Mr Anthony cleared his throat " I can see youngsters nowadays aren't ashamed to kiss in front of their elders " he said in a burly voice and Mrs Anthony shook her head.

Alexander bowed his head awkwardly and Emily laughed at his cute expression, it was quite obvious she was having fun taunting him this way.

" Come take a kiss " she whispered in his ear and he shook his head. She burst into laughter, it was really fun teasing him this way.

" Dear, you should listen to the doctor, stop taking cold stuff because it might endanger the baby's life, '' Mrs Anthony said gently.

Emily smiled,her mother had never been this caring towards her. She somewhat felt like it was a different person talking to her.

" Son, we will take our leave now it's quite late, the doctor said Millie will be discharged tomorrow, we will be leaving now and oh tell your parents we would love to meet them soon while we are in town" Mr Anthony said.

" Yes dad, I'll inform them immediately " he said and they nodded at him before leaving.

Isabella and Jason came into the room" I guess we are no longer needed, we will also get going " Jason said.

" Bella, Jason, thank you so much, " Emily said sincerely.

" It's okay Millie you should also thank Stacey, she's the one who told Alex about your whereabouts " Isabella said.

" Really? She did that? " She asked Alexander surprisingly.

He nodded " yeah, it's all thanks to Stacey we found you " he said as he pressed his lips together.

The next morning, Emily was discharged from the hospital and Alexander decided to bring her to the Miles Residence." Why is it dark here? " Emily muttered fearfully as they walked into the living room.

" I don't know, don't be scared Superman is here " he said and Emily laughed before she could reply to him the lights came on.

" Happy birthday Alex and Emily " everyone screamed in unison.

Alexander frowned and turned to Emily" Is it your birthday?" They both asked each other in unison.

" Yes it's my birthday " they chorused again and everyone laughed.

Their cheeks turned slightly red in embarrassment, Emily quickly concealed it as she looked around the living room " wow it's really beautiful here " she smiled sweetly.

" We decided to throw you both a surprise party, " Nancy grinned at them.

" Thank you everyone, for wishing me and my love a happy birthday, " Alex said casually.

Chloe rolled her eyes at him " You didn't even know it was her birthday " she said unceremoniously.

Emily spotted her parents and she went over to them with a smile " happy 20th birthday princess " Mr and Mrs Anthony said and she hugged them.

" Shhh! don't tell everyone my age " she said jokingly as she broke the hug.

" You didn't get me a gift right? " She said sadly.

" says who? I got you this when I heard it was both of your birthday " they both presented different gifts.

" I love you both so much, I'll check them later, " she smiled sweetly and sent the maid to take it to her room.

Mr and Mrs Anthony, went to meet up with Alexander's parents and within a blink of an eye the middle aged couples got along as they all converse and laughed happily.

Alexander wrapped his arms around Emily's waist and they watched their parents from a distance " just look how they are getting along " Emily said.

" I'm happy to see you smile genuinely, Millie, you should smile more often, you look really beautiful even when pregnant " he said and she raised her head from his chest and pecked his lips.

" Let's go to our room " she whispered into his ear and pulled him along.

Back in the room, they walked past the mirror and Alexander gripped her hand frighteningly. " What's wrong? " She asked as she looked around the room vigilantly.

" I saw a shadow of a chubby woman just now, " he said with a poker face.

" But no one is here except us. Wait a minute, are you referring to me? " she asked with bulging eyes.

Alexander laughed and took her to the mirror, just look how chubby you have gotten.

Emily pushed him away " Alex, how can you tell a girl she's chubby, don't you know it's an offence. Yes you got me pregnant and I'm carrying your son and you dare call me fat " she said as tears came out of her eyes.

Alexander stared at her with a stupefied expression " I'm so sorry Millie, please don't cry I can't take it when you cry because of me. I'm only kidding, you look so sexy in any shape. In fact I love you like this, you have gotten thicker and it's more sweeter to touch, even your cup size increased " he said mischievously and she blushed crimson.

" Must you say nonsense all the time, from now on if you want to kiss me you have to do it in front of my dad or else forget about it " she said as she crossed her arm over her chest.

