Chapter 193: Chapter 193

“Who could Charles call for help?” Jack asked, thinking aloud all by himself.

The night passed without Brianna and Lucien knowing what happened outside the secured walls of her home. But her body clock woke her up before sunrise.

Brianna looked around.

Lucien was still sound asleep with his back flat on the bed, while Brianna had her left arm and leg embracing Lucien’s torso. It looked like she was clinging unto Lucien, while the man had his right arm above his head and his left arm served as Brianna’s pillow under her nape, with the hand holding her from behind.

Brianna blinked her eyes.

“I must have mistaken him as my body pillow,” she thought.

Then, Brianna moved slowly to get up. She did her best not to wake the man up, and she thought she succeeded, but Lucien pretended to sleep when he felt Brianna moving beside him. He was curious to know what she was going to do. Lucien was also trying to analyze how to act and respond appropriately after a wild night they have shared. If it was only for Lucien to decide, he wanted to tie knots with her officially and properly to take responsibility for everything that happened between them overnight. But he was also aware that this was something he shouldn’t decide on his own. He had to take things slow. Lucien deemed it needed to make his steps slowly but surely. He was quite aware that if his move rushed even in the slightest, it would only aggravate the chances of him doing things smooth and lovely for the only woman his heart beats for. His Anna. His beloved and wild in bed, Anna.

“Good god…” he held his groan, not to let any sound slip out of his mouth. Lucien had to turn and lie on his side to the bed because he could feel his morning wood activated. But his position made him also see everything Brianna was doing after she came out of the washroom.

Like always, Brianna did her morning rituals. Her daily meditation ritual every morning as soon as she wakes up.

Lucien saw Brianna take a rubber mat out of the bottom drawer of her drawer chest next to the window in her room. As the sunrise would be too bright for her eyes, Brianna would position her back towards the window and her face to the room; now facing Lucien’s direction on the bed. But she had her eyes close whenever she would meditate, so she did not notice Lucien was quietly and amusingly watching her as Brianna sat with her legs crossed on the rubber mat. Lucien saw Brianna stay in the same position for about twenty minutes. Then she started to stretch her body as her form of exercise. Then she covered her body with a black, long, and loose satin house robe; underneath were her sports bra and yoga pants. Then she walked out of the room.

In everything she did, Lucien noticed that aside from the sound of water in the faucet when she washed, everything was done without making a sound. She was like a cat walking around even when she opened and closed the door.

“Did she know I was already awake?” Lucien asked himself. Then he comforted himself. “Maybe not. She would have come close to me if she knew I was no longer asleep, right?” he murmured. There was no way to know which of his thoughts were right unless he asked her directly. “I better get up and face whatever awaits me!”

Lucien felt staying in the room was more than the torture he would get if he bravely walked out of the room and faced her, his Anna. So the man hurriedly washed up. He also noticed an extra bathrobe was neatly folded and placed on the side of the lavatory as if it was prepared for him to use. It was also color black, so it wasn’t awkward to use for him as a man. Lucien smiled.

“She prepared a bathrobe for me? What a sweet wife she would make!” Lucien spoke to his reflection in the mirror. He felt like bragging, but the only audience he had was his own face looking right back at him. Nevertheless, Lucien was happy beyond words. He excitedly got himself washed and walked out of the bedroom looking for his Anna.

Brianna went to check her security cameras’ screen monitors. She was going to see how many got trapped in her yard and check if it was safe to turn off the auto setting of her yard’s traps. She saw two men bleeding to death in the front yard. But as she scanned further, Brianna saw a few more men were trapped in her backyard as well. She dialed Jack Foster’s number.

“Hey, B! Are you guys alright?” Jack Foster asked as soon as he saw whose call came through his line.

“Did you see what happened in my yard last night?” Brianna asked back.

“Yeah. I was worried but knowing you, not very much, I can say,” Jack chuckled. “But kidding aside, nobody got inside your place, right?” Jack asked seriously.

“None of the traps within a meter distance to the house were activated, so I guess nobody made it close,” Brianna replied indifferently.

“Well, I just had to ask because I couldn’t find you and the young Michaelson anywhere on the screen of your home security cameras,” Jack sighed in relief.

“Well, you shouldn’t have seen where we were, or else I would need to cut your tongue so you never get the chance to speak anything about whatever you might have seen,” Brianna answered without stammering.

Jack was flabbergasted!

“What?! You would cut my tongue if I ever saw you?” he asked softly. He was scared to think that Brianna already knew he sent a part of a video clip where he saw Lucien carrying Brianna to her bedroom.

“You don’t have a camera in my bedroom, right?” Brianna asked with a stern tone.

Jack answered eagerly.

“Of course, I don’t have a camera installed in your bedroom! Why would I do that?!”

“So much for that,” Brianna change the topic right away. “What do you think about getting married?”

“What?!” Jack was blown away by Brianna’s sudden question. “What are you talking about?”

“Dude, I am asking you if you have ever slept with anyone,” Brianna answered.

“Ahhhh, about that?” jack cleared his throat. “Do I have to answer this?”

“Yes, you do!” Brianna answered sternly. “I need to know your answer. Besides, I cannot ask anyone else but you, so suck it up!” Brianna snorted as she commanded.

“Well, despite my heart problem, I have had a few chances to explore my masculinity in bed with women.”

Jack answered with confidence.

“How was it?” Brianna asked.

“Are you asking because you wanna do it and are worried how it might be?” Jack probed.

“Just tell me how you felt about it. And I mean during your first time,” Brianna insisted.

“Damn! It felt good like crazy!” He blurted with a chuckle. “But I can only speak from men’s perspective. You are also aware of that, right?” Jack reminded Brianna.

“I know,” Brianna sighed. “I will turn off the trap system. Please send some people to clean up my yard. Some aren’t totally useless yet. We can ask them about who made the hit on me or to the Michaelson.”

“You mean your future husband, Michaelson?” Jack teased Brianna.

“Yeah, about that, we will discuss it further later. Tell our men to send the dead bodies to the medic school needing corpses for cadavers,” Brianna ordered.

“Got it!” Jack replied. “You should give the old Michaelson a call. He had been so worried about his grandson’s whereabouts the whole night. I couldn’t confirm anything as you were nowhere to be seen even inside the walls of your home.”

“I will take care of it,” Brianna affirmed. “Thanks… Oh, one more thing,” Brianna suddenly added in a yelp.

“Yes?”

“Is there anything I need to know?” she asked.

Jack paused. He did not know what to say. Brianna’s question was too sudden. He was still asleep when her call came in, but when Jack saw it was from Brianna, his sleep flew out the window. He felt eager to talk to her for a reason, but as their conversation went on, he lost focus, and even the memory of what he was supposed to tell her wasn’t activated yet from his slumbered brain.

On the other hand, Brianna was only asking to get an estimation of what to focus on as to whoever could have made such a bold move to invade her place. They have a lot of enemies, and not all of them knew where her home was. Whoever could have found her here would either be brave enough to walk into her trapped-filled yard or clueless enough to take even a single step inside her property.
