Chapter 168: Chapter 168
Blake was guilty and didn't know how to explain himself. His words came out stuttering. His mind was busy thinking of ways to clear his name and beg for mercy from his Boss B, never mind Lucien Michaelson; Blake was less worried about him. Blake was more deadly scared of how he would be dealt with concerning Boss B.
"I swear, I didn't mean to see what I saw!" Blake eagerly stated, taking a few thermal vision binoculars off his neck. "See these? I quickly confiscated them from our men so they would not see anything of what was going on here," he desperately explained.
Lucien was amused to see how the bad-ass mercenary was explaining with difficulty to Anna. He was standing behind Anna's back, holding the blanket he wrapped around her shoulders, so Anna could not see Lucien's face. He looked at Blake with a suppressed grin, seeing how Blake was dreadful about being misunderstood by Anna.
Brianna was still eyeing Blake. She was silently asking what exactly did he see.
"I didn't see much more than two people who seemed to be…." Blake paused. He was not sure if he should continue his words. But seeing that his Boss B's eyes were turning sharp daggers, he had to finish his words with a wincing face. "Being…uhmmm… intimate…" but he did not wait for even one of the couple to say a word. He hurriedly spoke again. "But I swear I did not see more than that. And I told everyone to stand at a distance. I waited for twenty minutes before I knocked on the door."
Brianna got the answer to her silent questions. She also saw how Blake Gordon explained himself; it was enough for Brianna to believe this man won't cross her, so she was convinced. She might have done the same if the situation had been turned.
"You waited for twenty minutes, huh?" Brianna asked mockingly. She started to step out of the box they were in.
"I didn't know when you guys started, so I…." Blake scratched his head, explaining, but Lucien butted in defensively.
"Babe, I can last more than that!" Lucien exclaimed. He felt like Anna was mocking him.
"Well, see about that. You have a lifetime to prove it, anyway," Brianna said without giving the man a look.
She started to walk away, heading to the open door.
Lucien and Blake looked at each other. Their faces had different expressions.
Lucien was mortified to think that Anna might be doubting his abilities to pleasure her. At the same time, Blake was astounded to hear his Boss B's words.
"Lifetime?" he murmured. His mind was worried for the young Michaelson to have offended the fierce and ruthless Big B to be threatened with a lifetime punishment.
But Lucien heard him, and his worried face turned to a broad, crooked smile.
"I asked her to marry me, and she said yes. So I will be his slave for a lifetime," he proudly stated.
Blake was speechless. His eyes blinked in astonishment as the man in front of him looked foolish. But Blake also saw the genuineness in Lucien's joyous aura.
"I'm closing this door in ten seconds from now," Brianna yelled.
"Boss!" Blake jumped from his feet. He was not going to miss that first and last warning.
"Honey, my wife, please wait," Lucien sweetly yelled back.
"Let's see until when are you going to enjoy that," Brianna snorted menacingly. Then she turned to a still baffled Blake.
"I need to talk to Jack," she said with an open palm in front of Blake.
Blake did not dally to hand Brianna everything he handed for Boss B to choose from. His earpiece and his mobile phone. Brianna chose the phone, seeing that the earpiece was the one Blake had in his right ear pulled out to give Brianna. Then she dialed Jack's number.
"Jack, tell me where Terrence Clayton is right now," Brianna said sternly.
"B! Thank goodness, you're back!" Jack happily answered the call with relief. "Are you hurt?"
Aside from Blake, no one knew where Brianna and Lucien were the whole time. Not even Jack nor the old Michaelson. The abductors took their phones and anything they thought would lead the trace to find their captives.
And just like Blake had told Brianna, he made sure no one got close to where the two were being intimate. He just made sure they were really being intimate. Besides, it was thermal vision binoculars. He could not hundred percent be sure the couple was his Boss B and Lucien, so he ordered their men to search in different directions. When Blake received the report that Brianna and Lucien weren't found yet, he assumed the two were who they were looking for, so he knocked on the door.
"You cannot tell anyone about whatever you saw," Lucien blocked Blake and spoke lowly. He did not want to bother Anna, who was talking to Jack on the phone. "I am proud, but I don't want my wife to be gossiped about and talked behind her back, do you understand?"
"Congratulations!" Blake nodded with a smile.
