-5-Dinner with Beggar-2

"No matter what ‘home’ means to you, there is surely something nostalgic about the place we call home. It’s the place where we eat, the place with friends and family, decorations that help remind us of special memories and it’s the place we make our own. "

She rubbed her eyes and looked around, the living room sure had changed since the morning.

Christian's innocent and warm smile dazzled Riley and for a while, her eyes were enthralled by his beauty. Looking at him, she was struck by a familiar feeling, which was too fleeting to be noticed even by herself.

A weird sound broke the fleeting silence between Christian and Riley. Her face flushed when she saw an understanding smile creeping on Christian's face.

"Are you laughing at me? Didn't you know that it is normal for one's stomach to rumble when starving? I haven't eaten since morning!" Riley said angrily.

Hearing her words Christian said guiltily "Well I know that Riley, And Sorry!"

"Sorry?" Riley muttered confusingly.

"It is my fault, That I failed to feed you!" Christian tried to apologize.

"No..No it's okay Mindy. It isn't your fault." Riley muttered smiling.

"Purr.."

The sound came out of Riley's belly again that she got embarrassed and gently rubbed her belly.

The sweet smell of food filled the room, and Riley's mouth watered as soon as the smell reached her.

"Riley, Freshen up I will set the table!" Christian said lovingly.

She went straight to the bedroom, however, she was surprised. The bedroom was renovated beautifully. The brand new queen-sized bed sat in the middle of the room with white bed covers laying on top, the wall to the right was covered with posters, and their kissing picture was placed on a desk in the corner. The opposite side had a new closet and on the left side was the bathroom.

She then headed to The bathroom, which looked Completely different, now. She felt guilty. Just where did he get so much money? How can a beggar afford to pay for all this! Yet, The idea that someone can do so much for her especially when he is so poor even for almost a fake marriage made her heart flutter. Riley was confused? But she wasn't only impressed, she was depressed too.

Maybe If she didn't love Stuart, she would have wanted the same husband she now had.

She was so lost in her thoughts that Beggar's voice brought her out of her daze "Riley. Come out!" to which she muttered a low " Yes" and then headed to the bathroom.

When Riley moved towards the living room, She just saw Beggar waiting for her with a table full of food happily. It almost looked too nostalgic.

As they were just strangers yesterday and now he was waiting for her with heated food wearing messy yet warm clothes.

Because In November, the days become shorter and turn gray as the transition to winter continues. The early mornings become chillier than daytime, and the overall temperatures drop to a mildly cold between 5°C and 12°C. The nights feel chiller and longer with the average daylight hours remaining at ten on most days in November.

Snow is not rare and may be experienced in small amounts towards the end of the month.

The sun shines for an average of only six hours a day, but the climate still feels just warm enough as winter approaches.

As the night was chilly Riley had even brought a shawl to cover herself from cold.

But seeing him waiting for her silently, she hesitated to ruin the silence between them. Nevertheless, Christian saw her and said in a loving, tone

"Honey, come here! Dinner is ready, Come on try it!"

Riley felt her heart flutter with his words, He was doing magic on her.

She didn't even know why? She suddenly felt shy! and she didn't even understand herself, Why she would be shy?

Her train of thoughts came to an end when Christian brought her to the table that was set beautifully.

He gently placed food on her plate and urged her to eat, She couldn't resist the temptation of food, let alone she was hungry now!

So she opened her mouth and started eating. Each dish was too delicious to waste. And the egg benedict was the best thing she ever ate in her life.

Seeing her eating like a pig, Christian smiled. He felt too happy to say anything. He always considered Riley his blessing so he wanted to share everything that he had with her. 'Alas! just wait for a few days baby. then you won't have to do a thing' Christian thought while admiring her

..After some pondering, Riley decided to question him.

"I...I wanted to ask you something Mindy, " Riley said Seriously.

Christian frowned and said thoughtfully.

"No, Honey. First, finish your meal.

Then we will talk."

To which Riley answered, in a small "Okay."

When they were done eating.

Christian stared at her and asked

"How was the food? Did you like it, honey?"

Riley burped and nodded shyly. Then swallowing small sips of water she answered truthfully,

"I loved it. Mindy, it was delicious. However, the best dish was the egg benedict. Thank you for all the hard work."

Christian was satisfied with her answer. 'huh so she loved what I made for!' it was as if the whole rejection of him and the news, his reputation everything was forgiven.

Soon after, He smiled at her but said nothing.

Riley wanted to wash the dishes. However Christian didn't allow her to do that.

"Let me help you, Mindy," Riley said gently.

"No Riley. You should go and Wait for me in the bedroom. We will talk after I will be done with it." Christian said with bright eyes.

Feeling very tired, Riley closed her eyes and decided to not argue with him on such a trivial matter.

He never wanted her to do those things. When he was here. Finally, She is his Queen now, what was the use of it will be. if she will have to do all the housework. Even if he is pretending to be a beggar. He will never let her do these things. She will live the most graceful life Christian promised himself.
