Louis was helping out in running the resort and the hotel management that had Kate wondering why he wasn't at the hospital working or rather saving lives thus she sat on the stool by the bar table staring at him.

" Take a picture it'll last longer" he winked at her.

' is that what you tell my employees?

' It depends. You seem to be less busy today. Wanna hang out?

' well, I'll like a glass of vodka please" he smiled pouring her some.

" So why are you here busy sister"

" To evaluate. What happened to your work? The last time I checked you were a doctor, not a bartender he shrugged labeling some wine then placed them on the wine cellar.

" I'm taking a timeout. From everything. And I want to spend it with the one that loves me the most" her face scrunched up in confusion.

She didn't believe a word he said.

" What about Mom?

" She's fine believe me. Her diabetes is gone. Did I tell you about her work? She has reopened her diner. You can invest in it " she twitched her mouth finding it reasonable.

" Are you sick again Louis? He tensed up blinked his eyes then found something to do by rearranging the wine on the cellar.

" No Kate. I'm just tired of living in Jamaica. I know I'm a grown man now but I prefer living with you. So I'm going to buy a house for us sis" she chuckled amused then sipped her drink.

" Such a big boy. Is that all?

" Yeah. You asked me. You do know I love you right?

" Umm"

" What really happened between you and Alvin?

" There's nothing to tell. It didn't work out between us. We both made mistakes. Him more than me. I'm famished" she exclaimed avoiding his prying eyes.

Cynthia tossed restlessly all night recalling Quinn's statement. Was she that awful to him? She couldn't help herself knowing who his mother was.

Thus she slipped out of bed to see Alvin and met him by the deck with his hands on the bars.

" Don't tell me you want to jump because of some challenges? She taunts running a hand on his hard muscles

" Got to sleep, Cynthia. I've other things to worry about"

" Perhaps I can help" she whispered turning him to face her.

" There's nothing you can do to help"

" What about revealing Quinn's existence to her? She'll be interested" he glared at her yanking her hands off him.

" Don't go there. She'll hate me more. With David by her side she might take him away from me or she might forgive me and we'll be a family once again" Cynthia frowned wriggling the thought out of her head.

" Then what?

" I guess I'm about to lose all my wealth as they anticipated. What! You look scared. I'll be a broke impotent man. You don't want that do you? He smirked as she winced.

He knew she wanted him because of his influence.

" That's not going to happen and you're not impotent. You just haven't tried"

" Is that all you picked from what I've been saying? He asked disappointed and disgusted.

" Yeah. I'm here to warn you about Naomi. She's like that with Quinn because she doesn't know who his mother is. I assure you, she'll never accept him as her son knowing how much you love his mom"

" I'll take my chances with that and I'm not remarrying anyone. Got that? He stated walking out on her as she shrugged.

" Fine by me cutie"

Kate was standing by Carla's diner hoping to get some positive information from her but didn't expect Pamela to run to her.

" Auntie, mom has been waiting for you" Kate raised her brow crouching by her side to match her height.

" Really?

' it's our secret. She said you're my late uncle's woman. Is that true?

" Did she now?

' you're so beautiful. I'm going to be prettier when I grow up" Kate couldn't help but laugh at her childish words.

' yes you will"

" Miss, do you have a son? She asked taking her features into view. She reminded her of someone.

Kate was about to answer her when Carla cleared her throat to make her presence known.

" Hi, Carla" Kate stated standing up from squatting while Carla sneered taking her overall outfit into view. The body she seduced her late brother with.

' I'm almost done with the company. You'll have it in a few weeks. Can we talk? She said trailing to sit down.

" Fine. Pamela goes to your room" she ordered as she whined but Left anyway which was kind of cute to Kate.

' she's a fragile girl Carla. Take it easy with her"

" Don't tell me how to raise my daughter clearly your mother condoned your slutty behavior and that led to my brother's death. Here you are still breathing by jumping into the next available man" Kate was done been nice as she revealed her arrogance.

" My mom never thought me how to ridicule other mothers. I assume you're still a virgin. I know you've never had a one-night stand with a stranger. If yes, just how much do you know about them? she paused then continued satisfied with her reaction.

" No wonder you lost the company you don't think before you act. No sense of direction. I guess that's where Dante comes in. Right? Carla gritted her teeth fuming with the polite sarcasm.

" Are you here to insult me?

" No. I stated facts now back to where we left off. Before Dante died, he had evidence that will be helpful in my divorce case and I assume you know where he is. I need those videos and records. It's mine' Carla glared at her like she was speaking a foreign language and hissed.

"You're shameless but I'll give it to you when my company is back to me. Now, if you will excuse me. I have something doing "

" I know. Just get them ready. Maybe I can leave you to the diner business. You seem to like it" Carla's face fell realizing she might have been too rude.

" I'll get them ready' she said softly as Kate smiled staring at her in submission.

" Okay. In the meantime, I am hungry"

" Fine, what do you want? She asked politely fiddling with her hands.

" Is there something you want from me? She asked being a good observer, she knew she had a favor to ask.

" Can you revive Dante's law firm? It was his life-saving. He worked hard for it" she was glad she asked.

" Okay. I'll see what I can do" that earned her a smile from Carla as she dashed inside to prepare some food for her but stopped to say a few words.

" And you can come to visit whenever you like. Kate! She exclaimed as she hummed.

" I didn't mean to arrest you. I was grieving my only sibling. You've no idea how much I loved him. He was everything to me" she was gone before Kate could reply but she'd understand.

Having a little brother who wasn't so little anymore that she loves. She could relate. She'd do the same for her sweet brother.
