She ran a hand through her hair in frustration cursing herself for being so stupid.

Why couldn't she notice it earlier? Alvin's love for the little boy was undeniably concerning yet it didn't bother her thinking he was trying to heal from grief but why will he lie to her about it.

Because you're Kate's friend' she reminded herself.

No wonder Cynthia despises him.

But why was David asking her about him? Whatever it was he meant no good then she heard his voice from the phone.

" Did you zone out on me young lady? She cleared her throat to reply to him when Cynthia spoke.

" What are you doing here? She quickly cut the call to meet the eyes of the interrupter and sneered at her discovery.

" And who is asking?

" Why are you snooping around? You don't want him to find out about it do you? She taunts walking towards her.

" I have nothing to hide Cynthia. So mind your business"

" I can't believe what Alvin has turned me into. First, it was a girl from the slums now it's a traitor who wants her friend's man. Seriously?

" Say whatever you want. I am going nowhere. Alvin isn't going marry you as long as I live. I'm sure you know why witch" Cynthia was about to retaliate when Quinn stepped inside smiling.

" Dad wanna take us for a tour. I know you don't want to miss it" he said excitedly as Naomi smiled trailing after him while Cynthia gritted her teeth walking angrily to the podium and met Alvin and Tate arguing about something.

" Dad we're ready"

" See what I meant" Tate stated grinning sheepishly.

" The captain will do the tour. Your dad isn't a spectator trust me" he added scooping him off his feet to see the sea properly.

" Wanna go the deck? Quinn nods excitedly looking forward to it while Alvin scoffed then the captain appeared to show them around.

" Alvin, I'll like to talk to you" Cynthia requested which had him staying behind while Naomi followed Quinn for the tour conflicted to observe him closely just to be sure.

" I learned you removed a huge amount of money from the pharmaceutical industry"

" So? It's my money. I needed it"

" Fifteen billion dollars Alvin. That company is about to wreck. How could you take such an amount of money from it knowing how much income it generates annually"

" Watch your mouth, Cynthia. I needed the money. I don't need to explain myself to you. Has it come to this? Then it's time to change the director of my companies. What audacity! He snapped as Cynthia tried to apologize.

" I'm not questioning you about it. I'm just saying. This isn't good and to think Kate is demanding alimony. I had to do something"

" What did you do?

" I sent for your father. Alvin, we're losing good money. Your companies are crumbling one after the other. We need help. Our board members are anxious and ready to leave if there's no solution"

" What can my dad do? I know this is a hard time for us but you've to endure it. I'm sorting it out" Cynthia held his hands with concern

' what's going on Alvin? It's Kate, isn't it? She's responsible for everything. You know people. Put her in her place. Have her kidnapped and locked in a dark room. I know she's the mother of your child, so you can't kill her. I advise you to lock her in a mental home. I think she has gone crazy for ruining her son's future"

Alvin released his hands from her to hold the pole staring into the calm yet dangerous sea.

"It's my choice to make. You can leave as well if you can't stand it. Kate's not to blame"

" Have you seen the news? Your airlines have stopped functioning including the ports and subway. What's going on? Talk to me perhaps my dad can help" she pleaded leaning on his back.

' like he'll be happy to help. He has a grudge against me remember"

" Then let's get back together. Dad will like that" Alvin stepped away from the pillar running a hand through his hair in confusion.

" I am married to Kate Cynthia. I love my wife. You had four years to change my mind yet you couldn't. Face the truth you don't know me. So stop trying. We're not compatible. Heaven knows I have no desire for you. Stop wasting your youth over me"

' that's not your call to make. Remember the first time we kissed? You said something that day that swept me off my feet. I'm hooked, Alvin. Kate isn't your wife but a whore who is probably sleeping with David as we speak. Don't be delusional. You don't need her" she coaxed then the trio walked in exhausted after the tour.

He maintained his looks to impress Quinn after giving her the face that meant she should drop it.

" Quinn needs some rest. Aren't you hungry son? He touched his stomach and nods.

" Naomi c'mon let's eat with daddy after all you're going to be his wife" Cynthia squinted her eyes at him but calmed down waiting for Alvin's response.

' you think? Alvin responded hauling him off the ground then walked into the ship while Cynthia and Naomi exchanged glances.

With Tates scrutinizing eyes Alvin could tell he had something on his mind thus encouraged him.

" Say it"

" What's going on Alvin? He asked following his gaze to see Naomi playing games with Quinn.

" I don't understand"

' what's happening to your companies and ports? Is someone targeting you? Is it David again?

" Yes, Tate and Kate is helping him. My heart is breaking at her decision though it was My fault. I shouldn't have told her Quinn died" his eyes fell but smiled as he heard Quinn's laughter from a distance.

" There's a solution right? Just kiss her lungs out I'm sure she'll forgive you. That lady loves you" he met his eyes wondering how Tate knew about it yet he was blinded by anger to see past the heaviness of his heart.

" coax her maybe. Reveal David's plans to her but I need someone in doing so. Do you know of any? Cos I can't afford a secret agent at the moment"

" Just how much have you lost to her revenge?

" Enough to make me broke" he admitted.

" Well, there's a guy actually. He's good at what he does. Sneaking around and all. It depends"

" He doesn't have to snoop. I need him beside him that's all" Tate smirked.

" That's easy. I'll put him on the phone. You're going to be impressed"

" So, what's up with you and Naomi? You do know she's Kate's friend right?

" She likes him a lot. Quinn wants her as his stepmother. I think he's doing it to please me. He asked for a photo of Kate once"

" What a filial son you have got. I know you don't want to remarry. That reminds me what about the divorce case?

" I didn't sign it. She was disrespectful"

' or you couldn't do it' Tate corrected as he watched Quinn and Naomi once more.

" You don't know how much I want that with Kate. A family. With lots of kids from the woman, I love"

" She's going to forgive you. Be patient. It wasn't your fault. He took advantage of your new relationship after all you didn't know Kate much before the proposal"
