Chapter 69: you want to put the blame now huh?

The following day early in the  morning before the sun could even rise. Isabella was already prepared to go to the hospital.

She came downstairs and she unexpectedly met her Aunty in the kitchen having some water.

” Bella, where are you going so early? “ she asked.

Isabella froze; she just remembered that she hadn't told her aunt anything that was going on. ” I..I want to go out for a walk “ she stuttered.

” isn't it too early? It is only 5am now “ she said as her gaze averted to the wall clock.

” yes I felt like it will be fun this way “ she lied while itching her head.

” er…. In this pretty dress? Whatever alright “ Maria looked at her with a weird look.

She walked out of the house and luckily she saw a taxi coming. She quickly  flagged the taxi and got in.

” Spring Grove Hospital“ she said and the driver nodded.

She came into the hospital and walked straight over to his ward. She saw Alexander and Chris who looked a bit surprised to see her.

” Bella, what are you doing here so early? “ Alexander asked.

” I couldn't stop thinking I wanted to know how Jason is doing, “ she said while clutching her bag.

At that moment she saw Zoey walking over while speaking on her phone.

” I never expected Emma to do something so outrageous. How could she fire the gun at my brother.“ Zoey said.

” I didn't know anything about Emma's plan. I guess she carried it out on her own. How is your brother doing now “ Ava asked.

” he is still not responding to the treatment. I mean Emma shouldn't have messed with my family. She could have done whatever shit she wanted to do with that bitch “ she said.

Chris tapped her shoulders and immediately she turned around he grabbed her phone and threw it away angrily.

Zoey gasped from shock and raised her head to meet his angry gaze.

” Like really? What are you trying to say huh? I wondered where the Harrison's got a shameless and heartless daughter like you “ he yelled at her.

Zoey crossed her arm over her chest “ like seriously am the heartless one now. Moreover what did I say wrong if Isabella wasn't negligent she wouldn't have fallen victim to Emma's trap and my silly brother wouldn't have gone over to search for her and he would have been fine ” she said in one  breath.

“ You want to put the blame now huh? "They suddenly heard Chloe's voice from behind.

They all turned around in unison.

Chloe smirked smuggling “ if your brother didn't get drunk till he ended up in this state do you think isabella would have ran out of home neglecting her thoughts just like that and fall victim to Emma's plan and that's because she loves your brother so much but how would a cold-hearted person like you understand relationships ” she said.

“ Hey you better watch your tongue Chloe” Zoey said unceremoniously.

Chloe chuckled “ what will you do if I don't ” she asked.

“ You wanna know ”Zoey said moving closer to chloe.

“ Will you all just stop this nonsense? ” Isabella yelled as she held her head. She was here thinking about Jason and they were here thinking  about exchanging punches.

“ oh Please stop acting like you care, I am sure you are just praying for my brother's death so you could run to the arms of your lover that Liam guy ” Zoey said nonchalantly.

Isabella couldn't tolerate her attitude any longer; she abruptly raised her hand and gave Zoey a heavy slap on the face. “ smack! don't you ever dare question the love I have for your brother. Do you think everyone is as shameless as you are?” Isabella said, pointing her finger at her.

“ You have been saying a lot all this while but I chose to ignore it but if you ever dare to question what I share with your brother  ever again. I promise to make you suffer '' Isabella said viciously.

Zoey's expression changed completely. She didn't see this coming and she had never seen Isabella get this angry before  she wisely remained silent.

Chloe was very pleased with isabella. This was the cousin she knew, not that soft and naive Isabella.

Soon the doctor's that were invited from the other hospital outside of Newyork arrived and they began the surgery for the second time.

Everywhere suddenly became quiet as they all sat down patiently waiting for the doctor's feedback except for Isabella who kept pacing around the whole place the whole time.

Mrs Harrison came over with her eyes stained with tears. “ baby!” She called out to Bella.

Isabella rushed over and gave her a hug “ aunty Jason...”  she said as her voice began to choke up.

“ Child Jason's strong, he's going to be fine, ” she said, patting her back.

Zoey wanted to say something her lips parted slightly before she recalled the words Isabella said to her a while ago. She wisely bowed her head keeping her words to herself.

