Chapter 71: Chapter 71
Renata immediately went into her room. She threw her body on the bed. She only had to wait to hear Danas' screams followed by the woman's sobs. Then everyone in the house would gather in her room. All the scenarios were already running in her brain.
Renata couldn't wait to pretend to sympathize later. She immediately got up from her bed. She took her cell phone and sent some money to her accomplice. After that she threw her cell phone on the nightstand. Renata tapped her fingers waiting for Danas' scream to be heard. She never saw Danas shouting.
"Did the drug work?" muttered Renata. She frowned because she felt very strange. It had been several minutes, but Danas still had no reaction.
Renata immediately went down to the ground floor. She saw the condition of the house which seemed quiet without any problems. She frowned. Then Renata stepped into Danas' room. She opened the door to her room. Danas turned to the doorway and frowned.
"Did you come to scare me again?" asked Danas with a flat face.
Renata looked at Danas who looked ordinary. She didn't even look the slightest bit pale. Even though Renata was sure she had clearly seen Danas taking it. Why isn't the reaction of the drug working yet?
"Are you okay?" Renata asked Danas.
Danas blinked her eyes in confusion. "Me? I-I'm okay. Are you worried about me?" Danas asked again. She didn't expect that Renata would ask about her condition.
Renata answered Danas nervously. She really wanted to ask about Danas' condition, but wanted an answer that was inversely proportional to the answer Danas was currently giving.
The woman coughed while rolling her eyes lazily. "Do I look really concerned about you?" snapped Renata. Then she immediately turned around and left Danas' room.
Renata was still wondering why Danas looked so ordinary. Did the medicine work so slowly?
Renata thought the miscarriage drug would react quickly. Renata bit her nails as she walked towards the kitchen. She saw Christina who was washing dishes and wiping some kitchen utensils.
Renata furrowed her brow. "What's causing the drink not to react yet?" she muttered.
Renata really wanted to ask Christina. Did the middle-aged woman put something in Danas' glass.
"Emm, Chris," Renata called out. She tried to act casual.
Renata leaned on the table and looked at Christina. "I heard from Danas that Christina's juice is really good. If I may know how Christina makes it."
Christina turned to her. The woman's forehead wrinkled.
"I mean, what does Christina add to the juice to make it taste good?" Renata said again with a crisp smile. She was still trying to figure out why the abortifacient didn't take effect quickly.
Christina tapped her finger on her chin. She glanced at the top left corner. "Ah, Saya only added some sugar and milk, there's no secret recipe. So what?" asked Christina.
Hearing that question, Renata shook her head. She shook her hand quickly. "Ah, that's okay. I'm going to make my own juices someday. That's why I need that secret recipe," replied Renata with a fake smile on her face.
Christina chuckled as she covered her mouth. "I'm so embarrassed, no really, ma'am. I don't have a secret recipe. I just add a little sugar and milk."
"No other additions?" Renata asked again.
Christina nodded her head. " Yeah," she replied. "Maybe add some water and ice cubes, and then nothing else."
Renata gave a small nod of her head. "Okay," she replied. Renata stopped prying information from Christina. She turned around and walked back to Danas' room. Checking once again whether the reaction of the medicine had worked.
Once again, Renata didn't find what she wanted. Danas was laughing out loud while playing with the cell phone in her hand. This made Renata growl in annoyance. She clenched both hands that hung at her sides. Her teeth gnashed in annoyance. Then Renata stomped her feet and turned towards her room.
Anger was gathering in her head. When she arrived in the room, Renata then shouted in annoyance. "Argh! Why didn't my plan work out!"
"I'm sure I saw Danas drink the juice to the end. But, why is that woman still laughing and not feeling any reaction?" she muttered.
She glanced down at her cell phone on the bed. "That person must have lied to me," Renata growled.
She immediately grabbed the cell phone lying on her bed. Renata called her messenger. She walked back and forth in the room.
When her call was answered, Renata then attacked the person on the other end with curses.
"Are you lying to me? What is this medicine you brought, why isn't it working?!" she fumed. She wouldn't let go of that person if it was her fault.
"I was right to buy the medicine. Did you mix the medicine properly into the food or drink?" the man asked back which only made Renata even more furious.
"Do you think I'm that stupid, huh?" Renata kept pacing back and forth while on the phone with that person. "I already put it in the drink like the instructions you gave. The dosage I gave was also appropriate and I even added more. You said it would work right away, but where's the proof? Danas could still laugh broadly. There's nothing strange about her pregnancy. Did you bring the right medicine for me?" Renata was still accusing that the person had brought the wrong medicine for her.
The reason was, this was very strange. The hard medicine didn't work at all even though Renata had given quite a dose to Danas's drink. The person on the other side again denied Renata's accusation. Renata still didn't believe it. Because she felt she had done the right thing.
"Have I been lying all this time? Besides, what's the point if I lied. There must be some mistake. Where did you put the medicine?" asked the person on the other side.
"I put it in avocado juice that had sugar and milk added to it. Does that make the medicine not work? It's impossible, isn't it?" replied Renata.
The person on the other end seemed to mumble. "I'll ask the pharmacist. To find out why that happened. You calm down, don't jump to conclusions accusing me like this. I won't lie to you. I swear," he said at the other end. Making Renata sigh and nod her face.
"I look forward to hearing from you soon."
She immediately turned off the cell phone connection. Renata shouted in annoyance again. "How can my plan fail," she hissed in annoyance.
Christina knew that Renata was watching her. She came out of Danas' room with an avocado glass. Christina deliberately didn't let the glass stay in Danas' room for too long. She just didn't want Renata to check the glass and find that it was different from before.
Christina immediately washed the glass and put it on the shelf. Not only that, Christina also cleaned up the kitchen. While she was engrossed in her work, Renata came in and asked some questions that Christina realized were meant to be asked. Christina answered them honestly. She didn't have any recipes except for sugar and milk.
Christina smiled slightly when she saw Renata's confused face. Christina had guessed that Renata must be confused because the abortifacient she had put in the fruit juice had not done anything for Danas. Renata left the kitchen. Christina resumed her work.
After cleaning the kitchen, Christina came out. She saw Renata stomping up the stairs. The woman seemed to have left Danas' room. Maybe Renata was going back to check if Danas was okay or if the reaction to the medicine she had given had appeared.
Christina also followed silently. Renata looked so angry that she slammed the door quite hard. Christina brought a broom for her alibi to eavesdrop in front of Renata's room.
The woman also indicated by slowly standing in front of Renata's room door.
Christina raised both corners of her lips when she heard Renata's tantrum at someone. The woman looked very emotional because her plan failed.
"You won't be able to carry out your evil intentions that easily, Mrs. Renata," Christina muttered as she straightened her body and hurriedly left the place before Renata realized her existence.
