Chapter 8: Chapter 8
"Miss Renata is Master's girlfriend."
Danas's heart was beating very strongly, and the glass in her hand was tightly gripped. Her heart ached as if a thorn had been shot straight to the bottom of his heart.
A big secret like this was harrowing for her. Tears unnoticed rolled down her cheeks, quickly wiped away by her.
"Madam, are you all right?" asked Marvin, who saw his master's wife crying.
"Yeah, that's fine, carry on."
Marvin stared at the girl for a moment.
"God, why do you give trials to women who are so strong in heart. You should have made her marry a man who could value her more than she values herself,” thought Marvin with pity.
He told everything he knew while seeing Danas' response. He knew the girl was very hurt and devastated knowing everything.
Only a forced smile appeared on Danas's lips, but his eyes couldn't lie if he were hurt by all that explanation.
Her heart felt squeezed so tightly, sliced, and sprinkled with salt, it felt so sore, of course, there was a feeling of tightness in his heart.
“Thank you for telling me everything,” said Danas.
Now she knows why her husband hates her and wants her to suffer. It becomes a question for herself. Who is her husband's sister, who made her slandered for committing the murder?
She tried to get up, but her legs couldn't hold her against it.
Marvin, who had been watching from a distance, had intended to help, but the man held back while still watching his master's wife.
In he heart, felt pity.
Danas sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the man who was now her husband. When she saw the man's face, she was always hypnotized by his good looks.
The charm of the man she knew before he bankrupted the family was very different. A friendly person, always smiling, that figure is no longer there.
She now met only a cold, untouchable, and rough figure who was eager to make him suffer continuously. Her heart couldn't lie if there were still a bit of a feeling that might continue to grow if she was with that man.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, instantly wiped away by her.
"Renata... where are you," Regan raved in a dream, making his tears suddenly unstoppable.
She never imagined the man forcing her to marry just because her boyfriend left a week before the wedding. She did not imagine that in her marriage, there would be a third person, or actually, she was the third person.
The shortness of breath and the constant tears that didn't stop flowing made her decide to lock herself in the bathroom, turn on the shower, and start crying under the shower water.
Her crying stopped when she heard an extreme banging on the door.
"Y-yes, I'm going out," he cried as he took off his wet clothes, and then put on a grey bathrobe.
"What are you doing inside, why did it take so long to open the door."
"I-I'm taking a shower," she answered haltingly, then rushed out of there, letting her husband use the bathroom.
Regan just stared at the girl strangely. The man glanced at the wet clothes that were visible there. Even the toiletries were not touched at all.
But the man didn't care what Danas was doing. He preferred to wash his face. Occasionally he exhaled, then sniffed it.
There was a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
Danas immediately put on clothes, and when she saw her husband in the bathroom, she didn't want him to see her changing clothes.
When Regan came out, the man's eyes glanced at Danas, who was drying her hair, showing her long neck.
There was a feeling of annoyance when he saw that.
"Is he flirting with me right now?" he thought, seeing his wife who was sitting at the dressing table.
Regan walked to get mineral water in the fridge, but her eyes didn't leave Danas.
“Shit, am I seduced by him?” he cursed while opening the bottle lid loudly.
The evening is very crowded, but they choose not to come out. Even during the night, they didn't speak a word. Regan was busy with his gadget, while Danas was busy watching tv.
They even sleep separately. Danas slept on the sofa while Regan slept on the bed.
Mini dresses, loose hair, and round hats are the styles currently worn by Danas. Marvin told her if they were going out for a walk, that's why she chose clothes that were simple to wear. Even the mini dress she used she bought three years ago before her father went bankrupt, but still fits her perfectly.
A smile appeared when walking down the street that was passed by them, while Regan, who saw that, chuckled in annoyance.
Everything about Danas, he didn't like, his smile, even the joy Danas was feeling.
His mind was drifting, remembering his memories with Renata, the girl he adored. Thinking of that girl made him smile and sad at the same time.
After being satisfied visiting tourist attractions, they also chose to rest while filling their stomachs at a restaurant.
Danas ordered food in German, making Regan and Marvin wonder how the girl spoke German so fluently.
Remembering that Danas had often talked while on the road, Marvin understood that his master's wife spoke German.
“Mr. Regan?” someone approached their table.
Danas looked at the origin of the voice that greeted her husband. A married couple holding hands. An elderly man, even his hair was covered with grey hair.
Regan didn't respond. The man only responded when Marvin introduced the couple if they were important clients of their company.
"Are you on a business trip?" asked the man.
"No."
The man's eyes looked towards Danas sitting in front of Regan.
"Is she your sister? I heard that you have a younger sister, I didn't know she was very beautiful," said the old man, causing Regan's expression to change. “Does she have a girlfriend? If not, I'd like to introduce—”
"No, she is my wife, not my sister." Regan cut the man off.
“W-wife? Gee, I'm sorry. I don't know, if you already have a wife, she is very beautiful, very suitable to be your companion."
Regan forced a smile.
"We haven't been married long, we came for our honeymoon," Regan explained. "Right honey?" The man looked at Danas making the girl smile too, of course, a forced smile.
"W-we apologize for disturbing your time. Excuse us, please enjoy your honeymoon." the man then moved from there.
Danas saw her husband's emotional face. Lunch was cancelled because of that.
"Prepare for tonight's flight."
His command instantly made Marvin's eyes widen.
“A-are you serious, want to come back?”
"Yes."
"Okay, I'll get everything ready."
Danas lowered his gaze while tightly clenching her hand under the table.
"You satisfied, ruined my life?" Regan asked, making the girl look at him.
Their eyes met for a moment before Danas lowered his head again.
"I will always be wrong in your eyes," she thought.
