never thought that the person who used to be her daughter's best friend would side with the person who killed her daughter. The woman clenched her fists tightly. She stomped her feet in the hospital corridor.

She didn't care about the uncomfortable stares of the people around her. Aleta turned towards the elevator to go down to the ground floor. She roughly pressed the elevator button marked with a downward arrow. Then she folded her arms across her chest as she waited for the elevator to open.

When the elevator doors opened, Aleta immediately got in. She no longer cared about her son-in-law's condition. Her current emotional outburst made her decide to return home.

"Davina! How could you betray my son," Aleta hissed as she clenched her fists. Aleta had misjudged Davina. She realized there was no one in this world who would truly be loyal. Aleta had encountered many cases of betrayal in her life.

However, when she felt the betrayal case happened to her child, Aleta just felt the pain as if it was a new thing. The middle-aged woman stepped out of the metal box that had brought her to the ground floor. Her personal driver who was sitting in the lobby of the hospital approached Aleta hurriedly.

"Madam, how is Mrs. Danas?"

Aleta glared angrily, silencing the driver.

"Just get the car ready. Take me home," Aleta ordered with a nod.

The driver immediately ran to the car park. He didn't want to keep his employer waiting too long because he already knew what the consequences would be.

Aleta looked back, finding herself recalling how Davina had defended Danas so blatantly that she still denied the facts in front of her eyes. The woman snorted in annoyance.

"I'm sure karma will apply to those of you who are not being fair with my son."

After saying that, Aleta then turned around and walked away from the hospital building.

Aleta threw her bag in a random place. She still felt upset with Davina's attitude, which she thought had betrayed her child.

"Davina you are really too much!"

Coupled with her son-in-law who seems to have found new happiness.

Yes, she didn't like seeing Danas' closeness with Jagad. Especially if Danas really likes Jagad. She wanted Danas to suffer forever. People like Danas didn't deserve happiness.

"Does Melvin already know about this?" Aleta muttered. "Argh! Danas, you shouldn't have people standing behind you like this. You're the scheming woman who killed my son."

Then Aleta thought about telling this to Melvin. From her son's attitude, Aleta was sure Melvin didn't know about what happened with his wife and his best friend. Aleta had to tell him. At least, as long as Danas was still the daughter-in-law of this family that woman could not have freedom.

Aleta, who finished taking a warm bath, immediately dried herself and got dressed. She opened her wardrobe and took the clothes she was comfortable wearing at home. It was already six o'clock. Melvin should also have arrived home.

She chose a floral dress that was below the knee length. Then the middle-aged woman sat at her dressing table. She pulled the drawer on the desk open. She took out a hairdryer. Aleta turned it on and dried her wet hair.

There was a knock on her bedroom door. It was followed by the voice of her maid telling her that dinner was ready.

"Ah, well, I'll wait for my son to come home," Aleta replied.

"Yes, ma'am," the maid said and footsteps could be heard leaving.

Aleta dried her hair again. Then she combed the white strands neatly. Some strands seemed to have fallen out. It could be age or something else. She seemed to have a lot on her mind lately. However, Aleta didn't bother too much.

She put the comb and hair dryer back in place. Then she put on some face cream. The woman always took care of her physical appearance in her old age.

After that, Aleta got up and walked out of the room. She was still going to wait for her son to come home because she didn't want to eat alone.

Aleta checked the clock on her wrist several times. When she heard the sound of the gate opening, followed by the very smooth sound of a car engine, typical of Melvin's car, Aleta immediately got up from her seat and rushed towards the main door.

She saw her son in a suit and a tired face getting out of his car. The man frowned when he saw his mother waiting for him at the door.

"Why are you standing here?" asked Melvin, confused because it was unusual to see his biological mother waiting for his return.

Aleta rolled her eyes lazily. "What's wrong with me waiting for you? This house is too big for just the two of us to live in, so I feel alone. Besides, I'm waiting for you because I want to eat quickly," Aleta replied with some annoyance.

Melvin shrugged as he handed his briefcase to the waiter. The young waiter moved quickly to accept the bag given by Melvin. Then another waiter directed Melvin and Aleta to the dining table. Meanwhile, the waiter who held Melvin's bag immediately retreated to the man's study.

"Did you go to the hospital?" Melvin asked. Aleta nodded her head.

The waiter pulled out a chair for her, and Aleta and Melvin sat down. Then another waiter arranged the food on the dining table.

"You know, Jagad and Danas' closeness looks different." Aleta opened her mouth.

Melvin, who was picking up his spoon and fork from beside his plate, only glanced at his mama. "What do you mean?" asked Melvin.

"You didn't notice?" Aleta said again. Her body leaned forward slightly. She shook her head as her son shook his head right and left.

"Don't you know how Jagad treats Danas? That man really cares for Danas. In fact, he's always there when he's in trouble. I'm sure that Jagad likes your wife. Especially Jagad's good attitude towards Danas. I'm very sure that he likes Danas. Very sure," Aleta exclaimed with her hands clenched into fists.

Melvin let out his breath. He then put the spoon and fork in his hand onto the plate.

" You're overreacting. That's all Melvin knows right now." The man picked up the glass on the table and took a sip.

Aleta, who was told like that by Melvin, clearly did not accept it. "Why are you accusing me?" she protested in a slightly raised tone.

" Mom, Jagad and Melvin are friends. Danas is Melvin's wife, so it's only natural for Jagad to be nice to Danas. Besides, Jagad is a soft and kind person. He's helpful and caring? Yes, you can just look at his work." Melvin defended Jagad.

This made Aleta even more furious. Because she was sure that Jagad saw Danas as more than that. More than just considering her best friend's wife. Aleta was sure Jagad liked Danas. It was very visible when Jagad looked at Danas. A worried look when Danas was sick. The warm gaze when Danas talked to him. All of that was clearly seen by Aleta. However, Melvin still didn't seem to believe it. Aleta sighed in resignation and didn't continue her argument. It would be useless if she said something like that again.

"It's better for us to continue eating, instead of talking about Jagad," Melvin said again as he picked up the spoon and fork on his plate.

After eating, Melvin immediately went into his room. He did his usual routine, from cleaning his body to changing his clothes. Afterward, he walked out of his room and walked towards his office.

The man still had to do his office work that he didn't have time to finish this afternoon. When it came to work, Melvin was tireless. In fact, he often lacked sleep or forgot to eat just because he was too absorbed in his work.

Melvin opened his office. Then he turned on the light in his office. He saw a briefcase lying on the sofa. Melvin picked up the bag and brought it to his desk. He started to open his laptop and some documents that he took from the bag.

Melvin rubbed his chin as he read a few sentences from the cooperation agreement document. He was so focused that he didn't even notice the presence of someone.

He began to realize the presence of a woman who was familiar to his eyes when Melvin wanted to type something on the laptop.

"What brings you to my office?"

Melvin furrowed his brow as the woman winked at him while unbuttoning her shirt one by one. She even took off her shoes. "Does Master need me?" she replied in a sensual tone.
