Chapter 49: there's nothing left for us to talk about

Isabella saw Jason's message, she was replying while walking she mistakenly bumped into someone and her phone dropped to the ground.

She quickly picked it up but realised that it refused to turn on “ oh no! ” Isabella said with a sad face.

She raised her head to see who she had bumped into to her surprise it was Caleb. “you!'' Isabella became angry instantly.

She was about to walk away but Caleb grabbed her arm “ Isabella am really sorry for what I did ” Caleb pleaded with her.

“ Caleb if you don't let go of me this instance. I will scream ” Isabella threatened him.

Caleb finally released her arm “ alright alright. Let's go talk over there ” he said pointing to a direction.

“ There's nothing left for us to talk about,” Isabella said with her arm cross over her chest.

“ Come on Bella ” he suddenly pulled her into a tight hug placing his hands around her waist.

Isabella was burning with rage, “ Caleb let me go” Isabella tried pushing him.

Jason suddenly appeared behind Caleb “ Bella!” he called out when he saw these two from afar he couldn't believe his eyes. He felt like something was digging a hole in his heart and he suddenly felt empty.

Isabella was so shocked that she didn't know what she was doing. Caleb disengaged from the hug and turned around to meet Jason's Icy glare.

Caleb lips curved into a smirk. Yeah that's what he wanted he had seen Jason coming before pulling Isabella to a tight hug making it seem like they were intimate.

Alexander who was standing next to Jason was also angry with Caleb's action. How could he do something like that?

Jason marched over and pulled Bella away from Caleb before dragging her away. Isabella didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

He didn't say a word, he just kept pulling her along.

Isabella bit on her lower lip “ Jason are you angry with me?” immediately she said she regretted it.

Jason suddenly stopped and he looked at her “ you will know when we get home ” he said and kept pulling her.

Alexander quickly helped Isabella speak “ Jason, Caleb did that on purpose don't get angry with Isabella '' he said.

“ dude just stay out of this ” Jason said as he rubbed the areas between his brows.

Alexander watched till their backs disappeared from his sight. He sighs loudly “ Emily is so sweet, how did she end up with this kind of brother ” he thought to himself.

On their way to Jason's car, Chantal suddenly passed by with her friend Ivy.

Jason didn't notice her but she kept staring at him and the lady beside him. Which was the girl she saw at the cafeteria the other day.

Ivy nudged at her “ don't tell me you are crushing on Jason Harrison ”said Ivy.

Chantal pressed her lips together “ he was the one who helped me the other time. ” she said.

Ivy was astonished “ whoa know way. Jason Harrison even looked at you ” she scoffed.

Chantal panicked “ what do you mean? Am saying the truth. Look, he's the one I have been looking for. I want to return his jacket back to him ” she said as her gaze returned to the bag she was holding.

Ivy was so shocked that her jaw dropped “ you mean Jason Harrison was the one, you have been talking about. Wow my bestie that's great news maybe you might stand a chance to date him ” said ivy.

Chantal shook her head in disapproval “ I don't think I stand a chance we are from different worlds. Look at the lady standing next to him, she's his fiancee. Probably soon you will hear about his marriage to her ” said Chantal.

“ you must be joking right? I heard that he was only forced to get engaged to Isabella Andrew. They are not even inlove you can easily manoeuvre your way into Jason's life as long as he falls in love with you and you have his full support. You will leave a life filled with luxury. Ivy said as her eyes glimmered.

Chantal shook her head again ” you don't get it. The Harrison's will never accept someone like me. I heard that they are the richest in New York. How can I stand a chance with him? Only the daughter of the Andrew's could match his status.“ she said as she played with her fingers.

Ivy pursed her lip ” girl, believe in yourself you are so young and pretty and your figure is so amazing, I mean no guy can resist you am sure you just have to seduce him  a little. And you are talking about social status haven't you heard the story about Cinderella and how she became a princess  overnight and she lived happily ever after with her prince charming. I heard his mother dotes on him so much once he's by your side you will easily get into his family “ ivy said.

Chantal confidence was instantly boosted back ” you are right ivy. I have what it takes to be his girlfriend.“ said Chantal.

Ivy nodded her head “ when you get in, don't forget about me your dear bestie. Now go over there and give him his jacket. If he says you can keep it. It means he also likes you ” ivy analysed.

Chantal took in a deep breath before walking over to Jason's direction.

» Back to  Jason and Isabella «

Isabella and Jason had been standing behind the car for long but he wasn't saying anything.

“ Jason, please say something” Isabella said softly.

“ What do you want me to say?” he said as he glanced at her through the corners of his eye.

“ Let's go home, I'm exhausted and I'm starving, ” Isabella complained.

Just then Chantal walked over to them. “ hey, erm Jason please can I speak to you for a sec ” Chantal asked

Isabella tried really hard to conceal her anger “ some girls don't even know how to behave ” she thought inwardly.

Jason walked over to Chantal “ what's up? ” he asked.

Chantal looked at his handsome face and he was putting on sunglasses making him look hotter and she almost drooled. Her heart started racing again and she swallowed nervously “ I… I just wanted to return your jacket ” Chantal stuttered.

“ oh yeah, you can just …… ” Jason's words were cut short.

“oh thanks ” Isabella grabbed the bag from her while maintaining a smile.

She tugged on Jason's arm hardly  “ Am starving let's go home ” Isabella said.

Chantal looked at them and she felt her heart was hit by a truck. With a sad expression she walked back to ivy who was standing a mile away.

Jason threw his car keys on the coffee table. Isabella used the opportunity to escape before she could get to the stairs. She heard Jason's voice “ Isabella are you perhaps guilty?“ He asked.

Isabella turned around slowly ” guilty of what? She said playing dumb.

“ It's okay if you don't want to speak about it,” Jason said.

Isabella walked over to him and pulled him to sit, she sat beside him “ I am sorry for ignoring your message. I was busy at the library. I was about to return your message but I mistakenly bumped into Caleb and my phone fell and we started quarrelling and he suddenly pulled…..” Isabella couldn't finish her words.

Jason slammed his lips on hers after some seconds he broke it “ Isabella you don't need to tell me anything because I believe you. Ever since the incident with Emma.I told myself that I will always trust you. I don't even have the right to question you, we are just friends but to the outside world we are a couple. I want to make everything clear to you right now and here.

He held her hands as his gaze turned very gentle as the moon. ” I love you Isabella Khalani Andrew will you be mine forever? “ he said, fixing his gaze at her trying to read every of her expression.

Isabella could swear that she thought her heart was about to pop out. She felt butterflies in her tummy. ” Huh? “ was the only thing she could utter.

” How is this possible? My ear must be playing tricks on me right? Is he kidding? “ a lot was going through her head she could only stare at him with those beautiful eyes of hers like he was a ghost.
