Chapter 16: Chapter 16
LUNAR'S P.O.V
My heart is in my throat as I watch Nathan toss the jacket angrily to his passenger seat and drive away.
Oh no.
He's so pissed that I returned the jacket he might not even read it.
Shit, I went about this all wrong.
I should have handed it to him in person.
I should have told him it's in the pocket.
Now he might never read it....unless I call him.
I contemplate calling Nathan as my finger hovers above his name on my contact list but for some reason I can't call him.
What will I say?
Where will I start?
My indecisiveness has me at a loss and I forfeit as I get into my car and head for my dorm.
The room is empty when I get there and I'm busy counting my fingers and checking my phone every five minutes.
But there's still nothing from Nathan.
And he might never read it now.
I might have to face him.
I grab my car keys and leave the room, instantly heading for my car and then I drive off.

NATHAN'S P.O.V
Over and over I read Lunar's letter and it's almost hard to believe she wrote this.
To me.
I think back to her expression in class and the conversation we had.
'Take it...please.'
'I'm sorry--'
'Don't.'
All this while she didn't want me to just take the jacket but to take the letter in it.
I look at the last words again.
'Well, all I need is you. I miss you Nathaniel.'
And instantly I grab my keys and the jacket, but the minute I open the door, she is standing right there.
For a second she has her back to me, then she turns to me.
"Lunar--"
"Just let me talk, okay?" She says, her voice quivering as she holds her palms up.
"I just....I wrote a letter but then you wouldn't read it. You didn't open it and it was right in--"
"The jacket." I say softly and she looks at me, her fidgeting stops.
"I read it, Lu. Every word." I say and I reach for her but she backs away.
"What? No. N-no, that's not how this was supposed to go. I was supposed to explain myself to you." She rambles, and I can see clearly now what's going on.
She's frightened. Frightened that I might not react how she wanted or it's not going to turn out how she wanted.
She had it all planned out.
"I was going to write the letter and give you in the jacket and you would see it...and come talk to me. But you never came." She looks up at me now, tears in her eyes and I can't take this anymore.
"Lu...." I gently hold her hand and she tries to pry it away without success.
"No, let go off me." She protests but I pull her close to me.
"I was on my way to see you, just now." I say gently and she frowns at me, despite her tears.
"But why? Why would you want to see me still? I judged you and I let you go and I was so sure you wouldn't want me back."
"Why wouldn't I? I was the bad person here. I kept secrets from you. I'm the one that's doubting if you'd take me back." I say as I wrap my hands around her waist and she looks at me, confusion in her eyes.
"But I don't understand. I reacted so irrationally and I haven't explained why. I'm not ready for you to forgive me so easily. I was wrong, Nathan. I was so, so wrong and---"
"Lunar." I say softly as I wipe her tears and she stops her rambling to look at me.
"Did you ever forgive me for what I did?" I ask her gently and she smiles a bit.
"Yes, of course." She says.
"Then that's all that matters." I say before I lean down in an instant and gently kiss her, tasting and savoring the feel of her lips that I'd missed so much.
For a second she is still and I kiss her even slower, giving her a chance to pull away. But she sighs and I feel her body relax against mine as she returns the kiss even more passionately, sweeping her arms round my neck and pulling me even closer.
"I've missed you so much, Lunar." I whisper against her lips and she looks up at me.
"I've missed you more, Nathaniel." She says in that low, sultry voice of hers.
At that point I realize how much I've missed her, her sincerity and beauty and amazing personality.
I try to tell myself it doesn't get more than that, but I can't. I've missed her body and the feel of it next to mine....Or pressed up against me, like now.
Lunar's eyes are closed now and she returns her lips back to mine as I pick her up by her waist and carry her into the apartment, shutting the door with my foot.
It's hard to concentrate on carrying Lunar to the room with her kissing me like she needs more, but I successfully take her to the bedroom and on top the bed.
When I pull away from the kiss, her brown eyes are dark as coal.
"Remind me what it feels like to be loved by you, Nathan." She moans and returns her lips to mine.
Fuck.
I kiss her like I might lose again, like I need her now. Here. I return her kiss with the same passionate message....I can't get enough.
Within minutes we've pried each other's clothes off and Lunar's moans are driving me insane.
Every part of her sexy body I touched or kissed or nibbled resulted in a louder moan or a sexy plea....like playing instruments to a tune.
And soon enough, my mouth finds her spot between her legs, making her scream and moan and writh against my face.
Right before I enter her, and remind her what it feels like.