" Millie, how can you be so cruel? my dear wifey, you know your father might skin me alive " he said in a pitiful tone.

Emily laughed that serves you right " how can you tell a girl she's fat, it's offensive I have to punish you or else you might say something worse tomorrow " she said matter of fact.

" A 20 year old woman, not a girl, " he said mockingly.

She shut his mouth with a kiss " how did you find out my age?, were you eavesdropping on my conversation with my parents? " She asked with her brows cocked up slightly.

" Maybe, I'm still amazed, I thought you were 18 all this time " he gave her a sinister smirk.

" Oh now that you are aware I'm not, won't you get married to me anymore um? " She pulled him closer by his shirt.

Alexander held her waist " it makes me want you even more than ever, I'm craving for you wifey " he stroked her cheeks tenderly.

Emily kisses his lips ravishingly, he tried to gain more access into her mouth but she withdrew from the kiss " When I'm with you I feel safe and secured " she said softly against his lips.

She brushed her lips against his again and before he could take control she pulled away and laughed. " Come on, I'm curious to know what my parents got us, " she said as she picked up the gift.

" Let me check mom's first " she opened it up and a blush crept on her face.

" Oh a box of condoms, mom is so thoughtful " Alexander said nonchalantly.

" Aren't you shameless? You can have them " She hit him on the chest with the box. " Bring it I'll keep it safe, afterall i'm going to use them on you " he winked at her and she had the urge to beat him to death.

She opened Mr Anthony's gift with great expectations" Wow dad got us tickets to California " she frowned and threw them on the bed.

Alexander burst into laughter " dad is really a sly man, he wants you to come home they must have missed you really badly " he said.

" Yeah, I think I now have realised where I got my stubbornness from, you know it was quite embarrassing that we didn't know each other's birthdays' ' Emily itched her scalp awkwardly.

" Right, it was really embarrassing, I totally forgot it was my birthday, " Alexander said.

Emily nodded " me too, so what now," she said.

" I just want to cuddle you in my arms, do we really need to go back down,? " Alexander said.

" Do you remember it's our birthday? How does it sounds If the both of us aren't there? " she asked.

" But it's been months since you let me touch you " he said into her ear.

Emily felt chills run down her spine " Alex don't you see my condition, I'm pregnant " she said in a helpless tone.

" I know that, the last time I went to the hospital with you, I discussed with the doctor and she said sex it's good for both the mother and the baby because it's beneficial during delivery and I have to fulfil my responsibilities as a good husband and father or don't you think so?" he said in a stern manner.

" Geez Alex, when did you become this thick-skinned? I won't let you come with me to the hospital ever again " she shook her head at him.

Just then she let out a loud yelp " are you alright? " He asked immediately as he held onto her.

She nodded and smiled at him " the baby just kicked " she placed his hand on her tummy and he could feel the baby's movement, he couldn't help but smile along.

" Alex I'm really starving, I haven't eaten anything yet " she pouted her lip.

" Millie you ate at the hospital just an hour ago, " Alexander kindly reminded her.

" Can't you see I'm eating for two? " Her eyeballs went round.

" Come let's get you something to eat, " he said as he took her back to the living room.

" You wait here, I'll go get what I want myself " she said as she strolled around the house, she passed by the restroom and she heard sounds coming there.

She placed her head on the door and she clearly heard sounds of someone throwing up, just then Isabella emerged and almost bunked into Emily.

" Bella come with me, " Emily pulled her to the balcony.

" I can't watch you keep up like this any longer, sneaking into the bathroom to puke, lying you are on your period, going to the hospital in secret. You need to end this, I know it's difficult for you but you have to tell Jason the truth, if he finds out from someone else that will hurt really deeper, you can't hide the baby for long unless you have decided to go for an abortion. But I know you well Bella, you will never kill an innocent life. To be honest when I first found out I was pregnant, I was really scared and nervous and didn't know what Alex is going to say, I thought if the worst come I'll just abort the baby and throw him out of my life as he had failed me but Alex is different he was the happiest after hearing the news he took really good care of me and as time went by i formed an unconditional bond with my baby and I'm so attached to him, the joy of being a mother is really beautiful Bella.
