Chapter 77: court case

“I'm slightly dizzy,”she grumbled as she held her head.

“ I'm glad about it, I hope this teaches you a lesson. Look at her, you are such a risk taker. What if I came late and he also had his way with you?” Jason asked.

“ he won't, I wasn't feeling that dizzy I was only pretending to be weak ” she said confidently.

“ just forget it you would never agree that you are in the wrong ” he said and got down from the car,he turned to the passenger seat and opened the door and pulled her out.

“ Wait, what are you putting on?” he said as he stared at her dress.

“ What's wrong with it? ” she asked as she hugged him.

“ This cloth is made of just little fabric, the front is too revealing and it could barely cover your thighs. What are you turning into?”he said as he glared at her and pulled her from his chest.

She could tell he was angry “ stay still, I'm a little dizzy, I'm sorry I will never put it on ever again, Emily bought it for me, you know I can  never buy something like this ” she said.

“ Just go into the house, ” Jason said as he looked away from her.

“ I'm sorry don't be mad at me, I won't do it again. Just look at me ” she said as she placed her hands on his cheeks.

She kissed his lips gently “ I love you okay? I just couldn't be away from you for too long.I missed you so much” she said.

His heart became soft and decided to think things through from her own point of view “ I'm sorry that we had to be apart from each other. I shouldn't have '' Jason apologise.

“ It's alright,” she said and hugged him again.

“ Let's go into the house together, ” she urged and pulled him in.

“ Everyone is probably asleep, that's good ” she said softly and he pinched her cheeks.

They got to her room and she went to take a shower. Jason sat on the bed as he looked around her room.

Just then his cell phone began to ring “ hey, any news? '' Jason asked.

“ yes sir, I just overheard  one of Caleb's subordinate saying they are going to change the kid's hideout at midnight” a man's voice was heard on the line.

“ I guess you know what to do next, ” he said as his expression turned serious.

“ yes sir ” the man said and Jason hung up.

Isabella came out in her nightdress. “ Who are you talking to?” she asked.

“ oh come sit cupcake ”he said as he patted the spot next to him.

She sat down obediently. “ Look, our cover has been bursted, I think Caleb has found out that we were only pretending,” Jason said with a sigh.

“ it's all my fault I'm so sorry for being selfish ” she said sadly as she bit on her lip.

“ don't blame yourself for it, I should have come up with something else other than asking us to stop being in contact ” Jason said as he cupped her cheeks and placed a kiss on her forehead.

“ The plan has changed. I will call to inform Chantal. I just got a call from my subordinate that Caleb will be changing the kid's hideout at midnight. Jason said and Isabella became worried.

“What do we do now?” she asked, still feeling extremely guilty.

“ don't worry they will bring him back, you don't have to bother. I promise you ” Jason said.

“ Now go to sleep, ” he said and she nodded.

“ Are you going to leave?” she asked in a pitiful tone.

“ no no I'm here. I won't go anywhere” Jason said and she laid down while he switched off the light.

The following morning Isabella's eyes flew open and she used her hand to touch the space next to hers but there was no sign of Jason. A deep line appeared on her forehead as she slowly sat up.

“ Jason!,Jason! ” she said in an audible tone.

“ What is it cupcake, can't you do without prince charming for a little while ” Jason said as he walked back into the bedroom from the balcony.

Isabella smiled “ you are still in the mood to crack jokes huh ” she said.

“ I'm not kidding, you look so beautiful  this morning my sweet sunshine ” Jason said.

Isabella laughed “ you are teasing me aren't you? She said as she glanced at her messy hair from the mirror.

” Now you, Gerrit,“ he said and she jumped on top of him.

” How dare you?? Do you mean I'm not pretty huh? “ she said as she strangled him playfully.

Jason chuckled and flipped her over. ” there's nothing in this world that looks as alluring as you are. I have been staring at this pretty face since I was a kid and I want to continue  staring at it till eternity “ he said as they both locked eyes.

Isabella blushed as she pushed him off her.

” Are you trying to do something? Why are you being so sweet this morning “ she said shyly.

Just then he got a call from his subordinate he picked up and went over to the balcony.

He came back shortly, ”the kid has been rescued successfully and is currently with my men “ Jason announced.

” That's good news, “ Isabella smiled.

” Yeah, erm, I filed a case against Caleb. I'm sure he must have gotten the message from the court by now, “ Jason said.

She lowered her head and Jason couldn't tell what she was thinking about.

” You don't like the idea??“ he asked.

” no,no, it's not that I just feel bad for Emily “she said.

Later that day, At globex

” What brings you here? “ Emily said as she opened the door.

” Can we come in first?“ Isabella asked.

”we?“ Emily muttered.

Just then Jason walked over to them. She made way and they both came into the living room.

” What's going on Bella, why do you look so tense? “ Emily asked as she stared at the both of them with a puzzled look.

” Look Emily, you have to sit down first,I don't know how you are going to react to what I'm about to say, “ she said in a calm tone.

” Okay “ Emily said softly as she took a seat, and her eyes remained fixated on them.

Suddenly her mind drifted to Alexander ”did he tell them both about my diary?“she thought to herself.

” It's about Caleb, “ Isabella said and Emily heaved a sigh of relief.

” Your brother molested Chantal and he held her younger brother captive for over a month and we filed a case about it. I can't keep mute because of old times sake “ Isabella said.

Emily could only stare at them, she didn't know what to say ” who is Chantal?“ she asked.

” She's Jason's classmate, your brother kidnapped her younger brother and sent her to New York to try to tear Jason and I apart. We just found out the whole truth recently. I'm sorry Emily I can't support his bad doings''

Emily bowed her head for a while ”look Bella, you don't have to apologise to me I'm glad you are standing for what is right “ she said with a faint smile.

” I'm elated you don't see me as a bad person. I was wondering if you have anything useful that could help us get an upper hand in the case “ Isabella asked nervously.

” Isabella all I have to say is that my brother is crazy for you,I mean he's very obsessed with you. Ever since he came to New York his mission was to get you back from Jason no matter the cost. His infact ready to go to any length to win you back “

” Emily, can you testify in court in our own favour?? As his sister once the judge heard everything from you there will be higher chances of winning “ Isabella said.

Emily shook her head immediately ” how can I testify against my own brother in court?my parents will probably disown me once they find out.“ she said as she stood up.

” No one is pressuring you to do it, we will take our leave now, '' Jason said as he pulled Bella up.

They head towards the door and Isabella pauses in her tracks. She turned around to Emily ” in case you change your mind and you decide to stand up for the truth, the court case is by 1 “ she said and walked off.

Emily stared at the path she took for a while before going into the bedroom.

She sighs loudly as she holds her head in confusion
