Chapter 219: Chapter 219
Blake assigned Finn and Hoggins to cover him by looking at their surroundings as his watchmen while he focused his attention on the target he was after according to the order given for him to execute. Blake had to look up most of the time to locate the shooter so he was relieved two of his comrades who already knew the drills and what they were supposed to do in this situation were with him to rely on.
“Boss, these men are wearing a different uniform from ours. I believe they are not on the same side with us. What do I do?” Blake reported in a whispering tone as soon as he got the assurance that his information was accurate.
“Take them down. Alive if possible, injured or not. But don’t hesitate to shoot if they try to resist and fight back!” Brianna answered.
“Yes, Boss!” Blake answered. He gave Ramil Finn and Andrew Hoggins a signal on what to do and they acted accordingly.
Hoggins took the east and south directions to secure. Finn took the other two directions while Blake Gordon finds for a perfect spot he could take his shots at the three shooters on the tree. Blake had to make sure of his every move so he had to climb on the tree behind the one the enemies were positioned then fired his gun with tranquilizer bullets and a sound suppressor to avoid alarming the enemies on target. But as soon as the first target fell off the tree and made a loud thud reaching the ground, the two other snipers became alert. One fought back while the other continued to aim at his next spot to be blown off.
The armory!
The place where the weapons were kept was intentionally located in the opposite direction from the power supply to avoid accidental explosions of any kind. But as Terrence Clayton has ordered, they needed to cut the power supply as soon as they get the chance to get close to avoid anyone getting into the system and hacking into the confidential files there were in the structure. But the next thing to shoot was the armory. It contained different weapons and explosives which would have been enough to burn the whole property down to ashes.
But when Finn and Hoggins cleared the area, they helped Blake take the snipers down by using regular guns and bullets, so the two snipers fell dead on the ground before the shot to blow the armory was fired.
“Boss, snipers are taken down,” Blake reported.
“Already? How many were they?” Asked Lucien with uncertainty.
“There were only three snipers on position, but they had around ten men guarding their position below the snipers’ posts,” Blake answered as he looked around from his position on the tree and saw the dead bodies on the ground including those that Hoggins and Finn had taken down.
“That’s too few for Clayton’s men to be considered,” Lucien frowned. “Could it be because most of his army was captured in that jailbreak attempt?”
“Search the perimeter for more of Clayton’s men. We do not have a known count of them, so do not enter the premises until you made sure there is no other sniper in the whole area,” Brianna agreed with Lucien’s thoughts.
“Blake, there is a group of armed men heading in your direction from behind you. I tried to zoom in, but their uniform does not look any different from our view. However, we do not have men sent after you. The possibility of this group coming from the opponent is highly agreeable. Be on guard,” Enzo clearly stated.
Since Tatum’s team and Blake’s are almost together now, after that blast, Enzo was guiding both teams, and because Tatum was injured and still unconscious, Blake was the next person Enzo had to inform on the field.
Jack heard Enzo’s words so, he paused from his task and checked the location Enzo had mentioned.
“We can check their network if it belongs to us, we will know they are from our side, if it turns out to be different, it would be a clear sign they aren’t our men. Wait. Just give me a sec,” Jack said as he checked things on his computer. “They’re not from our network. Blake, I repeat, they are not from our side!”
“Copy that!” Blake affirmed. “Where are they now, Enzo?” Blake asked.
“They are about five hundred meters nearing your position.”
“Do we have a number?” Finn asked.
“More or less a dozen,” Enzo answered.
“Are they sending men in small troops? I don’t get it?” Lucien murmured. He was just listening to the conversation while his eyes were focused on watching the locations Brianna had assigned him to handle.
“It’s either there are only a few of his loyal men left or they are into a strategy to send their men wisely,” Brianna also made her thoughts known to Lucien. “The latter thought is viable for those who were only working for Terrence Clayton out of fear and held by the neck. And now that the tyrant Clayton is already behind bars, they could have found the confidence and chance to slip off the old fox’s paws and run away instead of joining the remaining army.”
Blake signaled Finn and Hoggins to take posts in different positions.
Brianna also gave orders to the other company leaders to cover the area surrounding the barracks but not move forward to it. The place might blow at any moment, so they have to be at a safe distance. And the rest of the soldiers should spread around the area to secure the building from Terrence Clayton’s plan.
“Let us also keep an eye on every exit of the whole place, IT team, Charles Anderson may have no way to escape other than where we could see him,” Brianna said while keenly watching every monitor screen.
Since the power supply was destroyed in the barracks, Terrence Clayton could no longer connect to the control room on Charles’ side. He depended on his son’s reports, but Roger Clayton also had no vision of the current events occurring in the campsite in the forest area. Roger has a direct line connected to the deployed troops and whatever they report to Roger, he would report to his father.
There were only a hundred and a few more soldiers left on Terrence Clayton’s troops. The rest of them were captured, while the rest of them left without a trace after Roger met them and informed them to remain in the team or leave if they wanted, it was their choice. This way, Roger found out who were the ones most loyal to his father and which ones were only there without a choice. Knowing who will die for Terrence Clayton was very important for Roger to execute his plans. He suggested sending the troops into the war zone in small groups so they would be easily defeated by the Michaelsons' men with the argumentative reason that it would ensure the victory by taking the Michaelsons army down with the element of surprise. Roger also added to say, “Just in case, the first team fails, the next would accomplish the task. And if the second team also fails, the third team will take over. Wouldn’t it be idiocy if, after a few teams, our men still fail?” Everyone in Terrence’s army agreed to Roger’s idea. The thought that they were being played never crossed their minds knowing he is the son of the person they are serving with their loyalty to death.
Roger could not make a call to Don Leon again, so he used his burner phone to send a message instead. He informed the Don that Clayton’s men are camping and spread around the area thinking the youngest Michaelson and his girl were on the site. He gave the exact location for Don Leon’s men to subjugate the rest of the soldiers on standby and end this chaos once and for all.
“Anna, I got this message from an unknown number,” Leandro did not dally to inform Brianna of the message that he received.
“I will send one of our active companies to that location right away,” Brianna answered. She did not hesitate to follow her guts and instincts, it had always been a good guide for her in every mission. But she still reminded everyone of them to double their cautiousness to avoid any risk of falling into any traps. But these men are well trained and perfectly knew what to do as well as whatever they were doing, so before the day ended, before the sun hid its face from this side of the earth, they conquered the remaining fighters of Terrence Clayton, while the citizen was in an uproar from everything they saw on different TV channels and online flash reports and pop up advertisements.
Aside from the private armies that ran out of luck dying on the battlefield, only a few dozen were bruised and injured, including Tatum Eliott. The families of the victims who suffered injustice and unnecessary deaths under Terrence Clayton’s hands picketed in front of the hall of justice to get Terrence Clayton sentenced to Death Penalty.
The whole country was in havoc. The newsmen, the government officials involved, and the people were loudly creating a noise. The president had no choice but to declare an order that as soon as every piece of evidence is found to be true and correct, Terrence Clayton will be sentenced and punished accordingly. But the people did not buy the President’s words pointing out that if he remains in jail, he just gets special treatment as he does at the moment. The people threatened to accuse the President of being on the same side with the convicted ex-Vice president if he fails to decide right away, so on the very same day, Terrence Clayton was declared to be punished by execution.
