Chapter 203: Chapter 203

“Where are you now?” Leandro Michaelson asked.

“We’re in the crowd,” Brianna answered vaguely. “Don’t look for us. Please focus to look on the picture from a farther view. We cannot miss anything. If we are dealing with Charles Anderson, we should be wise enough to consider all the possibilities of him anticipating our every move.”

“Copy that,” Leandro answered. “Please be safe. I trust you know what you are doing, so I will let you do your thing and also look at the surrounding within a mile radius.”

The old Michaelson did not argue with Anna. If he was blind about her whereabouts, he was happy to know that it wasn’t only him who had no eyes on Anna and Lucien, Jack Foster was the same.

The moment Brianna and Lucien got into the room, their lips parted but only to make sure no one else was with them inside it, pretentiously giggling. When they confirmed they were the only souls in the room, Brianna checked the whole place for any exits that she could use to get into the room where Levi and Sandra were. At the same time, Lucien looked around to spot where the surveillance camera’s position. He was supposed to cover the lenses if there were any. It wouldn’t have been suspicious for them to do since they made the impression that they were about to do nasty things in the room. He found one, and with a mischievous smile, he covered it with a piece of palm-size notepad paper with chewed bubble gum from his mouth to secure it would not fall.

Knowing they were safe from any possibility of being watched, Brianna took off the dress she was wearing and climbed out the window to get to the floor above them. The window was the only way she could get into the room where she knew Sandra and Levi Michaelson were in. So, there was no other choice but to climb out of it from where she and Lucien were and reach the window in the restroom area of the upper floor.

This location in the building was the area where resident doctors would have their private offices. The room above was Sandra’s, while the room Lucien and Brianna were in belonged to another doctor who had filed for a two-weeks leave from work. So it was empty. It only looked like Brianna opened the door so easily as if it wasn’t locked, but she actually picked its lock while pretending she pinned Lucien on it, kissing him. It was not so challenging for Brianna to do, so it looked like the room was not locked even when it was, actually.

Brianna has heard the report from the team that she sent to check the other building that they have had the suspicious individuals in captivity. They shoot them with tranquilizers using a silenced gun to avoid unnecessary deaths since they were not sure the person would indeed be an enemy or mistaken as such.

“Babe, tell me, what can I do? I know you are used to moving on your own, but please let me give you a hand or two,” Lucien could not help worrying for Anna as he watched her climb out the window. It wasn’t too narrow, but they were above the tenth floor of the building. If she makes a single bad move, it would be fatal for her to fall off and drop to the concrete ground.

“You wait for my signal. I am hoping we can walk out the door but the possibility of taking the same way I am going in is not to be taken off the picture just yet. Although I am more positive we will take the door to exit the room, I still have to make sure, so we don’t make things worse. Do as I say, do you understand, Luci?” Brianna answered with a stern tone.

“I promise to do everything you say, please trust me,” Lucien replied with a worried mien.

As a man, he felt helpless that she was doing all the risky tasks every time they were on a mission. But aside from the fact that she could admittedly do everything with the highest percentage of success to accomplish them, Lucien does not want to add to whatever Anna was already having on her plate to handle. He would fill up his shortcoming on the battlefield by pampering her when they are out of it. Lucien would serve her in everything she would want, even those that she doesn’t want but Lucien believes she deserved to get and have as a woman.

And like every other time, Lucien chose to make the task easier and lighter by making sure he let Anna take the lead while he obediently complied.

Anna was going to use a grappling hook gun to climb up on a rope. She shot the hook a floor higher than her target location to avoid being noticed. Matthew Reeves had known Brianna, his niece would use such items on her missions, so he created a unique, efficient, and compact gun with an accurate weight capacity for her to get pulled up and down or swing if she needed to.

“Jack, what do you see inside the room?” Brianna asked as she balances her stand on the window sill of the bathroom in Sandra Michaelson’s office.

“The cams went off, B,” Jack answered. “Something like a signal jammer is activated but only the communication and the single security camera in the room are deactivated. We asked the men guarding the hallway if they could check on the people inside the room, and one of the men stepped out to report to Don Leon about the situation.”

“Okay,” was the only word Brianna said before she carefully slid the window open to get into Sandra Michaelson’s private office.

Without telling anyone, Brianna turned off her line connecting to Jack and everyone else. Then she dialed Lucien’s private phone line.

“Just stay in line, I may not get the chance to dial later, so I called you now. Don’t let anyone know whatever I am doing. I am not sure but I have doubts about what is really going on up here,” Brianna tried to speak as clearly as she could although in a very soft voice.

It was not new for Brianna to act the way she was acting now, if she gets the gut feeling that something isn’t right, she would not have to explain her actions in advance to anyone. The first instinct is to make sure she walks out of her mission alive, injured, wounded, succeeded, or failed, her priority is to walk out of it with the hope that she will get another chance to collect or return the bullet to whoever fired at her.

Right now, she was feeling that weird and crazy whispers that something was not normal. And she was not going to compromise her moves getting detected or noticed before she makes sure her doubts are cleared and clarified.

“I’m in,” Brianna whispered over the phone knowing Lucien was listening to her.

Brianna had the plan in mind to shoot all the bodyguards with a tranquilizer just like the rest of the team had done to those people they suspected to be enemies without any evidence and deal with the situation later when they confirm the identities of the captives and do whatever is necessary to be done. She moved without making any sound and tried to check the position of everyone in the room. From her position, it was a great challenge to see the whole room and get an accurate sight of the people in the room.

But her doubts did not sober down. Why aren’t anyone speaking from the people in the room? Considering there were a few men of private security guarding the hallways, elevators, and fire exits, Sandra and Levi would have had the liberty to talk whatever they wanted to say, ask about the progress of their situation, or ask if there was or if their rescue was coming. Others could even expect one from the couple to panic and pace around the room. But none!

“Something is not right,” Brianna whispered again. “I’m coming in!”

Knowing there were only three men with the Michaelson couple, Brianna just made sure she know which direction was the couple so she could avoid going there. If she fires the gun, it wouldn’t have been a problem for Sandra and Levi’s safety, but if because of her the enemies fire a shot, she might escape the bullet but the couple might not. And just as she had thought, the enemies stood behind the blindfolded, tied, and gagged-with-neckties mouth of the couple to cover their body and make Brianna surrender.

“Put your gun down, Bitch!” a guy said removing his silicon mask. “Do as I say or they will die. Their death will be another blood in your hands.”

Brianna smiled sinisterly.
