Chapter 15: Chapter 15
"Come to my office!"
The message that just came in, made Danas' hands tremble especially when a car stopped right in front of her. A black Toyota Corolla Altis stopped right in front of her. Someone got out of the car and opened the car door for her.
The man who opened the door bowed slightly to greet her.
"Madam, I was asked to take you."
Danas had a surprised look on her face, how could she not have been picked up by a driver after her family went bankrupt?
She glanced around for a moment, some people were looking at her with unhappy looks. Ever since her parents, declared bankruptcy, and her company was taken over by Neha'v Group, she had been bullied.
People looked down on her, the one who survived and was still friendly with her was Davina.
Danas could only sigh as she got into the car.
“Tomorrow. Don't pick me up at the university gate. I don't want them to see me like that again."
"I apologize, ma'am, I won't pick you up again in a crowded place."
" Thanks," Danas said as she opened a sketchbook of hers. "Why did he ask me to come to his office?"
"I didn't dare to ask the master, ma'am."
Danas just nodded slowly. After the car that picked Danas up left, some people made a group and gossiped there.
"It can't be her, right, who Mr. Melvin married? Their business went bust and was taken over by the Neha'v Group, Mr. Melvin couldn't have married a woman like Danas." Someone was mocking.
" That's right, at most she is the mistress of an om-om, a fat man, and a bald head." Suddenly, several people in the crowd laughed at the girl's remark.
" Are you better than her?" asked someone who was standing leaning his shoulder against a tree, arms folded, staring intently at those who had been gossiping about Danas.
A few people were mesmerized by the man, while the gossiping girl was instantly slapped with the question asked by the man. Only a smile was being carved by the man, looking at several women.
"Who are you? I just saw you here."
"Me? You talking to me?" he asked. "Why should I tell you who I am?"
The answer the man gave her annoyed her and she left.
"Why are you here?" asked Davina with a look of dislike when she saw the man who was leaning his shoulders against the tree, while the man when he saw Davina immediately smiled.
"Hello, dear," he waved his hand, making the woman in front of him feel annoyed.
"He's Davina's boyfriend?" asked someone while whispering.
Not only did one person comment on the man who called Davina darling, but there were other whispers, making the girl uncomfortable.
"Don't call me that, Jagad."
Jagad-the man who was flirting with Davina. "I'll keep calling you like that before you-"
"Let's find a good place to talk." Davina immediately pulled Jagad away from there.
On the other side.
Danas was sketching an outfit in her notebook.
"Would Madame like to stop for lunch first?" asked the man who had been driving.
"No, I'm not hungry."
"Would you like me to play a song?"
"Hhhm. That's fine."
Hearing the song being played, Danas chose to open the car window, looking at the vehicles passing by on the road.
"If there's anything Madam wants, just say I'll go buy it."
Danas just smiled, since the day her family went bankrupt she had to live independently, when she regained the treatment she had lost, it was like she couldn't accept everything she was feeling again, even though everything that was happening was just because her husband didn't want people to know about her identity married to Melvin.
There wasn't any sketch, just lines.
"He's probably up to something, maybe he wants to embarrass me," she thought to herself.
"Ma'am, here we're."
Danas looked up, the building where she first saw Melvin Mahameru, the building that made her fall in love with that man, when remembering it made her heart ache, until she squeezed her left breast because of the pain there.
"Are you okay, ma'am?" asked the middle-aged old man who was her personal driver.
"I'm okay, Mr. Rajo."
Rangga, who was waiting for Danas in the company lobby, came out and greeted her.
No one knew that she was the wife of the owner of the company, except Melvin and her personal driver.
"Why did she call me to the office?" Danas asked while looking at Rangga.
The man just shook his head.
"You don't even know."
Her footsteps hesitated as she knocked on Melvin's door.
"Come in."
Hearing the man's voice alone made her body tense up as if the man's treatment had been recorded in her brain making her terrified. Her hand was hesitant to grasp the doorknob of the room.
"Do you want to keep me waiting?" asked Melvin sternly from inside the room, his voice slightly raised.
Check!
Danas immediately stepped closer, the man he was about to meet had turned his back.
It was now just the two of them in the room.
"'Y-you called me?" asked Danas stammeringly.
The guy she was questioning turned the chair around, and stared coldly at the girl in front of him as usual, leaving Danas to lower her face, her body tense with fear. She knew that the man in front of her could pounce on her at any time.
"You must know about the articles that spread."
Melvin only nodded his head. The man tapped on his desk, while looking at Danas who didn't dare to look at him.
"Do you realize why I called you here?"
Danas just shook his head.
"Do you remember what day it is?" asked Melvin as he got up from his seat.
Hearing the sound of Melvin's footsteps approaching her made her body stiffen instantly. The man sat on his desk while looking at Danas.
"You don't remember? While you made a mistake right on this date?"
Danas looked at Melvin, then lowered his gaze again.
"I don't remember, I made a mistake."
The man was so agile when he heard what Danas said to him, now his hand was gripping Danas' jaw making the girl grimace in pain.
"Remember well, what you did three years ago."
"T-three years ago?" Danas tried to remember what happened three years ago, but she couldn't remember at all.
"Yes."
"I-I don't remember, I didn't do anything."
Melvin tightened his grip on her hand, making the girl make little sounds due to the pain she felt. She had spoken the truth, but unfortunately, the man in front of her didn't believe what she said, as if it was useless for her to answer his questions.
" You're a lying bitch."
"I-I'm not lying, Melvin."
"Why are you still pretending not to remember everything you've done? You make me sick, putting on a face like that, after what you've done."
"I did nothing wrong, I'm not a murderer!"
"You still pretend not to remember what you did to my sister? You killed her. You killed my sister!"
"I-I didn't kill your sister!"