Alexander didn't have a choice but to inform Jason's family about his injury as it wasn't right to keep something that important to themselves. He was glad that they didn't react negatively about it when he broke the news.

Mrs Harrison's cloth was already moist from Isabella's tears. She raised her head when she heard that  the operating theatre lights had turned off.

Everyone rushed over to the doctor instantly.

“ How is he doing? ” Isabella asked quickly.

The doctor smiled as he dabbed the sweat from his forehead “ the operation was successful ” he announced.

Isabella held her chest as she heaved a sigh of relief so did everyone.

The patient will be moved to the VIP ward. He needs some rest and he will come around on his own, “ he said and walked away.

A smile appeared on Isabella's face. She turned to Chloe” let's go get him something to eat and am also hungry “ she said happily.

Chloe smiled along and pulled her ears ” oh so your appetite has been restored huh? “ she said teasingly.

” I never knew Jason was your appetite “ she added and they laughed.

After getting the food they came back to the hospital and everyone waited for him to wake up.

The nurse that was assigned to watch over him emerges from the ward. ” The patient is up but you guys can only see  him once at a time. He demanded for Bella “ she announced and walked away.

” What an asshole, he has forgotten his mother so soon. Go ahead dear “ Mrs Harrison said with a smile.

Isabella quickly pushed the door open. Immediately she saw him,her tears that she had been holding back started falling again.

She walked over to the bed and sat next to him. ”Jason!“ she called out softly.

Jason gave her a weak smile and he held her hands in his. ” cupcake! It's good to see you again “

Isabella suddenly shut his lips with a gentle kiss ” I'm not angry with you . I'm sorry for overreacting. I should have let you explain I was just being jealous and unreasonable“  she admitted while pouting her lip.

Jason pinched her cheeks ” aren't you ashamed that you admitted the fact that you were jealous “he asked.

” Why should I be? You belong to me and I'm not willing to share you with anyone “ she said sternly.

Jason frowned a little they were just apart for some days and she had become so shameless he thought. She hardly says things like this or even says love words.

” Why are you looking at me like that? “ she asked, placing her palm on her chin.

” You look so beautiful today, “ he said as his  gaze travelled back to her dress.

Isabella blushed slightly of course she had to look her best for him.

” I wore it for you okay “ she said sheepishly while bowing her head to avoid his gaze.

Mrs Harrison barged in ” son since you didn't bother to ask about your mother I still had to come see your face “ she said as she walked over to him.

” Did you bring me something to eat? “ he asked Isabella.

” sure. I will go get it “ she said and left leaving the mother and son.

” Son, you made me scared. How could you act so reckless? I have warned you to quit drinking and how could you go and save Isabella in that state. Do you think you are some kind of hero?  you don't listen I think I will ask Isabella to keep an eye on you “ She said.

” I'm fine Mom, you know how strong I am. It's just a minor injury it will heal with time “ he said as his gaze travelled to his injured arm.

” You call this a minor injury, you are so unbelievable, '' Mrs Harrison said while shaking her head.

” well… I will leave you to rest. I will go ask the doctor when you will be discharged “ she said and left the room.

Chris and Alexander came in ” dude I thought you were gonna die. I couldn't even sleep “ Alexander said while pretending to be crying.

Chris slapped him on the shoulder ” you !bro you were sleeping like dead meat  “he said.

Jason shook his head ” do you think I will believe anything that comes out from that mouth of his “ he said.

Isabella suddenly came in with a flask ” Hey guys, what are you talking about hope am not intruding “ she asked with a sweet smile.

” It's nothing important, “ Jason said.

” Bella, look over here, “ Alexander suddenly said.

Isabella turned to his direction as she watched him scrutinise her face.

” what? “ she asked with a puzzled look.

He nodded his head in realisation. ” It's good to have you back, Bella, “ he said.

She immediately understood, Isabella pursed her lip ” are you done “ she rolled her eyes at him.

Her gaze went back to jason. She slowly walked over to the bed.

” Here is your food “ she placed it on the table.

” Okay I will leave you guys to talk “ she said as she turned around to leave.

Jason grabbed her wrist ” how do you expect me to eat all by myself “ he asked.

Isabella raised her brows giving him a surprise look ” you injured your left hand not your right and besides if you badly need someone to feed you I can give Chantal a call “ she said with a smile.
