Little by little she acquired information about Quinn from Pamela and discovered his enthusiasm for her.

She can't show up at the Reagans' doorstep just to declare motherhood.

She'd freak him out.

The neglected invitation card caught her eyes thus she smiled. Showing up on their doorstep wasn't such a bad idea.

After all, she was family maybe not anymore but they can't deny it.

There she was standing in front of the Reagans gate wondering why they moved out of their other resident, she didn't even know where Alvin lives.

The gatekeeper showed up by the gate to do his job.

" Who are you? She clicked her tongue scrutinizing the poor guy.

" Kate Patterson. I advise you to tell Mrs. Kang that I am here"

" I'm sorry Miss but no one is allowed to pass except family" Kate squinted her eyes peering into the compound.

" Let her know it's me. You don't want to be sorry later believe me" the gatekeeper was about to reply when Quinn walked in on their conversation.

" Is it Pamela? She .. ' the word died in his throat the moment he saw who it was.

The way she looked at him with warmth, admiration, tenderness, and euphoria told him the obvious.

She knows.

" Open the gate" he whispered as Kate found herself taking little steps towards him in remorse and hurt while Quinn's eyes turned watery as he ran into her arms.

" Mom!! Kate bent down to embrace him fully with muffled sobs overwhelmed.

She planted kisses all over his face. Took a closer look at him then pulled him into a warm crushing hug not that he was complaining.

He wiped the tears away from her eyes and kissed her cheeks.

" Don't cry unless I'll cry too" Kate chuckled trying to stop herself from crying.

" You're alive. My son is alive. OMG" her arms were wrapped around him possessively like someone who just found something that was lost.

" You won't believe how much I longed for this. A moment with you. My Simon is alive" though Quinn was confused but held onto her nevertheless wiping as many tears as he could while she sniffled.

" You're so adorable" he whimpered letting out all the pain he felt for years without her while she reassured him with whispers of love.

" I'm never leaving you again. You're not alone anymore" he raised his head to ask the very thing that has been bothering him.

" Why did you leave me? Kate stiffened contemplating a reply then Bianca walked in.

" What a wonderful reunion," she said bitterly thinking Quinn was mad at her for lying to him.

" I told you I have a mother. I knew she was my mother" Kate stopped him from moving forward caressing his hair but he insisted on taking her inside.

" Are you sure? Quinn held her hands leading her inside ignoring Bianca who snarled.

So much for being his grandmother.

Quinn showed Kate around the house telling her tales of his infancy and his connection with Naomi and how she almost killed him.

" When will your dad arrive?

" Dad doesn't live here but I can call him if you want"

" No need. Oh, Simon" she coos hugging him.

" I can't believe this is happening. My boy. My lovely boy" Quinn couldn't control the butterflies in his stomach as she coaxed him with sweet names.

No one has ever done that.

" Why are you bearing Norton?

" It was dad's request. I think it's a middle name or something. You can ask him"

" About that, your father and I aren't getting back together" he frowned removing his hands from hers astounded.

The move broke her heart as she pulled him closer placing his hands on hers then kissed it.

" He did something terrible. I can't forgive him for it. You will get to see him on holidays and breaks. Don't be sad we've been apart for five years now. There's nothing we can do about it" he twitched his mouth cupping her cheeks.

" Then he'll apologize. On his knees if necessary. Dad loves you even though he denies it. You hurt him by leaving' Kate scoffed wondering what he's been feeding their son.

But she'll spare him the details.

" That's because he hurt me gravely. You're too young to understand. Won't you like to meet my mom and my brother? Quinn's eyes lit up then his face fell on the realization that she was about to take him away from Alvin.

He wanted them to be a complete family.

Maybe it's his job to placate Kate to forgive Alvin and what better way than to live with her.

" That will be nice" Kate smiled widely which had him smiling.

At last, she recognized him.

Meanwhile, Genesis was busy terminating David's endorsement deals by offering a better proposal and strategy.

Sleeping had become dangerous for Alvin as he kept having nightmares about losing Quinn to Kate and he wasn't wrong hence Colt walked into his bedroom with a folder.

" Kate has requested custody for Quinn. She's allowing you to make it easy unless she takes it to court and one more thing your divorce second hearing is nigh" he announced taking the shabby-looking man in front of him into view. His beards were growing out, black eyes were visible too and his hair was disheveled.

He felt responsible for his condition.

" You should see her to discuss it. I'm sure she'll listen to you. You can't keep doing this to yourself. She won't know your intentions if you're here wasting away"

" Where do I start from? She hates me Colt. I've lost everything due to ignorance. If I was more discerning if I was one to listen to my heart if I had trusted in her love for me. I wouldn't be this miserable. Even if we get back together Kate isn't the same person I knew. She has this coldness in her eyes. It scares me Colt" he pats his shoulder in understanding it bothered him too.

" Then it's your duty to change that. Melt her frozen heart. You owe her so much. With Quinn by her side, it'll be easier than you think" Alvin sighed, closed his eyes, imagining her cold eyes.

" Thank you Colt"

" What about the custody?

" She doesn't need the papers. Quinn can live with her after I have confirmed David's death. I can't risk it"

" Good idea but I'm afraid she'll consent to it. You know how she is" he was about to say something when his phone rang.

" Yes mom," he said into the phone.

" Kate's here and Quinn seems to be familiar with her" Alvin's grip on the phone tightened then calmed down.

" I'm on my way" he slipped out of bed to freshen up.

" Is something wrong?

" Unless Kate's appearance in my dad's house is problematic then everything is fine"

" That was fast. She's desperate"

" That's because she knows my hands are tied" Colt couldn't help but laugh as it was rare to see a helpless Alvin and to think he was scared of her baffled him.

As long as he had learned from his mistakes. It was worth it.

On the couch was Quinn scrolling through Kate's phone in curiosity asking questions occasionally and noticed she was a simple person.

" How did you know I was your mother and why didn't you tell me? Quinn smirked proudly.

" Instincts and much research. You have got a smart boy as a son" she giggled seemingly impressed.

" Dad disapproved of it and it was the only way uncle Colton will keep it a secret. I'm sorry for hiding the truth from you. I guess I expected you to recognize me" Kate held his hands in guilt.

How could she have recognized a son she thought was dead.

" Why do you call me Simon? She tsked her tongue showing him her pregnancy photo.

" Your dad picked the name before you were born. Quinn is a beautiful name" he huffed.

" You can call me Simon I don't mind"

" Aww that's so sweet of you" she cooed pecking him.

" I'm so happy you're here Mom. I'm thrilled" she pulled him to her chest while he leaned on it caressing his hair.

" Always sweetie. I'll always be here for you" that brought a smile to his lips as he dozed off while she smiled watching him sleep.

Her life had a meaning despite the coldness and bitterness. She had a chance at redemption.
