Chapter 56: Chapter 56
For who knows how many times, Renata was currently pacing back and forth with an uneasy feeling. She was biting her thumbnail unconsciously. Restlessly waiting for Melvin's return who picked up Danas.
At first she thought that Melvin taking her home first was a sign that the man was more concerned with her. In fact, Renata now feels the opposite, precisely because Danas was picked up later, so now they have the opportunity to spend a lot of time together. Unlike her earlier, Melvin very clearly looked in a hurry to go back to pick up Danas.
"Arrgghhh fuck!" roared Renata, further poisoning her heart and mind with anger.
Her eyes that had been looking straight at the window all this time now seemed to widen when she saw Melvin's car just crossing the gate and entering the mansion grounds.
Renata almost immediately rushed out of the room and approached Danas to teach him a lesson. However, she didn't want to do that in front of Melvin. Melvin must not see her being cruel to Danas who is pregnant with her future child. As a result, Renata waited until Danas was alone.
After making sure Danas had now entered her room, Renata darted quickly to Danas' room.
Danas was surprised when her bedroom door opened with a loud bang. He then got up from his seat on the edge of the bed.
"What do you want?" asked Danas, not liking Renata's insolent attitude without permission to enter his room.
"Stop looking for Melvin's attention!" said Renata rudely.
Danas raised one eyebrow. His brow furrowed in confusion at Renata's words.
"I'm not looking for Melvin's attention," Danas replied calmly.
Renata stared at Danas' stomach. Danas, who followed the direction of Renata's gaze, spontaneously twisted her body, as if to keep her stomach away from the snake woman.
"Hah, because of that baby!"
Renata roared in frustration. She ruffled her hair in annoyance. She wanted to push Danas or punch her in the stomach. Anything, as long as the baby was dead and gone! However, she couldn't do it, not when she could become a suspect and make Melvin angry at her.
"Hey, Danas...Is that really Melvin's baby? It could be another guy's baby, right?" said Renata carelessly. She blurted out whatever words were now coming to her mind.
"Watch your talk, Renata! Do you think I'm like you? I only have one husband, so it's obvious who the father of my future baby is!" snapped Danas angrily. She couldn't take any more of Renata's insults.
Renata was getting angry. She didn't like hearing Danas mention Melvin as her husband.
Renata raised her hands in the air. She almost pounced on Danas, but she managed to control herself. Danas, who expected to be attacked, spontaneously closed his eyes. However, after a moment of nothing happening, he had the courage to open his eyes again.
"I'm warning you. Don't ever take Melvin's attention away from me by taking advantage of your pregnancy. And remember... he cares because you're only carrying his future child. Without that baby, you're nothing to Melvin!"
After saying that, Renata was just about to leave Danas' room. However, Danas' voice and the sentence the woman said made Renata stop her steps and look back.
"You hit the wrong target by warning me, Renata. Melvin paying attention to me or paying attention to this baby is Melvin's own choice. So, if you don't want Melvin to pay attention to me and my baby, it should be Melvin you're banning, not me!"
Yes, that's right. Renata knew that too well. She could tell that it wasn't Danas who was deliberately looking for ways to be noticed, but Melvin who suddenly turned his attention to Danas because she was pregnant with his child.
"One more thing... I'm Melvin's legal wife. It's only natural that he would pay attention to me and my baby. Just remember your position as the mistress here."
"Insolent!"
Renata was about to slap Danas on the cheek. Just then, the door to Danas' room opened and Christina appeared with a surprised face.
This interrupted Renata who was about to slap Danas. Her hand was lowered again. Her face showed an extinguished blush.
Renata, who felt dead, did not know what else to say and what else to do to reply to Danas' words. She almost lost control if she didn't remember that this was Melvin's mansion. If they were somewhere else, she could have directly harmed Danas.
She only hurriedly left the room and now stepped towards Melvin's room.
"Madam is alright?" Christina rushed in and asked how Danas was.
"It's okay, Chris. I'm okay," Danas replied not wanting to make the middle-aged woman worry about her.
"Thank God." Christina felt relieved after confirming that Danas was indeed fine.
"Thank you, yes, Chris." Danas smiled. Holding both of Christina's hands tightly.
"Ah, I didn't do anything, really, ma'am."
Christina felt embarrassed that she just happened to pass by and heard the commotion from Danas' room. Without realizing it, she immediately opened the door to the room without any intention. However, apparently that action stopped Renata from doing evil.
Renata cursed in her heart all the way. She thought that warning Danas and venting her frustration to the woman would channel her anger. However, instead of being satisfied, she burned even more with anger. Now her frustration had doubled compared to before.
Without knocking first, Renata immediately opened the door to Melvin's room. He wasn't there. She checked the room and found the sound of running water from the bathroom.
Renata decided to wait for Melvin to finish his business in the bathroom. She sat on the bed with her arms folded in front of her chest.
Inside the bathroom, Melvin cleaned his body. Ten minutes later, he was done. A wide towel was wrapped around his lower body. Water dripped from the ends of his wet hair.
When he opened the bathroom door and got out of there, he found Renata's figure looking at him straight on with her face bent in folds.
Melvin was tired, and he didn't want any more commotion actually. However, the love he had for her overcame his tiredness.
"Hey, baby. Why is your face like that?" asked Melvin walking to the front of the closet, picking up clothes to put on.
Renata flinched, not immediately answering Melvin's question. Through the reflection of the mirror, Melvin could see the look on Renata's face was very indicative of her current mood.
Melvin could guess that Renata's problem this time was still about her resentment towards Danas. Meanwhile, Renata only observed the man getting dressed in silence. After getting dressed, Melvin approached the upset woman.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Melvin again, pretending to be insensitive, even though he knew very well what was in her heart at the moment.
"You've changed," said Renata finally speaking up.
"Changed?" Melvin was surprised at the accusation. The reason was, he felt that he had not changed his treatment of his lover.
"Yes, you changed. Ever since you found out Danas was pregnant, you've been paying more attention to her than me!" Renata began to sulk. The ends of her lips pursed, the wrinkles on her forehead deepened.
"I'm not paying attention to Danas, I'm only paying attention to my future baby." Melvin reasoned.
"That's the same thing! How can you care about an unborn baby? That's just your excuse to care about Danas!"
Melvin was a bit devastated to hear that sentence. Yeah, not wrong either. Technically it was like that. However, deep down inside Melvin's heart, he was truly happy that he was going to have a child, and that child was all he cared about. His affection for that child was already growing, even before he was born into the world.
"I still can't accept, why did you touch that woman and get her pregnant! Do I have to get pregnant too to make you pay more attention to me?"
Renata began to ramble on and on. The woman let out whatever words came to her mind.
"Oh, so you wanna get pregnant too? Shall we make it now?" Melvin said suddenly.
Melvin's words just now were like water that suddenly put out the embers in Renata's heart. Although her resentment was still there, it was slowly replaced by joy.
"Let's be honest. I don't wanna get pregnant now. Not when I haven't graduated from college yet."
Renata pretended to refuse, even though in her heart of course she wanted it. For her, it didn't matter if she had to carry Melvin's child now, as long as it could get rid of Danas' position.
"Come on ...." Melvin persuaded. The man began to touch Renata, trying to get her to submit.
Renata secretly smiled. Inwardly she was cheering for her current victory. For her, this time Melvin really showed that no matter what happened, the man would still choose her, not Danas.
