Chapter 115: Chapter 115

The moment Tyler asked about Wesley's men, the one-eyed man, Marco Dobrev, along with his loyal men were fighting for their lives. They were heading to where Wesley was to fight the enemy together and leave the place one way or another. They did not know who was after them, so Marco came also to ask Wesley, his immediate superior. Marco did not care about Tyler, he could die or escape with them, but he wasn't a priority.

Soon they arrived at the door where he wanted to be.

"Boss!" Marco left his men outside the door and came in to check on his boss, Wesley, only to find him lying on the floor with his blood almost pooling on his sides by the lower extremities. He was about to shoot Brianna, but Tatum quickly moved to disarm him. Tyler and his bodyguard were already dead. Tatum did not waste his time shooting them as soon as they came into the room.

But Marco was not someone to surrender as easy as that. He fought hand-in-hand combat with Tatum while Brianna was asking Wesley some questions. Wesley was about to say Charles Anderson's real name when Tyler barged in. Another reason why Brianna gave Tatum a quick sign to shoot at them. She was just about to do the same when another intruder came in, interrupting her again!

A fight between a notorious assassin against a former military man occurred. Both did not want to lose from one another. Brianna did not waste her time watching them, but she remained cautious. She was too alert that she noticed when the one-eyed man tried to throw a fixed blade knife in Wesley's direction. She was aware of why the guy would do such a thing. If his superior dies, he automatically succeeds the position if he makes it here alive and returns to their camp or organization.

But unknown to Brianna, Marco was pointing his blade at her. He hated Big B for so long that he wanted to retaliate and execute his revenge on her, but his superiors wanted this "Bitch" alive and work for them. She would be his comrade, and he hated the idea to his core. To his bewilderment, Big B seemed to intentionally offer herself to his blade without the slightest effort to escape it.

Brianna spread her arms when she saw the one-eyed man throw a blade and yelped.

"No!!!!" She needed the man with prosthetic legs alive. She felt the great importance of whatever he knew even without the full memory of whatever it meant to her right at the moment.

"There you go, Bitch!" Marco triumphantly exclaimed. But his joy was short-lived. He saw his knife hit Brianna by her left chest, and he felt the pain himself. He looked down to his chest, and he saw a tactical combat neck knife was pushed to its tilt in his heart. "Fuck!" Marco groaned. He saw his opponent take a few steps back, away from him. And the next thing Marco felt was a sharp cut on his throat. He fell down with his knee first to the ground, and when he looked up, he saw Brianna holding the blade knife he threw and saw hitting her chest.

"Too bad for you. I don't have a heart, dumbass!" Brianna mocked him. "And another bad thing, you sharpened your knife too well!" She watched Marco take his last breath before she let her weakened lean on the wall.

"Anna!" Tatum yelled. He looked around to check if they were safe to leave the place. But as he could not be sure, Tatum preferred to wait for their rescue here in the room to secure their lives. He led her to sit in a safe spot while checking her wounds.

"Do not let that man die. I need him alive, do you understand?" Anna weakly uttered.

"You're wounded and weak, but you're more worried about him than yourself?" Tatum shook his head in disbelief.

"Check his pockets. He will have an antidote to the poison on his blades," Anna informed Tatum.

"What!?" Tatum was stunned at her words. She sounded so calm and composed while he was too nervous. Lucien Michaelson might skin him alive if this lady dies under his watch! "You mean to say that knife has poisoned you? Why would you even block it with your body?" He was blabbering as he panicked. He could not move to leave her even with such a short distance. He was worried. He knew he shouldn't panic but right now, he was. He felt all his military training was useless with a poisoned Anna in his hand. He tried to connect to the line.

"Can anyone hear me? Is anybody there? Boss, I need you right now. Please come and come quickly!" Tatum wanted to scream to express the urgency of his message to anyone who would get it, but he couldn't let their location be known to their enemies, so he had to groan to press the tone in his message.

As soon as Tatum finished his words, the door of the room he and Brianna were in was slammed open. A group of men in familiar gear walked in with formation. When Tatum was sure they were here to rescue him and Anna, he quickly called for their attention.

"Over here! We need a Medical Team!" Tatum yelled.

"No, we don't need them," Anna spoke softly. "They will worsen things with the way this is supposed to be handled. I need you to listen to me very carefully." Anna stated with maintained calmness.

"Anna! Anna! Where is she?" Lucien's voice thundered the room as he walked in with fear and panicked.

"Boss!" Tatum called out. Lucien was busy looking around that he did not see his men trying to point him in the direction where the person he was looking for was sitting with a worried former GI soldier to her side.

"Anna!" Lucien ran to her side when he heard Tatum's call and saw the two of them on the sidewalls. "What happened?" Lucien's fear intensified when he thought Anna was severely hurt in the heart area. He looked up at Anna's face, but when he noticed that she was too pale, Lucien did not want her to talk, so he turned to his driver.

"A poisoned knife hit her in the left chest, she pulled the knife out of her quickly, but I think the poison is starting to spread in her system," Tatum stated clearly. He was panicked when he was alone with Brianna, but now that he was sure they were safe from their enemies, Tatum felt his composure restored.

"What the...!" Lucien grabbed his hair in frustration. He hurriedly picked Anna up by his arms and was about to lift her when she spoke softly.

"Sir, I need the antidote now," Brianna glanced at Tatum, who moved like a flash to check on the one-eyed guy's pockets for anything he could find as an antidote. He took everything he found in Marco's pocket and showed them all to Brianna.

"Anna, this is all I have found," the driver slash bodyguard reported with fright.

Brianna checked everything Tatum presented her, but she shook her head. There was nothing of what she needed among what he brought to her.

"Please take me to his side. I will check him myself," Brianna uttered. She was getting weaker by the moment.

Lucien was stunned looking at the two of them while he was clueless of what to do but stayed quiet, assuming he would be more helpful that way, lifted Anna with utmost care and walked towards the guy Tatum got close to checked earlier. Then he ever so carefully put her down next to a lifeless man with blood pool spilling from his neck's cut. Anna saw how Tatum checked Marco's pockets, so she did not bother checking them again. Instead, she checked his wrists, none. Anna checked his fingers and ears, none. She had nowhere else to check, other than his neck.

"Gotcha!" Brianna snickered as she pulled Marco's necklace, his bloody necklace, away from his bleeding neck.

"Anna, let me ask someone to clean this first, okay?" Lucien asked gently. He waited till Anna nodded her reply, but when he looked up, the medical team almost jumped in fear. He was too scary as he silently conveyed his command to hurry up. And they did. Somebody took out some medical tray to pour antiseptic and rinse the blood on the necklace. It showed a tiny glass with powder in it. So little that Lucien was worried it wouldn't be enough. But Brianna patted his hand, holding her securely in his embrace.

"Here," Lucien opened the powder container and was about to pour all of it into Anna's mouth, but she asked for water.

The effect of the powder will be faster if it could flow in her bloodstream as soon as possible, and water would be helpful if they have some. Saliva would suffice, but only if there is no water available around. And effects will be more delayed. Those scenarios are when they are in warfare with nothing but bullets to secure their lives' safety until the antidote takes effect and overcomes the chaos of poison.
