Chapter 217: Chapter 217
“What are all of these?” Lucien asked looking at a slideshow of files with word documents and images. “Isn’t that the address of the warehouse where we found the human organ harvesting? Are these papers the legal documents of property ownership?”
“Yes! And someone sent me this file after I failed to hack into their firewall!” Jack answered with a victorious laugh.
“Wait…! The ownership is under the name of… Will somebody zoom that part where the name is printed and signed?!” Leandro frowned as he also tried to read the content of the document on the wide screen in front of him and Andy Lockwood.
“Terrence Clayton!?”
Andy, Leandro, Lucien, and Jack almost read and uttered the name aloud in unison. Brianna scoffed. In her thoughts, “got ya!” was bouncing although her facial expressions remained as calm as always.
“How did you get this? Are you sure they are legit?” Brianna asked calmly instead of showing her pure delight. She still wanted to make sure they weren’t rejoicing over a fake victory.
“It was sent to me through an IP address that led me to an internet cafe in the North Central subway station,” Jack answered hurriedly. “And before I shared the information with all of you, I made sure to check if these are legit like you just asked. And I cannot be wrong, B, these documents are legit and authentic to the very last and minor details! This definitely came from the very person who had them secured until they were released into our hands.”
Jack was even clapping his hands in jubilation.
“Keep them safe and until we are done with Charles Anderson make sure to confirm its veracity, again and again. Triple-check if necessary. We can’t be played. You know that, right?” Brianna said with a firm tone. She wanted to rejoice expressively, but she was also worried it was too early to do. Anyways, they were still on the battlefield with Charles Anderson. Brianna’s plan was to take things one at a time to make sure nothing is overlooked and neglected.
“I can ask my lawyers to take a look at it for additional accuracy but I don’t want this document spreading through the internet. I will speak to them and present these papers in person as soon as I get the chance to do so,” Leandro chimed in.
“That would be great, grandpa!”
Lucien slapped his mouth in a hurry when he spoke the very same words and realized he just overshadowed Brianna’s voice when she was finally addressing Leandro as grandpa and not the usual Don Leon. Lucien was so regretful that because of him, his grandfather might have missed hearing Anna calling him the way he longed for.
But as the two elders’ laughter was heard over the microphone, Lucien felt relieved knowing his old folk was over the moon. Soon enough, Andy’s voice was heard.
“I will send someone to summon your lawyers. Just give them a call that you need them urgently and I believe we will have them here within an hour or less than two.”
“I am definitely making that call right now, get your men ready. My lawyers know they are to attend to my needs whenever and wherever I need them, so they just need a minute to get their things ready to head where I am,” Leandro spoke with enthusiasm as he fished his phone out of his inner right breast pocket of his windbreaker, a thin fabric jacket that he was wearing today.
“Master, someone is calling your private line with a number of a caller we cannot trace its origin,” Enzo informed Leandro over the phone. It was a line not many knew, but it was still given away for immediate and direct contact Leandro Michaelson was willing to take. Whoever had this phone number must have received them personally, but it was only the second time Leandro was getting a caller they had no way to trace and find out the identity of despite their IT team’s expertise. The caller must know whatever he was doing. But when Leandro got the call last time, it was for a piece of very helpful information. They were tipped that a group of ex-military men were to break into the prison where Terrence Clayton was being detained with an aim to take the man out behind bars without the formality and legality of the court trial.
“What could it be this time?” Leandro murmured.
“Master, shall I answer the call and put it on loudspeaker so you can speak to him?” Enzo asked again as the ringing continued.
“Go ahead, Enzo, let’s hear what is it this time. We have nothing to fear, answer that call and put it on speaker for everyone to hear. I will answer from here,” Leandro cleared his throat after his words as if preparing to speak to whoever was the caller.
“Jack, Luci, and everyone else in the IT team; except for Enzo, let’s focus on the task we have at hand,” Brianna briefly stated as soon as Don Leon finished his words.
Blake just made sure he had enough men left to handle the tasks in the resort before he told Brianna about his next move.
“Boss, we have the intruders seized and under control. I will leave enough men and bring the rest with me as we head to where Anderson is right now. Please send me the location,” Blake spoke over the micro mic in his wrist as he signaled to his assigned men to disembark and get into the military vehicles while the others along with his teammates Hoggins and Finn chose to ride their dirt bikes anticipating the place they are going to is more accessible with this kind of vehicle.
“Jack will send you the info right away,” Brianna answered shortly. Her words clearly informed Blake and Jack of what to do through a single statement. “When a mile radius, let me know. Do not move forward without my command, do you copy?”
“Yes, Boss,” Blake confirmed, then to assure his superior that he indeed got the order loud and clear, he repeated what Brianna had said. “I will inform you when we arrive at a mile radius to the spot, Boss.”
“Good. Godspeed!” Brianna spoke with a firm tone and utter formality.
This was the very first time she stood back while her team moved forward to a battlefield. It was not very comfortable for Brianna, but she did not want to disappoint her comrades with the thought that she was not confident of their abilities and capabilities to succeed in this mission without her by their sides. She may not be right there with them, but she will make sure they feel her presence with them behind the monitors as she served as an additional pair of eyes to watch over their every step and ears to listen to their voices as they ask for directions and assistance. It would be of no difference with having her next to them in the field. It may even lessen her comrades' wariness to protect and be mindful of her safety which may cause chaos, one way or another. So, standing where she was at the moment might just be for the best of everything and everyone concerned.
Tatum also reported that they were almost to subdue the whole barracks where Charles Anderson was. There had been exchanging of gunshots as the whole area seemed to be on guard expecting their enemies’ arrival and no one seemed to be captured alive, they even unpin grenades and jump into their opponents to make sure they die along with many or at least injure the rest within reach of the blast. Some even shot themselves when they are no longer able to fight knowing they only have a single bullet left and are already heavily injured.
“Not many are left standing from the enemies anymore. According to the cameras that we were able to hack into and get eyes on the whole surroundings,” Jack announced. “There is the target on the top floor of the building in the middle of the compound, most of the people with him are from the IT team,” he added.
“Boss B, what do we do next?” Tatum was evidently huffing, catching his breath as he asked while securing his spot by looking around him and his men’s surroundings in high alert.
Just as Brianna was about to answer, the voice of the caller Enzo reported to Leandro earlier filled the speakers for everyone to hear. The incoming call ended before Leandro was able to answer so they had to wait for the caller to dial again. There was no way to call back, and Leandro did not mind unaware that it was extremely important information to be sent by the caller. Leandro just gave Enzo an order that if ever the same caller dialed again, Enzo should just answer it and put the call on the loudspeaker.