LUNARS P.O.V
I toy with Nathan's stubble that is growing on his chiseled chin, almost complimenting it even and I can't stop touching it.
He looked even more handsome with the growing stubble, coupled with his amazing physique, I couldn't comprehend how I'd stayed away for so long.
He takes my hand in his now and plays with my fingers, eyes on me.
"What are you thinking?" He asks in that deep voice of his, it's almost like a murmur.
"I'm thinking about how good you look." I say and he chuckles, the vibration spreading on his chest like electricity.
Here I was, snuggling close to the guy I can't seem to ever forget. In this position, it was hard to remember that I had survived 2 months without him.
When he took me in his arms, I knew I couldn't deny I missed him...missed being with him....missed my body responding to his. And here he had helped me remember.
"If I was a junk food, what do you think I'll be?" I ask and he smiles as he plays with my hair.
"That's easy. Pizza." He says simply and I can't help but laugh.
"Really? Why?" I ask and he shrugs.
"It's just like you. Every topping it can have is every mood you have, and at yet it still tastes pretty good just like you'll still be pretty amazing. In the end, it's simple, sweet and addictive. Just like you." He says and I can't stop the blush creeping to my cheeks.
"You're making me turn red." I say and he smiles.
"Good." He says and plants a kiss on my neck.
"You'd probably be a burger. Tempting, irresistible, everybody loves you...even vegans."
He chuckles.
"Made of amazing ingredients, always available on the menu for whoever needs you." I continue and he laughs now.
"This is getting interesting. Okay, if I were an animal. What would I be?" He asks.
"Easy. A lion. You're so gruff and in control and powerful, yet calm when you need to be. You hunt pretty good too because I'm sure I'm a sexy catch." I tease and he laughs as he rolls over to be on top.
"You did not just say that!" He jokes with his unending laughter and I nod proudly. Instantly he starts making growling noises as he bites playfully my neck and chin and I'm bursting with laughter at how much it tickles.
When it's over, I'm cuddled up next to him again and his finger traces my face.
"Will you come to dinner with me?" He asks in his low, deep voice that I can barely hear him.
"You don't have to ask, I'm already here with you. Unless we're going somewhere new?" I ask and he sighs as he moves away a bit, leaning on his elbow and looking down at me.
'That's the thing. It's at my brother's. You don't have to if you don't want to, I mean I know it's sudden. It's just, my brother and his wife and Emily, they've all been looking forward to seeing you and--"
"Nathan, of course I'll go." I say, cutting him short and his nervous look disappears.
"Really?" He asks and I nod as I lean up to kiss him.
"I have to find my ballgown and tiara though, and of course my glass slippers. I mean I'm having dinner with the Jacksons. I'm so glad my name is on the list." I tease and Nathan rolls his eyes as he smiles
"Ha ha. Funny." He says as he sits up and I sit up as well, putting my hands to work and massaging his impressive, muscular shoulders and back.
"Don't be so tense, it'll be great." I say to him and he chuckles, leaning back into my hands.
"I know. You're just very important to me and so are they. That's all." He says, looking up at me with an upside down view as he is leaned back completely and I smile.
"Yeah?" I ask, flattered by his words and he smiles.
"Yeah." He says and I kiss him on the lips.

"You're sure this dress doesn't make me look slutty?" I ask Nathan as he parks the car outside and he turns to me.
"Slutty enough for me." He teases and winks and I can't help but giggle.
"Babe, come on. I'm serious." I say defiantly and he pecks me.
"You look amazing. Don't worry. But I have to kiss you one last time before we go in." He says and his lips meet mine in an intense, passionate kiss.
With Nathan, kisses are not just kisses. They're moments when he tells me how good I look or how he feels about me or how badly he wants to get me out of my clothes.
And right now, I was getting all those messages from the kiss.
"You know, if you had prepared me beforehand on what you were going to wear, I wouldn't be so desperately needing to take it off. " He says after the kiss and we head to the door.
Nathan's brother lived in a quiet, neighbourhood called Sunset Valley, almost an hour's drive from his apartment.
"Are you okay?" He asks and I nod.
"Sure. Let's do this." I say and he rings the bell.
I can hear Emily scream.
"They're here!"
And then the sound of running feet, then the door opens.
"Hi Lunar, hi Uncle Nate." She says cheerfully and Nathan picks her up.
"Hey Tinkerbell." He teases as he tosses her in he air and she squeals.
"Oh, you're getting bigger." He says and drops her while I follow gingerly behind, trying not to drop my jaw.
From the outside, the house blended in with other one-storey building houses but it was filled with antiques and paintings and beautiful artifacts and an amazing chandelier.
"What a beautiful home." I say and a deep chuckle replies me. I look up now and it feels like I'm staring at Nathan again.
But he has brown eyes.
More beards.
And is not as muscular, but he was definitely fit. Plus the corners of his eyes crinkled with his smile, giving him a warm, welcoming look.
"I'm Fredrick Jackson. Nathan's older brother or twin, you decide." He says as he shakes my hand warmly, with his pleasant smile but I'm finding it hard to maintain mine.
I turn to Nathan.
"Twins?" I ask and they both laugh.
"No, I'm kidding. It's a something we've joked about since we were kids. Nice to meet you Lunar." Fred says with his warm smile and I feel suddenly relaxed at how welcoming he is.
"It's nice to meet you too." I say as he holds my hand and leads me to the dining room where a lady is adjusting the cutlery.
She looks at me as I walk in.
"You must be Lunar." She says and I reach for a handshake but she pulls me into a hug instead.
"I'm Betty. I'm so glad to finally meet you." She says and pulls away a bit. From how close she is, I can see her clearly. Her blonde hair and her eyes and smile...She looked just like Emily.
"You know your name is quite popular here. Nathan and Emily just won't shut up about you." She says with a giggle and I smile.
"All good things I hope?" I say and she laughs.
"Of course. Nathan insists you're not a vegan so I hope you don't mind that we went a little crazy with the meat." She says, gesturing to the table and I stand in shock.
There's meatloaf, steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, grilled asparagus, chicken, shrimp cocktail and wine.
"I'm glad he remembered to add how much I love food." I joke as I turn to him.
He winks at me and suddenly I feel like melted chocolate.
He has to stop doing that. Especially now.
If not we might end up in the garage.
Or the bathroom.
Somewhere where I could moan his name in peace....