"What is that smile supposed to mean?" Lucien accepted Blake's offer of a handshake as he congratulated Lucien, but his face had a silly smile on it.
"I wonder if you can manage being tied up with her for a lifetime," Blake whispered.
"You'll be amazed to know how she can wrap me around her tiny little fingers," Lucien whispered back.
Had it not been about Boss B they were discussing, Blake would have burst into a boisterous laugh already, but now, they were like teenage girls whispering and hushing at each other as they waited for Brianna to finish her call.
"Good luck, sir!" he bowed his head, pretending to dust his pants on the knees while his face was widely grinning.
"Don't dare piss her off with work so she won't be grumpy when she comes back to me, do you hear me?" Lucien growled, warning Blake Gordon.
Lucien was aware he was not to demand anything from Anna to give up even when he becomes her husband. And he was not planning to annoy her with such topics. He was not going to change her for who and what she was. He was preparing himself to be like her if necessary. He may not be as best as she was already with what she does, but Lucien was willing to be side by side with her to ensure her safety. He was confident that Anna was only after her parents' death getting justice, and he was more than willing and sure he also wanted his deceased parents-in-law to have their peace in the afterlife. They did not deserve the death that took them away from Anna's side too early in life, so Lucien was also furious at whoever did all these unfortunate things to the Peters family.
"I might have to say the same thing, sir," Blake retorted with a subtle smirk. "You can't piss her as your wife and make her relent stress on us, her team."
"I don't think she will ever be doing that," Lucien confidently replied. "I only have affection and love for her. I can't stand even the thought of any foul emotion she might ever feel because of me."
"She is a person with fewer words but more actions," Blake stated. "You might not notice it when she is already mentally giving you a final warning. And she doesn't count. The first warning is usually the one, and only you will get. I suggest you watch carefully," Blake cleared his throat to prevent his laughter from breaking off him.
Lucien's back straightened. Blake has a point.
"I will remember that," Lucien smiled. He also cleared his throat when he saw Anna had finished her call with jack and was walking in their direction.
"We have to deal with this asshole of Terrence Clayton now or never," she declared. "Are you coming?" she asked Lucien.
"I am never leaving your side, remember?" Lucien stood with his chest out, proudly declaring his claim on Anna.
"Well, then," Brianna chuckled. "We are heading to their hideout. We are going to surprise them," she added. Then turned to Blake.
"Get two sets of clothes. We have to take a quick shower first," she ordered. "There would be a place to do that in here, right?"
Lucien's face brightened at the thought that Anna was going to have a shower with him.
"Dream on, you are taking the men's shower. I'll have the ladies," Brianna scoffed as soon as she understood the silly thoughts reflecting Lucien's smile. She was feeling sticky, and she wasn't comfortable with it, so she demanded to get washed up before she proceeds doing what she deemed needed to be done.
According to Jack's information, Terrence Clayton seemed not to know Brianna. They were only after Lucien Michaelson, being that he was the grandson of Leandro Michaelson. And they thought Brianna was Lucien's bodyguard that came to rescue him from the abductors. Had they known it was Boss B they had in their hands, they would have never let her live. They must not have recognized her to be the one who had been under Charles Anderson's mercenary team whom Clayton had been wanting to have a hold and give orders for Brianna to take down whoever he wished to.
Charles used to be under Clayton's authority, but they had an argument, and during those times, Clayton was not as powerful as how he is now. Charles was able to pull himself out of Clayton's grasp in exchange for silence so as not to ruin the politician's image in the eyes of the people. But things had changed now. Clayton claims to be able to do whatever he wants to be done. And he needed Big B to do an errand none of his trained men could accomplish.
They had her in their hands, but they did not know Big B's face as she would always conceal her looks. They would have rejoiced knowing they had two birds in their hands already. But the leader who had Lucien was still unaware they were driving around without their captives."
There were four trucks to have left the warehouse. But as the leader was speaking to Clayton on the phone when he signaled the first three trucks to leave, he pointed for one of his men to drive the truck where the captives were kept. The man left, but he stopped in the middle area of the warehouse driveway and parked the car neatly, then jumped to use the toilet. But as the rescue team was already invading the place, he was captured by Blake's team after sitting on the toilet like a king. He did not say anything about the Michaelson and the woman with him inside the freezer truck. He wasn't asked anyway. No one had to know he was among the abductors to lessen his crime.
