Chapter 164: Chapter 164
Leandro was also shocked to hear what Jack Foster said about the doctor’s information.
“Taking from their location, what they are doing is illegal. Take that idiot out of that room and knock him out. Let the other doctors continue the surgery and save that poor boy,” the old Michaelson commanded Blake Gordon.
“Yes, sir! Copy that!” Blake dutifully replied.
He moved to do as ordered with guidance from Jack on who is who and whose to do the tasks.
Then he motioned for some of his men to pull the ex-medical officer out of the room. But the man must have noticed that his identity had been known by the other party, so he discreetly waited for a chance to make his move.
The soldier Blake has ordered to take the doctor out of the room had n choice but to take a shot defensively, and the doctor was hit in his side at a very close range. The gun had a suppressor, and the team of medical practitioners on the operating table only heard a loud thud when the doctor fell down, kneeling on one knee while another soldier was also pointing a gun at him. The second soldier was caught off guard when the doctor grabbed the other end of the soldier’s pistol and, with the other hand, pointed it at his head. The doctor pressed the soldier’s finger on the trigger, and another shot was fired.
The doctor dropped dead right outside the room where the boy was lying on the operating table. Leandro and Jack saw what happened through the cameras of the soldiers witnessing the incident.
“He must have known we knew who he was already and wanted to avoid being asked questions,” Leandro commented. “Search the place thoroughly! And Jack, check along with all the IT team whatever connections do these warehouses around have. I feel like we are looking for Anna and Lucien in a huge pile of haystacks,” Leandro ordered.
The rescue team searched for Brianna and Lucien, but they failed to find the two for almost an hour. The place wasn’t too vast, but they were checking every corner, never leaving any stone unturned, yet they have found none, even the trace of where the two might have been taken by their abductors.
“This is not possible! Unless there had been any vehicle to exit the area within a mile radius from this location, they are here somewhere,” Blake blurted out. He had not seen vehicles moving because he was inside every warehouse they were searching for their Boss B and the young Michaelson, but his thoughts came out loud.
“I have seen delivery trucks left about fifteen minutes ago, I kept records of their plate numbers, but I did not bother telling you because it came from the farthest end of the block. It couldn’t have anything to do with B and Lucien.
“No, Jack, you have got to trace them back and send people to check for sure. With how things are turning right now, everything is possible. We cannot take any chances! They will surely have to move, knowing we are already aware of their locations as we came to rescue the Young Master Michaelson,” Blake spoke with urgency. “We will keep searching in this place and all the nearby warehouses to find Boss B and Young Master until you confirm if they were in those delivery trucks or not.”
“I agree with Blake Gordon, Jack,” Leandro added. “Just let me know the route those trucks were taking, and I will ask General Lockwood to check on them.”
“Yes, Don Leon,” Jack nodded vigorously as he replied positively. Soon enough, he gave the information Don Leon had asked him to find and also searched for the connectivities that could possibly tie the two warehouses. But taking on Blake’s words, Jack also extended his search radius. The thought that those trucks might really have something to do with Brianna and Lucien bothered him so much.
Leandro dialed the direct phone number of the General to ask for help. He told his friend everything that had happened, and as expected, Andy was agitated to know Little Liz was abducted and nowhere to be found.
“Tell me what I can do to help,” Andy did not even wait for Leandro to tell him every detail. He deemed it was wise to move and ask questions if he had any.
“Some delivery trucks left the warehouse area about twenty minutes ago. It did not occur to us to check as the trucks moved too far from where our men were to rescue Anna and Lucien, but as the abductors seemed to have moved like ghosts, vanishing in thin air, we had to widen our
Range of search,” Leandro clearly stated. “I will give you the routes they are heading to, and your task is to check every truck if they have my boy and Anna in there.”
“Okay, leave it to me. I will let you know the results as soon as I get them,” Andy Lockwood answered firmly. He cut the call and ordered his men to gear up.
Soon enough, he was inside his military range rover and heading out of their camp. He called Leandro back to get updates and ask for the exact location he was supposed to go. He was given the rough direction, and he told his men to take that route and waited for the additional information.
“Who dares touch our babies?!” Andy growled in anger. He was vexed, annoyed, and angered like a bear who got poked.
Andy has children, and they are all grown-ups, but he had never had the luxury of having daughters, not even among his grandkids. Anna had been the apple of his eyes ever since he found her. And with such emotions for Brianna, he was furious at the thought that his favorite child was in danger or in the hands of the enemy.
“They are under Clayton’s payroll,” Leandro said. “I guess we can picture who is behind them.”
“We really have to take this idiot down,” Andy hissed. “We can’t even use the same technique on him because he is not an ideal parent to his kids as well.”
“Maybe we can pin him down. We found a slaughterhouse where one of his men, an ex-medical officer, was conducting a body organ harvest on a young boys’ body. I can guess it was for the black market,” Leandro clenched his jaw as he recalled what he saw on the screen.
“These are monsters. We really have to put an end to their evil works,” Jack joined the conversation between the two elders as he was about to tell the General about the location of where he was supposed to go. “I sent you the location, General Lockwood. And thank you for your help, sir!”
“Jack, Little Liz is a part of my family,” Andy replied. “Of course, I would help. You guys, you, Jack, and Leon owe me for not telling me ahead of time! And I will collect later, remember that!” Andy sneered at the two.
“You know well that we would always try our best and would only call for the ace when we can’t handle things on our own. And that is you. Our Ace!” Leandro cleared his throat, discreetly expressing his apologies.
“We are now in the last warehouse; an employee guided us to take hidden passages from one warehouse to the next. It was the same way Boss B and Lucien were taken away from the first location,” Blake reported.
The rest of the rescue team was checking every corner of the five warehouses while Blake demanded the employee -who was taken by surprise to see armed men looking like from the military, turning the warehouse upside down in search for a man and a woman, to take him to his boss. Blake cautiously followed the older man and got surprised when a concealed door would be open on the end side of the wall dividing one warehouse from the next. He only looked at a specific spot on the wall, and a narrow passage would be open, only enough for one person to get through.
Jack saw what Blake had seen, and he noticed something.
“There was no way for you to find that passage even if you spent all day searching. The scanner is not even visible. Even if you stared at the same spot, it wouldn’t have opened because your retinas are not registered in their system,” Jack said.
“They left already,” the old man said to Blake.
“What?! When? And how?” Blake’s questions came out like a bullet in a firing machine gun.
The older man checked the book records on the table, read the contents, and then showed Blake.
“Fuck!!!!” Blake smashed the book records on the ground.
He had felt weird when they could not find which way were Boss B and Lucien were taken by the abductors, but he was still convinced he moved in speed. Yet, he missed his target. He failed to rescue Boss B!
“They were on those delivery trucks that left already, Jack!” Blake ground his teeth in anger. He was disappointed and annoyed at his failure.
“General Lockwood is already chasing those trucks. Your Boss B will be fine, Blake Gordon, do you understand?” Jack sternly spoke. He wanted to be positive. He had to stay and talk positively. Because if anything happens to Brianna, he might wear a bomb vest and embrace Terrence Clayton to death.
“Anna! Anna! Wake-up!”
But Brianna would not respond. Lucien continued to call her name in a whisper.
“Anna, babe, please wake up!” Lucien called again.
“You have to wake up! Or I swear, I will kiss you till you run out of breath,” Lucien threatened her.
