Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Danas' eyes rounded, when there was a gentle touch on his neck. The man who was holding her tightened his embrace, making her unable to move.

Just for a moment, it happened then Melvin tried to distance himself from the girl by pushing Danas' body, then pulled her back into his arms.

"Are you flirting with me?" asked Melvin.

"N-no, I wasn't flirting with you."

"But you're-"

Seeing Danas who was downcast with fear, made Melvin snort softly. There was an ego that made him not accept that he was the one who was tempted but again he didn't want to admit it.

There was an addiction that was burning at the bottom of his heart, the scent of Danas' body seemed to be luring him to taste this body.

"Shit, why is she flirting with me. Her body scent is so comforting to me," he swore.

It was still dark in the room with the piano still playing, and the dance was still not over. A few people had joined the dance floor, while Danas could only let her body move according to Melvin's wishes.

Her joints started to ache because every time Melvin pulled her, it felt like he was upset and angry, so she pulled him forcefully.

Danas' face, which was trying to cover up the pain that was starting to hurt, could only be held back by her, she couldn't possibly reprimand the man she was currently with, or else he would make it worse than what was currently happening.

Each time that girl came back into her arms, there was a feeling that held him back from holding Danas' small body for too long, but every time that happened, Melvin always pushed and made a rotary motion, he didn't want her to feel herself hypnotized by the citrus scent that evaporated from the pores of Danas' skin.

The scent of citrus, mixed with the scent of vanilla that made Melvin curious brought a heartbeat that could not be controlled by the owner, many times he refused to admit that at this time part of him wanted the girl in front of him.

Danas' body, made him calm, that's what made him want the girl in front of him.

The pianist's finger began to slowly press the keys until it ended with his finger pressing a key making a long note that made the dancers stop, and ended with applause.

Danas smiled as the lights came back on but not at Melvin who was staring at him with emotion. She knew he was angry with her, but she didn't know why he was always angry with her.

"Mr. and Mrs. Melvin, you performed perfectly."

The sound of clapping hands was heard by a man who was approaching them, the man was commenting on the dance performed by the couple, who hypnotized some of the people in the room with their charm.

Danas who had amber eyes that were golden yellow was able to hypnotize those who were there, for the indigenous people, it was very rare to find someone with amber eyes like her. Danas' beautiful face did not fail to hypnotize them.

Melvin's athletic body wrapped in a suit, the American-Indo face made the man so perfect combined with Danas' beautiful face.

No wonder, many pairs of female eyes disliked Danas who had been with that man.

"Sure, thanks," Melvin responded simply.

The girl beside her could only smile forcibly, only she knew that the dance she did with her husband was far from perfect.

"If you don't mind, I would like to invite Mr. and Mrs. Melvin to join us for dinner."

Melvin glanced at Danas, putting his arm around his wife's shoulders, making Danas endure the pain while smiling.

People saw her as so happy, but she wasn't.

"I can't refuse if my wife wants to leave," Melvin said with a smile. " Would you like to accept the offer of having dinner with them?" asked Melvin, while slightly gripping Danas' shoulder bringing out the pain there.

"I can't leave," Danas replied stammeringly.

Melvin's hands were now moving, wrapping around Danas' waist, pulling the girl into his arms.

"So, my wife is currently sick but she still insisted on coming because I don't want to go to this party because of her."

Danas' heart twitched at the bottom, her husband was using her as a shield, and her hand was squeezing her dress, making a tangle there.

The smile, and the image that the man was building hurt her so much, she wanted to look fine, but her heart ached with Melvin's treatment of her. To her, in front of many people, she was very lucky, but there would be fear when it was just her and Melvin.

She loses herself.

Her hands were supporting her chin, closing her eyes, until a pat on her shoulder.

"Drink?"

Two glasses of vodka were in a woman's hand as she handed the drinks to Danas.

Her hair down, a red mini dress, and blood-red lipstick on her lips, she was smiling at Danas.

"No, I dont drink alcohol," Danas refused.

"Alcohol is good when it's cold like this," the woman said, pulling back what she had given Danas, calling for a waiter, and placing a glass on the tray. "Alexa Amareta," the woman said again as she extended her hand to introduce herself to Danas.

"Danas Cakrawala."

"A good name for you."

Danas only smiled.

"You really make everyone's focus choose you, your dress, your face, and of course, you are the wife of a man who is famous in this country in Economics-Raka Melvin Mahameru."

"Is that something to be proud of? For me it's like a new problem."

The woman in front of her only frowned, at first glance Alexa thought that Danas was not grateful for what the girl had at the moment, but she also saw another side of Danas.

Some women would say that having Melvin as an Economics master was the proudest thing, but Alexa could clearly see that there was no pride at all on the other woman's face.

"Em, I have something to tell you," Alexa said as she moved closer to Danas. She put her face close to Danas' ear. "You know, your husband doesn't look like an Indo, his name is Raka Melvin Mahameru, but his face is not."

Instantly Danas held back her laughter, for her it was very funny.

"I was thinking, why did your in-laws give him a name like that? I think it suits him, if I may suggest maybe his name should be changed to Ace Niccollas maybe."

Danas stifled his laughter again.

"I was saying seriously," Alexa said again making Danas' laughter break out.

Melvin, who had been watching Danas from a distance, only raised his eyebrows, perhaps the man was thinking about what made his girl laugh out loud, while in front of him was so scared.

"So, tell me, how did you guys meet and fall in love?" Alexa asked probingly.
