Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Jagad sat in the living room after returning home from the hospital. He still hadn't gotten over the thought of what he had just found out. Who wouldn't be shocked to learn a big secret? Especially when it involves people's lives.

"Oh my God, what should I do? I can't just stay silent," Jagad muttered. He was very nervous. Revealing the truth is sometimes as difficult as covering up a lie.

Jagad thought back to Danas. A woman like her had to experience bitter events and endure a punishment that was not her fault. Jagad questioned the fate that he felt was unfair.

"No. I can't just stay silent like this. I have to do something to help her," Jagad said as he reached for his cell phone again. He looked at his phone screen several times, and even typed a message to Melvin but deleted it again.

"I've got to tell Melvin. It's stupid of him not to know what's really going on. What a sin if I can't defend Danas," Jagad thought. He wanted to tell Melvin.

However, every time Jagad wrote a message to Melvin, he deleted the message again. He remembered what Danas had said. That woman didn't want the matter to be opened now. She also said that Melvin wouldn't believe her since Renata was currently his girlfriend.

"Damn. Why is it so complicated?" Jagad was annoyed as he put down his cell phone again. The man continued to look for ways to reveal the facts. He weighed and thought about many things until he looked like a nervous person. Repeatedly, Jagad sighed heavily and was lost in his reverie.

Davina, who saw that her brother had just returned, went over and asked him what made him look like that. Of course, she wondered, because Jagad didn't usually behave so strangely.

"Jagad, what's wrong?"

"Hmm?" Jagad, who was engrossed in his reverie, couldn't answer. He only replied casually. That made Davina even more curious. Her eyebrows rose and were ready to fire Jagad with questions that he had to answer.

Davina sat on the chair across from Jagad. She observed her brother who was still as confused as he was tense. Davina even leaned forward to get closer to Jagad and started intimidating him.

"Tell me. What's wrong? Jagad can't be acting this strange, there must be a big problem."

Jagad glanced at Davina briefly but then he averted his eyes again. He didn't want to make eye contact with his sister. He knew Davina would keep asking him questions until she got the answers she wanted. At first Jagad didn't want to tell Davina but there were no secrets between them. The two siblings were very close. They used to tell each other about everything. They trusted each other.

"I'll tell you, but I ask one thing, you must be able to keep your mouth shut," Jagad said to Davina.

Jagad's request made Davina's forehead wrinkle. How important was it that her brother asked her to keep it tight? What secret?

Davina looks still silent and can't answer. Jagad took a breath and waited for her reaction. If Davina couldn't fulfill his request to promise, he still tried to keep the secret himself.

"What's the secret? It's really important?" Davina asked, breaking the ice between them. She certainly didn't want to make any promises if she didn't know the situation.

"Just promise me first, this is a very important thing because it involves someone's life and life," Jagad replied no less seriously. He looked deeply into his sister's eyes.

"Okay, I promise I'll keep my mouth shut. Just tell me, I won't tell anyone," Davina said in the end. She couldn't bear to see her sister's enigmatic attitude plus her curiosity that was only getting bigger.

Jagad then signaled Davina to sit closer. He wanted to say it in a whisper, not wanting to be heard by others. Davina moved her chair forward and now her ears were ready to listen to Jagad's whisper.

"You know that woman I helped? I've got a big secret about her!" Jagad said.

Davina frowned. "Yes, why?"

"She's married," said Jagad in a slightly disappointed tone.

Hearing that, his sister made an incredulous face. "Are you saying that you like someone's wife?" Davina asked for reassurance.

Jagad nodded his head slightly. "It seems so, but I'm not sure."

"Are you crazy, liking someone's wife?"

"If you know she's someone's wife, I-" Jagad's words stopped.

"Wow, brother. You're very good," Davini praised a little mockingly. It would be very bad if her brother really liked someone's wife. Destroying someone else's marriage was never justified.

Davina turned her face the other way and snorted in annoyance. "Stay away from her, don't have any more contact with that woman," Davina said curtly. She really didn't want her brother to be in a relationship with someone's wife.

But Jagad's answer disappointed Davina. Her eyes glared at her brother when Jagad shook his

head vigorously.

"I can't, Davina. I can't just leave her," he said.

"Jagad, are you out of your mind? She already has a husband, why would you go near her?" Davina half shouted when Jagad said that the woman already had a husband, clearly Davina challenged her brother.

"It's not like that, there are very important things I have to do for her," Jagad said trying to defend himself. He was sure that what he was doing was right.

But Davina didn't want to understand. She turned her body around and now turned her back to Jagad. She was so upset that she didn't want to see her brother.

"Never mind, it's better for Jagad to never meet her again, it's better. Forget him!" Davina suggested Jagad stay away.

"Davina, I'm not done talking yet. This problem is not just about her but there are other things that are more important." Jagad still insisted on his own opinion. The same goes for Davina. She who was already carried away by emotions did not want to listen to Jagad's explanation any longer.

"Jagad knows, right? What are the consequences if a man approaches a married woman? He'll be labeled as a wife snatcher!" Davina didn't want her brother to be labeled as a wife snatcher.

"Watch what you say, Davina. I'm not like that!" Jagad was of course angry to be called that by his own sister. He had a relationship with Danas not because he wanted to snatch the woman from her husband but only to help her.

But Davina was already angry and fist-pumping. Before Jagad had finished explaining, she had returned to the room. "Anyway, I don't wanna know. Stay away from that woman, no matter what!"
