Chapter 59: Chapter 59

After breakfast together, Melvin finally went straight to the office, leaving Danas and Aleta alone. The awkward breakfast ended with Aleta going back to her room while Danas tidied up the dining table.

As the sun was getting higher, Renata who didn't have time to join the breakfast finally woke up. She ate the food that was specially set aside for her. Renata yawned several times because of the drowsiness that had not disappeared, and her body felt stiff. It was only after she had breakfast that she fully recovered her consciousness.

Renata went to the living room. There, she saw Aleta watching TV with a bored expression. The old woman didn't seem to know what to do since she didn't have anything to do.

Renata, who happened to have nothing to do today, finally thought of a plan.

I think I can take Aunt Aleta for a walk today, Renata thought. In addition, she had also thought of ways to attract her boyfriend's parents to her side. Today was the day to execute one of her plans.

"Hello Auntie," Renata greeted Aleta. Renata then sat next to Aleta who was sitting on the sofa.

"You just woke up, didn't you?" asked Aleta. The old woman was just making small talk. However, Renata caught it differently.

"Yes," Renata replied briefly. She was afraid that she had made a bad impression on the woman she considered to be her future mother-in-law. "Oh, yes. By the way, Auntie is free today, isn't she?" the woman asked.

Aleta then let out a short sigh. "If you're busy, there's no way you're sitting here?" she replied, looking very disappointed with herself.

Renata then smiled. "Then let's go for a walk today, shall we?" she invited.

Aleta, who got the invitation, immediately turned her attention away from the TV, which was showing a rebroadcast of a show. Aleta then asked, "Where are you going?"

Renata pulled her lips up. A bright smile graced her face. "Yes, anywhere. We can also go shopping," she explained excitedly.

Aleta, who saw Renata's childlike demeanor, chuckled. The old woman felt a little amused by Renata's passionate attitude. There was a longing in her for Sarah to see a child her daughter's age.

After Aleta agreed to her invitation, Renata immediately went to get ready. Because she had not had time to take a shower earlier, she chose to take a shower first.

Renata tried to dress herself up in such a way. After taking a shower, the woman seemed to be picking out clothes in the closet to wear. Because she did not immediately find the clothes that she felt were suitable, Renata tried on one by one and left them scattered on the bed. The woman's room looked so set.

The long preparation was really time-consuming. Because, after choosing clothes, Renata also still had to apply makeup. Aleta, who was ready first, was waiting downstairs.

"Renata!" Aleta called to Renata who was still upstairs.

Renata, who heard that, polished her lips, then immediately took her handbag and went downstairs. "Yes, Auntie. Renata is ready, really," said the girl hurriedly going down the stairs.

The two finally departed. As the two women left, Danas, who happened to be downstairs, watched them leave. Danas may not have said it out loud. However, there was a bad feeling that arose in her when she saw Renata so close to Aleta. In fact, Aleta is her mother-in-law. In fact, it was Renata who had actually killed Sarah. The irony really touched Danas' heart.

On the way to the shopping center, Renata and Aleta are seen talking in the car. Renata asked a lot of questions about Aleta's experience abroad. Conversely, Aleta also asked about Renata's daily life so far.

They seemed to enjoy their time together. They joked around like children and parents. It was an ideal scene if people didn't know their respective backgrounds. The perpetrator of the murder and the parents of the victim. Ignorance is truly a scary thing.

Arriving at the shopping mall, the two women wandered around looking at the jewelry that seemed to sparkle from the outside. Before they entered the store, the lights reflected on the jewelry seemed to lure people in and force them to visit.

Jewelry that cost as much as Melvin was nothing to someone like Aleta. She bought a few that she thought would suit her and Renata.

Following the jewelry store, they went to a shoe store. A store that showcases tons of high heels that look so beautiful on a woman's smooth white feet. For some reason, when looking at items from branded stores, women can be impulsive enough to buy everything. Both of them ended up buying a lot of things that they didn't know when they would use.

"That's a lot, Auntie," Renata said smiling while frowning. She realized that they seemed to have gone overboard with their shopping.

"Yes, yes. I'm having fun because I haven't had fun like this in a long time," Aleta replied, laughing softly.

"Aren't you tired? If you want, we can take a break first," Renata suggested. She then pointed to one of the restaurants there. They could have lunch first before going to the beauty salon.

"Yes, okay. That's good," Aleta replied, accepting Renata's suggestion.

The two of them asked the waiter, who happened to be invited to carry their belongings, to put the groceries in the car. After that, Aleta and Renata entered a restaurant that looked quite crowded.

They sat at one of the tables not far from the entrance. The waitress approached them and took their order. The two of them waited while talking again.

"How is Auntie, are you happy?" Renata asked Aleta.

Aleta pulled the corners of her lips up, then showed a faint smile. "Yes, I'm very excited today. I appreciate you inviting me," she replied.

Renata who heard that smiled with satisfaction. She felt she had won Aleta's heart. If she was able to make Aleta happy, she could have granted her wish to urge Melvin to divorce Danas.

"Auntie, Renata actually has something to tell me," Renata said, opening a new conversation after finishing discussing the beautiful accessories they bought.

"Oh, yeah? What?"

"It's about Melvin," Renata said. She then tried to build up the atmosphere to make it feel more serious. Renata also put on a slightly gloomy face, as if she was sad.

Aleta, meanwhile, frowned. "What's wrong with Melvin?"

"Renata is confused, why did she have to choose Danas as her wife? Then, she said she hates Danas, but why does he pay attention to her all the time?"

Aleta listened to Renata's complaints to herself. Aleta could catch Renata's jealousy from the way the girl told her story. Aleta, who knew her son's relationship with the girl in front of her, could understand. The reason is, not only was she left behind in marriage, but now Renata's position is actually like Melvin's mistress. Aleta finally listened to Renata's complaints patiently.

" Recently, Melvin has also rarely paid attention to Renata. Renata was forced to think, maybe Melvin had indeed fallen into that evil woman's trap. Is Auntie's son going to leave Renata?"

While explaining that, Renata insisted on showing a hurt expression. She even deliberately shed tears to make Aleta feel sorry for her story.

Aleta finally touched Renata's hand that was placed on the table, then grasped it. "You are patient, yes. Auntie really supports your relationship with Melvin. Auntie also believes that Melvin loves you. If he didn't, he wouldn't have let you be by his side."

Renata was really happy when she heard Aleta say that. Because, it sounded like she had managed to pull Aleta over to her side. However, when she heard Aleta's next words, Renata's face changed.

"Melvin's attention is not because he likes Danas. It's all because she's pregnant with his child. Auntie understands that you don't like Melvin like that, but you have to be patient, at least until Melvin's child is born," Aleta explained, making Renata try to understand.

On the other hand, the fake tears that had fallen on Renata's cheeks had started to dry up. Even though she was sure that Aleta would support her, but it turned out that in the end the woman had no intention of doing anything at all. In fact, Aleta understood the attention Melvin paid to Danas.

Renata was really disappointed to hear that explanation. Her face, which had looked sad earlier, changed instantly. She tried hard to hide her feelings by showing a flat face, but right now, anger was raging inside her.

Danas' name had really sounded like a thorn in Renata's ears. Every time she discussed that woman, her hatred grew stronger and stronger. Moreover, the people around Danas had changed their attitude because of her pregnancy. Increasingly, Renata felt more and more threatened.
