Chapter 205: Chapter 205
“Don’t make a sound. One bad move and you won’t see the light ever again,” Brianna warned the man.
“Boss B! Am not the enemy. What is going on?” the bodyguard was startled and scared.
“If you are who you say you are, then you should know the answer to this question. What is my grandma’s name?” Lucien spoke with clenched teeth.
He was prepared to fire the gun anytime if the bodyguard did not know the answer to his question. It was in their training to be familiar with the Michaelson family, faces, and identities in case such a situation as now was to arise at any time.
“Sarah Gilbert Michaelson, Sir!” the bodyguard hurriedly answered.
Brianna did not know such drills of training for the men working for the Michaelsons to know such names even of the deceased family member to check if the person was indeed their man or not. However, although Lucien confirmed the man to be the personal bodyguard, she stated her words with coldness before doing what she deemed necessary in their current predicament.
“Then, you wouldn’t mind if I do this to make sure no miscalculations take place,” Brianna shot the man by his thigh and he fell with his knees down to the ground first, eyes widened as he realized what just happened. “Don’t worry, it will only make you sleep. Once you are clean and proven not the mole here, you will wake up safely. But if you happen to be the opposite, I suggest you don’t wake up to suffer hell on earth.”
Lucien did not show any displeasure at Brianna’s ideas. She might sound cruel, but putting the man to sleep was not a bad idea as well. They were not completely sure of who was genuine and who was wearing masks among the bodyguards for the time being.
“Dad, do we have any other way out of here?” Lucien asked Levi.
Brianna was busy checking the hallway from her position behind the door and estimating what possible move could she do that would make her take the bodyguards down one by one without creating a fuss and getting discovered by the enemies. If there was a mole left among their people guarding all the exits for the four of them.
“I’m afraid there is none, Luci,” Levi answered in a hushed tone. “But I have an idea. Not very hygienic but I guess we can deal with it later,” the dad added.
Lucien was confused and was just about to ask when he saw his dad reach for a silicon mask on the floor.
“What is that?” Asked Lucien with bewilderment.
Brianna answered instead of Levi as the older Michaelson was busy putting the mask on. He could not answer as the mask was made to fit anyone who wears it like its second skin. Brianna had thought about it but she dumped the idea since her physique was too obvious for a woman with the private bodyguard’s face. It wouldn’t have worked if Brianna was the one to pretend as the bodyguard.
“It’s the silicon mask this idiot was wearing to make us believe Mr. and Mrs. Michaelsons were being securely kept safe by your grandpa’s hired private security. The three of them wear this kind of mask. And we can only hope the real people with these faces are safe somewhere else as we speak.”
“I can go out there and call them one by one, you deal with them as soon as they get in here,” Levi stated as soon as he got the mask worn properly. His body built was not far from the bodyguard’s so with all the chaos they were facing at the moment, it would have been rare if not zero possibility for anyone to notice.
“Are you sure about this, sir?” Brianna asked politely.
“Yes, don’t worry, I will just tell them to wait for my signal,” Levi answered. “They will listen to me with this face as their team leader.”
Brianna and Lucien glanced at each other as if trying to assess the older Michaelson’s words. Lucien was not very confident, but he was waiting for what the expert would say. And that expert was no other than Anna. So, Lucien did not say anything, he moved closer to Levi to check his dad’s mask and made sure no flaws were noticeable. Then, he silently waited for what Anna would say. Lucien was somehow sure Anna was thinking of a more viable way to deal with their situation, making use of the mask.
“Or I can go with him wearing another mask,” Lucien suggested. He hurriedly moved to take off one of the two other men’s masks.
But Brianna shook her head. Sending the two Michaelsons would be risky.
“Let’s do it this way…” Brianna spoke after a good thought. “We will walk out there, but the security team leader should appear to be my hostage and his men will have no choice but surrender. I might not get to talk a lot before firing my weapons, so I will have to apologize in advance again. Are you ready, sir?”
Levi nodded his head. With how she came into the room like a wrecking ball, Levi was of no doubt she will get to do the task flawlessly. Besides, he has heard how excellent this lady was when it came to fights in the battles, deadly or not. His son, Lucien, always boasts and shares his excitement regarding this girl whether they meet in person or even in a mere phone call. And his dad, Leandro, who seemed to disdain women in the field of men’s profession, seemed to have had a change of heart about such mentality. And now, witnessing how she can be very decisive and accurate in her tactics even in a limited time possible, Levi was astonished and convinced Anna was indeed living up to the words of praises she is being labeled with.
“Luci, you know what to do here, okay?” Brianna turned to Lucien, speaking in a stern tone, she asked.
“About that. I am taking him as my hostage. We will walk out casually and take them down with T-guns,” Lucien answered, wearing a mask.
“I am not sure about this idea of yours. Your grandfather will never forgive me if anything happens to the both of you out there,” Brianna frowned.
“Trust me, please. I tried my best to stay passive when you climb up the window to save my parents, I can no longer let you walk out there again to face another danger. But, instead, please, keep my mom safe. That would be my sincerest request right now,” Lucien answered solemnly.
Levi was baffled to see the two argue. It was not a loud kind of argument. It was even lovely to watch as they both clearly love each other dearly, although the lady was not the typical expressive woman. Not even like his wife, Sandra. Her affections were expressed in cold but somehow sweet. Just like ice cream, even in the winter.
“Dad let’s go,” Lucien pulled his dad towards the door to exit the room like he mentioned they would do to deal with the rest of the bodyguards outside.
Brianna was torn between accepting Lucien’s idea. She knew how much the only son loved his parents, especially his mom. Brianna concluded this was Lucien’s way of asking Brianna to make sure his mom was safe. Aside from that, the idea of the two men walking out in the hallway wearing masks was more viable that her suggestion to take the security team leader as a hostage to make the rest of the guards fall asleep, one by one.
“Luci!” Brianna called out cautiously.
The room was too quiet and Lucien was actually all ears to every sound Anna would make before he steps out of the room, so he turned his head around instantaneously when he heard her voice calling for his name.
“I won’t forgive you if any of you two get hurt out there, do you understand?”
Lucien just grinned widely and with a soft snortle he responded in words without a voice.
“I love you, babe! I will be right back!”
Then he turned around again to open the door and tapped his dad’s right shoulder saying he should walk ahead. He was the leader after all.
