Chapter 44: Chapter 44
He had a rough time just choosing a word to write. In the end, he wrote only one word ‘sorry’. Then he made the paper into a ball. Then threw it at Drake, but Drake threw the letter to the floor without reading it.
But Alex didn’t give up. He returned to make a letter and threw it at Drake. Even though Drake kept throwing away his letters he kept throwing his letters again and again. Until one of his letters hit Drake’s head so hard that his letter was open when it fell on Drake’s desk. Curiosity also gnawed at Drake’s heart until it moved him to open the letter that read:
‘Sorry, man?’
Looking at the contents of the letter Drake glanced at Alex for a moment with his annoyed gaze, and then he threw the letter away. It was then that Alex realized that it would not work. He felt hopeless and gave up on making another letter. Alex put his face on the table. He doesn’t know what else to do anymore. Meanwhile, Ruby is also saddened to see a moody Alex. Ruby tried to help but the way didn’t help at all.
Time is running out. It doesn’t feel like the bell coming home has been ringing and echoing all over the school. Alex, who doesn’t want to miss the chance to talk to his angry best buddy, puts a book in his bag in a hurry. Then he ran after Drake, who wanted to run. Alex immediately holds Drake’s hand and stops his friend, who wants to run away.
“Let go of my hand!” snapped Drake with a sharp look while thrashing.
“No, not before you talk to me. You need to see when you avoid me. We’ve been friends for a long time. Do you wish to destroy our friendship just because of one girl?” replied Alex while looking at Drake with a begging stare.
“Yes, yes! A girl that I love. The first girl I loved!” replied Drake with irritable eyes.
Alex was word-of-mouth, he was shocked and his eyes were wide open look at Drake. Drake looks furious, but from his eyes, a sharp stare in red dies can obviously see the pain, disappointment, and sadness in it. Alex is mute, silenced by the pain he sees from Drake’s eyes.
“Now get your dirty hands out of my hands.” Said Drake as he pulled Alex’s hand.
Alex fell silent, he could only stare at Drake stepping aside from him. Alex can clearly see the anger at Drake, even though he only looks at his back getting away. It’s the first time Alex has seen Drake that bad. Drake has always smiled in front of him. Seeing the anger he couldn’t see before was terrifying. It’s so scary that Alex can’t keep Drake from staying any longer.

Natty, meanwhile, is getting ready for basketball practice with her team. But she felt anxious because Helena kept pushing to follow her, even though she would only watch. Helena had never done this before, and it felt strange.
Natty tries to remember all the things that happened all day, and she s realizing there are so many things Helena does that she doesn't usually do. Things get awkward when someone does something different. And Natty felt she couldn't take this for granted. So Natty takes Helena to the toilet to talk.
“Tell me, why are you acting weird like this?” asked Natty.
“No, I'm not. What do you mean I'm doing weird?” replied Helena, who asked again.
“Yeah, you never want to stick around for me to practice basketball. You hate to wait so much. All-day, you're weird, like you're watching me or something.” Natty said.
“Haha, no. Maybe it's just your mind, or maybe I'll just be a better friend. Come on, let's go to the basketball court.” Said Helena was trying to change the topic.
Helena decides to pull Natty onto the basketball court. She's terrified that she's going to get lost and say what she knows. Helena is fearful that their relationship will change. But even Helena tries to shift the topic and lie. She's not good at lying. Natty can see from her eyes that something is being hidden by Helena., no one has changed for no reason.
Natty joined her team, warming up before practice began. Then ran around the field for 10 rounds, only then did they do a match practice after dividing the team. Natty is so busy with her workouts she notices nothing other than focusing on exercise.
Meanwhile, Helena sits courtside watching Natty in rehearsals. And now and then she tries to look around her to make sure there's no Gale. Helena overreacts and becomes too protective of Natty. Under the pretext of keeping Natty away from Gale's destructive influence, she went to great lengths to make sure Natty was always on her radar and tried to downplay the possibility Natty would meet with Gale.
She thinks of it as the attention of a friend, but all the exaggerated things never end well. Even if it has the slightest goodwill. Natty was catching her breathing and trying to adjust her sigh after the first half was over. She peeks at Natty from the tip of her eye, and she sees Helena's anxious-looking face as she flips through around.
“Huh, she’s acting weirder. Actually, why is she suddenly behaving like that?” murmurs Natty.
Natty sighed deep. Then he saw Gale standing alone at the end of a room where no one else was there. Gale waved her arms while sheltering against the wall. Natty smiled broadly, glanced left and right, and saw Helena. When she was convinced Helena wasn’t watching her she ran straight for Gale.
They can’t hug or kiss, even if it’s just a brief kiss. So, they held hands and stuck fingers at each other. Natty was pleased when Gale gave her a bottle of mineral water to relieve her thirst. Then Gale pulled out a handkerchief and wiped sweat on Natty’s forehead and neck.
