Chapter 42: should I host a welcoming party for them?

It was already time for dinner, as they all sat down  at the dining table. Isabella glanced around and she couldn't help but ask “ where is uncle? ”

“ oh he went for a business trip so he's out of town” Mrs Harrison said.

Soon enough Zoey came downstairs already in her pajamas  she was busy chewing and blowing on her gum noisily. She was so fixated on her phone that she didn't bother to look at anyone. She walked to the dining table and sat next to her mother.

Mrs Harrison tapped her shoulders “ Zoey can't you see your brother and Isabella are here? ” she asked.

Zoey took off her headphone and turned to her mother “ and so? What should I do? Should I host a welcoming party for them ” she said in a rude manner.

Mrs Harrison was already enraged she had always wished for a sweet and gentle daughter like Bella but she got the opposite. “Where are your manners? How could you speak about your elder brother like that? ” Mrs Harrison said.

Zoey remained silent. Mrs Harrison wasn't aware of anything going on presently. She didn't even know that Emma was in jail.

Zoey knew that once her mom finds out about all the despicable stuff Emma had done especially to Isabella, her mom will surely ask her to break ties with Emma.

After the incident, Zoey called Jason uncountable number of times but he didn't return any of her calls. She even sent him a lot of messages pleading for him to let Emma go. But yet he didn't do anything. She felt like Isabella was more precious to him than she can ever be.

Jason couldn't be bothered with her nonsense. They all ate dinner together.

After dinner, Isabella summoned the maid “ where did you keep my luggage” she asked.

“ oh madam asked me to keep it in the young master's bedroom ” the maid bowed and left.

Isabella froze; she could hardly maintain the smile on her face. Mrs Harrison acted like she didn't see her facial expression. She was certain that these two were fighting.

“ Yes baby, I was the one who asked her to keep it in Jason's room. You two are supposed to share a room. You are a couple now and you live together so what is there to be shy about? Good night baby ” Mrs Harrison said as she went upstairs.

Isabella stood there for a while like a statue. She was still trying to process everything Mrs Harrison said to her. Jason walked over to her, snapping her out of her thoughts “ I have something important that I have to attend to. Don't wait for me,make sure you go to Bed early ” Jason said.

Isabella sneered “ who is going to wait for you? You think too highly of yourself.” she hissed and went upstairs.

Back in the room she threw herself on Jason's bed. Her thoughts couldn't help but run wild. “wait, I hope he isn't going out to see that Chantal girl? But he said She's not his girlfriend but I can't trust Jason he's such a liar”

Isabella smacked her forehead “ oh no Bella. Why are you thinking so much?” she said to herself.

She decided to give a call to Chloe. “ hey

I think you have moved on without me, ” Isabella said.

Chloe chuckled “ how could I move on without my sweet cousin. I miss you so much Belle but I don't want to disturb you and my dear brother in-law ” said chloe.

Isabella pursed her lip “ Chloe when did you become so naughty. And please don't mention that bastard name here ” Isabella said.

Chloe already knew from her tone that they were fighting again “ come on what's the problem again this time. Aren't you two tired of fighting? ” said Chloe.

Isabella told Chloe everything that happened.

Chloe couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Isabella rolled her eyes “ are you done?” she said.

“ Oh yeah. Isabella, you are so funny. You are just jealous, that's all. Why don't you tell Jason about your feelings? I think it's high time  you stop acting like a coward. Moreover, I am not sure Jason could begin a new relationship with a stranger in such a short span. In my own opinion of Jason he's not the type that catches feelings for someone easily. Am certain he's not in a relationship and if he has feelings for anybody then it must surely be you ” Chloe said.

Isabella scoff loudly “ these are just your own thoughts. Jason is nothing but a player and if he does love me as you said then why didn't he confess his feelings for me, " said Isabella.

The corners of Chloe's lip twitched slightly Chloe wondered how low Isabella's EQ is “ look Bella maybe his also scared of confessing his feelings for you as he may not know how you will react to the news or he might not even know that he's in love with you yet ” said Chloe.

“ Oh great then,I can't take any chances, I will just keep my feelings to myself, ” Isabella said.

Chloe sighs loudly “ look Bella not everyone is opportune to spend the rest of their life with the one they truly love and you have this opportunity don't let it slip away cause there will be a time when you might regret your decisions. ” Chloe said with a heavy heart.

Chloe was not just advising Isabella, she was indirectly talking about herself. Her and Chris were both in love with each other but their chances of being together is very slim.

“ Thanks Chloe, you are right. I think it is high time I opened up to him about my feelings. No matter the outcome I will still be happy that I got to tell him that I love him ” isabella said.

“ well……..good night, ” Chloe said and hung up.

Isabella placed her phone on the bedside table. She went into the bathroom to freshen before putting on her pyjamas. She lay down on the bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.

At The Jackson's Villa

Jason arrived at Emma's house,immediately he came in and Mr Jackson stood up like his saviour had arrived.

“ son please come in.” Mr Jackson gestured for him to sit.

Jason glanced at Emma's mom; she looked like someone who lost a close relative. He didn't know if it was just his imagination; he felt like Emma's mom looked older than the last time they met. They were dark circles and wrinkles on her face.

He suddenly felt a little sorry for Emma's parents. Their only child was nothing but a filthy and despicable person who landed herself in  jail.

Jason didn't wanna stay for too long, it was already getting very late “ so what did you call me for?” Jason went straight to the point.

Mr Jackson let out a bitter laugh “ son, as Emma's Dad am very embarrassed to hear about all the despicable stuffs she had done. I would like to see Ms. Andrew  apologises personally to her. But son please for the sake of I and her mother please just pardon her. She's our only child once she's released from jail I will make sure she stays away from you and your fiance ”Mr Jackson pleaded with him.

Jason knew that this was the reason Mr Jackson called him over to his place. On his way here he had been thinking about what to decide on when this matter was brought up.

Mr Jackson panicked when he noticed that Jason wasn't saying anything. “ son, look I promise to send Emma abroad to study so you won't have to see her face again ” he quickly added.

Jason nodded “ I will go over to the station on Monday to withdraw my complaint. '' he finally compromised with Mr Jackson.

Mr Jackson felt like he's over the moon “thank you so much, son. ” he said as he gestured to his maid.

“ Please get him something to drink, ” Mr Jackson said.

Jason quickly interjected “ it's alright, it's already so late I will be taking my leave now ” he said as he rose to his feet.

Back on his way home, he didn't feel too good. He felt like he should have asked for Isabella's consent first after all she was the one that Emma schemed against. “ I don't think there's anything to worry about. Isabella is mature and I'm sure she will understand ” Jason thought to himself.

It was already 11pm when Jason arrived home. He came into the living room like he had thought everyone had gone to bed.

He gently opened the door to his room; he didn't want to disturb Isabella's sleep. The light of the room was switched off. Only the bedside lamp was on which was also dimmed.

He walked over to the bed and watched her innocent face as she was already fast asleep. She looked so loving at this moment. He felt like watching her sleep till dawn. He placed a light kiss on her forehead.

He sighed loudly and grabbed a pillow. He placed it on the sofa  and lay there.

Soon enough it was dawn again. Isabella turned around in her sleep and suddenly opened her eyes  as she rubbed them groggily.

She turned around thinking that Jason was lying beside her but to the greatest surprise he was lying on the couch.

She felt a wave of anger surged up in her heart.“ Did he dislike her so much to the extent that he couldn't share a bed with her? “
