Chapter 128: Chapter 128

The moment she reached the office it's already late in the afternoon and the other employees went for lunch in the canteen area.

"Oh! No...What should I say to him now ? Why was I so late to welcome him?"Khushi asked herself, getting nervous.

"It's okay Khushi. You can do it. There is no need to take so much stress for a small thing like that.",Khushi motivated herself and moved towards his cabin for her introduction.

But it seems like fate was not on her side today ,for sure.

Nervously, she straightened her blouse and checked her reflection in the hallway mirror, wanting to make a good impression.

With a deep breath, she approached the door to his office, rehearsing a welcoming smile.

Abeer had already seen her coming towards his cabin through his hidden cameras.

So he started moving forward to welcome her by opening his cabin's door for her.

As Khushi reached for the doorknob, her high heels betrayed her on the polished office floor.

Suddenly, her foot slipped on a mysterious object, possibly a loose paper or a spilled drop of coffee.

Panic surged through her as she teetered on the brink of falling, but she miraculously managed to regain her balance.

However, her valiant attempt at averting disaster took an unexpected turn, when she slipped again due to sudden power gone and there was darkness consumed all around .

In her attempt to avoid falling, she ended up tumbling directly into Abeer's arms who opened his cabin door at the same time.

Time seemed to stand still for that split second as their eyes locked in startled surprise in the dim light which was coming from the window.

Their lips met in an accidental and entirely unexpected kiss, leaving them both stunned.

Khushi felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment, her heart racing in her chest.

Meanwhile, Abeer's eyes widened, and his initial surprise melted into a mixture of astonishment and, perhaps, a hint of something more.

After an awkward moment, they both pulled away, their faces still flushed with a combination of shock and uncertainty.

Khushi stammered out an apology, her words a jumbled mess.

"I..am...I am so sorry Sir..I didn't mean to kiss you."Khushi apologized ,stuttering.

Abeer ,though taken aback, managed a faint smile and assured her it was alright, attempting to diffuse the tension that had suddenly filled the room.

"But I really love it."Abeer whispered slowly , thinking finally a good welcome had happened to him by her.

"What?Did you say something ?",Khushi asked ,hearing him mumbling.

"Hmm..yes.. It was just an accident. I knew you had no intention of kissing your boss like this.",Abeer muttered.

Khushi was trying to see his face in the dark but of no use as Abeer chose to walk away from her and sat on his chair ,turning his face against her so that when light came he could hide his face from her.

Little did they know that this serendipitous moment would be the start of a unique connection that would evolve as they worked closely together in the days to come.

Suddenly the light came, fading away the darkness.

"Thank God the light came. Sir first of all I am really very sorry for this incident but my own purpose to come here was to welcome you here as at that time when you came here ,I had to go out for some work.", Khushi tried to explain to him the reason for her absence at that time.

"It's okay Khushi. Well, I didn't mind that but I was disappointed with you for some other reason."Abeer complained about not letting her see his face.

"What Sir ?",Khushi asked, feeling restless as she had no idea of what he was talking about.

"Why did you reject my proposal in the first place ?",Abeer asked.

"Reject ? No Sir..I didn't.."Khushi tried to explain herself but Abeer stopped her in the middle.

"It's okay..you don't need to explain yourself for rejecting me. I mean my proposal.", Abeer sighed, faking disappointment.

"But Sir, I did not reject it in the first place. In Fact , I was more than happy to work with you.", Khushi protested.

"Is it so ?",Abeer questioned , chirping in excitement.

"Yes, Sir.",Khushi responded.

"Think before you speak, don't change your mind, otherwise.",Abeer tried to manipulate her with his words.

"No Sir. I have given commitment to you. I will not back off from my words.",Khushi promised with firm determination in her voice.

That was when Abeer turned his chair to show her , his face.

"Then from now onwards , you are appointed as my personal secretary Miss Khushi .",Abeer said, revealing his face in front of her.

Khushi gasped in shock, witnessing him in front of her.

All the memories she spent with him started flashing out in her mind and she recalled every moment she spent with him.

"Arnan?",Khushi asked , trying to confirm whether he was really here or was she daydreaming about him?

"Yesss, your Arnan aka your new boss, Abeer. ",Abeer introduced himself walking towards her.

Witnessing him coming towards her ,she started taking backward steps, until her steps halted in her way as behind her was the wall.

"You..How dare yo..",Khushi stuttered.

Abeer closed the distance between them , coming hell close to her, making her so nervous that no words escaped from her mouth.

She tried to walk away but failed miserably.

Abeer locked her in his cage by blocking her both ways, putting his hand on either side.

"Leave me..I don't talk with strangers. ",Khushi complained ,fuming in anger.

"Am I a stranger to you Khushi ?",Abeer asked with sadness in his voice.

"YES.. You are..",Khushi blurted ,rudely.

"No...I am your Arnan. Not a stranger.",Abeer said.

"No you are not. I don't know you and for your kind information I keep my private and professional life separate. ",Khushi said sternly.

"So you don't know me. Are you really sure ?",Abeer asked, narrowing his eyebrows.

"No you are a complete stranger to me and I have never seen you in my entire life. Now let me go."Khushi said.

Abeer released her from his cage and she started running towards the cabin door to leave from there when all of a sudden she heard a loud thud noise and she turned herself ,fear filled in her veins to witness something unexpected coming.
