The dean of the hospital decided to speak at this point.

" Miss Kate, we delivered your baby indeed but his corpse was handed to your husband as you were unconscious. I think there's a misunderstanding somewhere. I suggest you speak with him. We've no case here" after much thinking she decided to withdraw the lawsuit. They were right, Alvin knew what happened to their son.

" That can be accomplished but if I find out you're deliberately lying to me, I'll be back and this time there won't be negotiations" they hum as she stepped out of the room.

Perhaps she was asking the wrong people.

Naomi held Quinn's hands as they sauntered into Alvin's house to meet him in the living room smoking. He quickly disposed of it glaring daggers at Naomi who shrieked in fear.

" Dad, what's that? Quinn asked covering his nose from the offensive smell while Alvin gulped a glass of red wine to prevent its smell guiding him to another living room.

" Something I do when I'm lonely. How was school? He asked staring at Kate's matching eyes in Quinn and pulled him into a hug while Quinn pats his back hugging him tightly.

" School was fine. Dad, I can live here if you're lonely. Naomi is here too. How can you be lonely? Alvin chuckled disengaging from him amused.

" I'm great son" he stated ruffling his hair wondering if he was doing the right thing. He could have the perfect family he wanted. Kate was back and still loves their son.

" I love you, son," he tells him standing up then met Naomi's eyes.

" My mom allowed you into our house?

" No, I picked him from school. I missed him so much" she said truthfully smiling at Quinn.

" I see. He's living with my parents for now. Don't do it again" her smile faded certainly he was serious.

" Okay... We bought tickets for a movie. Quinn wants you to come along. That's why we're here" she informed him as Quinn held his hands in confirmation.

" It's a new movie please Dad. I want to go with you and Naomi. We'd look like a family" his eyes darted to his and frowned in displeasure.

" We're not a family Quinn. It's just you and I forever. How many times will I tell you this? He snapped

" Well, I want a mother Dad. I know a woman gave birth to me. I also know she left us that doesn't change anything. I want my mom. I want to hear from her. Maybe she was scared" he retorted as Alvin and Naomi widened their eyes in shock.

" Quinn, I'm sorry I yelled. Let's go watch that movie please I don't want to talk about that woman. I thought you're happy with me"

' I am Dad. I want you to be happy, I don't want you to stop having fun because of me. As long as she's nice to me plus she makes you happy. I'll accept her. If you had a wife or a girlfriend you wouldn't be lonely' he coerced as Alvin squinted his eyes certain someone said those lines to him. He looked at a stunned Noami who shrugged cluelessly then faced Quinn.

" I'm good son. I don't need a woman but if you think you want a mother then I'll remarry for your sake. Let daddy know if you find a suitable woman" he stated as Quinn's eyes lit up in ecstasy smiling at him.

" Really Dad? I'll keep an eye out for them" Alvin chuckled grabbing his jacket.

" Let's go. We don't want to be late, do we? He jumped up in ecstatic holding Naomi's hands oblivious to the fact that she wasn't happy about his refusal to pick her.

She treated him well.

"Dad, I met a beautiful girl in school" Alvin narrowed his eyes in curiosity.

" Really? And you like this girl? He asked jokingly. Everyone once had a crush.

" She's not bad. She's always staring at me like I'm some alien'

" Did she now? I think she admires you. Not many can withstand cuties like us" he bragged as Quinn nods in understanding.

" Don't mind your dad. She's just shy to talk to you. You can invite her over for lunch next time" Naomi tells him as Quinn gleamed.

' really? Dad, can I ? Alvin gave his permission.

" Dad, I have the perfect mother. Naomi will do. She takes good care of me and I think you like her too"

" You think? Keep looking to be sure" he hummed as colt walked to them before they could leave.

" There's something you need to see"

' have it sorted out. I'm busy" he tells him.

' it's about Kate" he paused on hearing her name and turned to his son.

" Quinn, I'll meet you at the cinema"

" Okay. Don't be late" he crossed his heart while walking into the house to his office to hear him out.

" I'm listening" he stated lighting a cigarette and took a drag of it.

" About the truck that hit Kate's car years ago, I've gotten my hands on the footage" Alvin disposed of the cigarette on the ashtray to take a closer look. Their accident had disturbed him as he was certain he told them to spare their lives.

" Who are they? He asked as Colt zoomed in on their faces.

" I don't know. Dante Lorenzo saved Kate from taking the hit. Who did this? Colt informed making copies of it.

" Hmmm. I'll have it sent to Cobra for an inspection. He'll know" Alvin suggested leaning on the chair then stood up.

" Is that all?

" Kate has withdrawn the lawsuit from the hospital" he smiled certain she couldn't bear to hurt them. Same old Kate.

" Why is she here? Colton asked himself rather than him.

" To see Simon according to her. His gravesite like I have one. She's delusional" he tells Colton

" What do we do?

" Nothing of course. She can't do anything"

" What about the divorce?

" I'll grant it. Quinn said he needs a mother"

" Are you divorcing his biological mother to remarry those golddiggers? Colt inquired astounded.

" She's not his mother as far as I'm concerned. She's dead to us and I can't let her into my life again. That whore" he said bitterly.

" But Quinn does. He needs her Sir. I know I don't like Kate but she's a victim of circumstances. David approached her to get to you. He's using her to stimulate you. He knows how much she means to you. He separated you guys remember? He made you scorn her. You're his target and Kate's the only way he can truly hurt you" Alvin took his seat listening to his blabbering.

" He hasn't made a move. She chose him" he defended

" Because you arrested her. David knew how short-tempered you are. He's smart."

" Are you saying I should take her back?

" Let her know about Quinn. No need to fight. You don't have to make such a decision for him"

" She slept with someone else and came to me. She made a fool out of me"

" I agree but that's not the case. David is up to something. Take a look at this, for the past few days he has been visiting every mob in the mafia world soliciting with them. Creating an alliance. Sir, we're losing Allies. If he succeeds in doing so, he can easily kill you and covet your properties including your wife. He'd subject her to a life of tyranny. Remember he engaged Maya your ex thinking you might intervene but nothing. Then he came back for Kate. Please listen to me. She might be the key to overthrowing you "

' I know you love her. I've been with you every step of the way. I know you need her. She needs you more than ever. Kate is trapped in a war she knows nothing of and I think Quinn can do that. Bring her out of it "

' Colt, my son will not be a part of this craziness. Kate's problem is none of my business. If David wants me dead I'd be dead already. There's nothing to lose. Leave Quinn out of this. Kate's is not seeing my son. As for the truck drivers. I'll find them and get to the bottom of this. I'm not scared to die' he concluded as Colt gritted his teeth.

" And the mobs?

" Do nothing. I want proof. We'll talk another day. Quinn is expecting me" with that said he was out of the door while Colt stared at the men in the truck certain they worked with David. He planned everything.

Alvin is blinded by love to notice his scheme. David is plotting his doom using Kate as a pawn. The perfect pawn but not on his watch.
