Chapter 220: Chapter 220
While the rest of the world was in tumult, the men on the Michaelsons' private army along with Brianna’s team subdued the whole barracks and gather every useful piece of evidence to solidify the cases against Terrence Clayton. The Michaelsons team found out there were more grave reasons why the ex-Vice President wanted the whole place burned down.
“Sir, there seemed to be a lot of hidden bundles of money on one of the installed container vaults covered in military cloth to make it appear and look like it was only one of the stocks containers,” Captain Lexus Bordeaux reported when they started to search the whole property for anything they could find useful.
“There is no way one can create a legal document to explain such a large sum of money, so Clayton must have kept them there,” Andy scoffed.
“And there wouldn’t have been any way his under-the-table deals would pay him other than by cash,” Leandro also scorned. “Do not touch anything, just take photos and secure the surroundings for any intruders who might want to take them away. We have to let the people know and see the proof of his dirty money,” the Old Michaelson added.
Andy also ordered everyone in the field to have the captives carefully bound and kept in the property, so that when the authorities come to investigate the place and everything that happened there, Clayton’s men will also be there to be brought to justice.
“How about Charles Anderson? What do we do with him?” Asked Blake, but because he did not know whom to address his queries, Blake did not say any name. He was only hoping his superiors will arrive with the same thoughts. If only it was for Blake to decide, not knowing Jack Foster and Charles Anderson are blood-related, he would shoot that old fox in between its eyes the moment he gets a sight of him. But he was not going to act on his own about things that his Boss B might have other plans in mind.
And they haven’t found Charles Anderson yet. The soldiers had checked every corner of the building where they all thought he was in, but they did not see even Charles Anderson’s shadow. Some of them tried to trace every possible path and route that Charles might have taken to exit the area, but they failed to find him.
Unknown to the soldiers and everyone else, including men from the IT team, Charles Anderson died along with the IT team leader when the power supply structure exploded. Anderson asked the team leader to take him to the Armory hoping there would be any getaway vehicle he could use to leave the place. Charles was thinking about escaping from this chaos to live another day and collect from his enemies later. The IT guy did not know where the armory was so he just led the man in command to every structure and the first place they arrived to check was the power supply and web server building. And they both were blown into pieces with no traceable proof or doubts that they died in the blast.
But knowing Charles Anderson, even Jack Foster did not doubt the possibility that this wicked man would still be alive. Everyone in Brianna’s team who had known Charles Anderson well just thought that man found his way to get away alive from this place before they got to subdue it and everyone in the area.
“Jack, when you’re ready, expose the barracks in the forest to the media and authorities as well, just like the rest of the proofs we found to nail that bastard Clayton,” Leandro gently stated from his seat as if he was speaking to someone right next to him.
“Understood, Don Leon,” Jack replied right away.
“Anna, Luci,” Leandro called the youngsters.
“Yes, grandpa?” Lucien answered.
“I would like to have a nice dinner with all of my family. And I mean to say, that includes you, Anna,” Leandro spoke with a hint of joy and pain in his heart.
“We will pick up Luci’s mom and dad on our way to your place…” Brianna answered with her words left somehow hanging. Brianna was not sure what to call the elderly. It made her words sound unfinished.
“No, our men guarding them in your villa will bring them both home, so you guys head straight to my place as well, Andy and I will be there in ten minutes or so,” Leandro insisted. “I want to see you all, as soon as possible. I feel so tired, a good warm meal I get to share with the people I treasure so much would be so amazingly great.”
“Okay, see you soonest!” Lucien said with his eyes smiling as he gazed at a nodding Brianna next to him.
But before everyone else arrived at Leandro’s mansion, he received a call saying someone was by the gate begging to see and speak to him. Leandro received the call as he and Andy were heading out of the building towards the helicopter waiting for them to send the two older men to the Michaelsons’ mansions.
“Identify him and let me know so I can decide if he gets to see me today or ask him to return another day. I want to spend time with my family today, so as much as I can avoid it, I don’t want to take any visitors,” Leandro declared.
“He said he has made direct calls to you once before and also today,” the guard on Leandro’s gate answered as if he already asked about the identity of the guest wanting to see the Master of the house. Leandro was not surprised to hear the guard answer as soon as Leandro stated his demand, it was a protocol in his security team and guards to know anyone of their incoming guests and callers.
But the contents of the guard’s words surprised Leandro.
“My unknown caller today?” Leandro murmured, but as the guard on the other line heard his Master’s words, he confirmed the answer to the question as if it was being directly asked of him.
“Yes, sir.”
Leandro could never forget that he had an unknown caller who warned him to call his men out of the establishment in the forest before the deafening sound of a building blown away was heard.
“Let him in, offer him coffee and make him feel comfortable, but do not leave your eyes off him,” Leandro said with his steps getting abrupt. Andy kept up thinking something was going on but he did not bother Leandro with any questions. Andy was confident that if he was allowed to know whatever was in his old friend’s mind, he needn’t have to ask, because Leon would tell him everything about it whenever Leon is ready.
Andy assisted Leandro to get into the bladed aircraft and they both get seated without a word.
“Can you make a wild guess of who would have tipped us to save our men from actual death in the field today?” Leandro asked Andy casually.
“I can tell it was someone with direct connections to the very person who gave that specific order, but who would be so bold to defy such a tyrant man that Terrence Clayton obviously is?” Andy replied.
“Could it be someone who felt brave enough since the man is already behind bars?” Leandro raised his eyebrows as if taking his thoughts wild but still possible.
“Could the person who sent those documents and the caller be one and the same?” Andy also frowned. “I have a feeling I am right, but I can’t really be sure, you know?”
“Let’s find out. The unknown caller I had that tip about calling our men to pull out from the target area today is waiting for us at the mansion as we speak,” Leandro stated with squinted eyes looking sideways at his good friend Andy.
“That is quite too fast. He must need the help he mentioned to you during your conversation earlier,” Andy chuckled.
While Andy and Leandro were wondering who could be waiting for them at Leandro’s mansion, Brianna and Lucien drove their way to the place they were supposed to have a family dinner but not before Brianna meet his immediate men, Andrew Hoggins, Max Beckett, Ramil Fin, Jules Lopez, Chad Yates, Will Garrett, and Blake Gordon. Jack join them virtually while Brianna personally expressed her gratitude and welcomed them home with gladness that no one was harmed or injured.
“I know you are all anxious not finding Charles Anderson in the location, but if he is still alive, we will get to see him again one day. You all did an awesome job out there. I will attend a dinner with the Michaelsons tonight, but I will make sure to take you to wherever you wanna have a meal tomorrow. For now, you guys rest, and please get showered!” Brianna stated as casually as she would usually speak to her men.
