Chapter 55: Chapter 55
As they walk over to the car, William leans against it before placing his hands on her waist, pulling her close to his chest so she has her hands resting on his hard chest while he smiles at her. He wonders what it would be if he had met her in a different circumstances? Would things have been different if she was his wife? He has never felt this happy with anyone before and the thought of her leaving him, scares him. She raises her lashes to look at him and could see his conflicted expression.
"Are you okay?" She asks.
"Yeah, I am." He nods tucking her hair behind her ear.
"You seem lost in thought, are you sure?" She asks.
He shakes his head, "Yes yes. Where would you like to go?" He asks her.
She looks away moving her eyes from side to side. Where would she want to go? She doesn't have any idea of a place, she doesn't mind going to a quiet place where she can just sit down and converse with him like the last time. It actually felt nice.
"It's already getting dark. We could just take a walk." She says in a soft voice.
He smiles, "What place do you have in mind?"
She pauses. She has never gone on a proper date before and so, she has no idea what places would be best. She would suggest to visit a bookstore but she doesn't know if he would like that. What if he finds it boring? How about an art museum? Nah.
William lifts her chin to face him. "Tell me what's on your mind." He says in almost a whisper.
She looks at him. "I.." She sighs. "Why don't you do the picking today? We can visit a bookstore or a cinema some other time, if you like."
He smiles and brushes his finger against her cheeks. "Is that what you want?"
She nods, "Yes."
He smiles widely. It feels so nice hearing her say next time. That means she would like to spend time with him again.
"I want to watch a movie with you, but not at the cinema." He says to her in a low voice before moving to open the door.
"Come on." He gestures for her to enter into the car. She enters and he slides in with her shutting the door gently.
She wonders where they're headed as the car starts to move through road.
"Where are we watching the movie if not the cinema?" She asks looking at him.
"My house, the one I go to when I need my space."
She smiles, "Oh. It's very quiet there."
"You like it there?"
She nods,"It's lovely and peaceful. Thanks for allowing me there."
He tilts his head, "What's there to thank me for?"
"It's like um, it's like your own private place, like, your place of peace of mind and not everyone would bring anyone to invade that."
He grins, "You're not anyone, darling." He reaches for her hand and engulfs it with his. "You're the girl I like, so that means, you're special to me."
She stares at him before shyly looking down at their hands while he rests his head against the chair staring at her. Then, his phone starts to ring and he pulls it out of his pocket to glance at her. Ella's name pops up on the screen and he sighs before hanging up.
Kemi looks up at him." Is everything okay?" She asks.
He nods, "Yeah, of course. All is cool."He takes out the phone to text Ella before putting the phone back into his pocket. Then, the phone starts to ring again and Kemi's eyes travel down to his pockets where the phone is.
"Shouldn't you just answer it?"
He looks at her before looking down at his pocket. He shakes his head, "Nah, don't worry. It's not important."
She purses her lips and nods as she wonders who could be calling him. Is it about work? She knows he says it's not important but the phone keeps ringing and ringing over again.
He smiles at her before taking out the phone again from his pocket to look at it. It's still Ella and he is sure she just wants to nag or rant like a kid to him. He has already sent her a text that he's busy and she still keeps calling.
After a while, they arrive at his other house and he leads her inside over to his home theater. Her eyes meet the white screen, the velvet curtains, and the colored low round lights in the room, and she stares at them with a smile. How can something so beautiful be in a person's house?
"Come." He says taking her hands before leading her over to one of the soft chairs. She sits down with her hands on her thighs.
"I'll be back." William says before walking out of the room. She fixes her eyes on the screen which turns on, booting.
Minutes later, he returns carrying drinks along with popcorns. He hands over a drink and a popcorn to her before sitting beside her.
"What do we watch?" He asks her taking up the remote control.
"Anything but action movies " She replies with a shrug.
He turns to her, "You don't watch action movies?"
"No."
"So you only watch romance then." He smiles.
"Not only romance movies though. I also watch fantasies."
He grins, "Okay then. Let's see." He lifts up the remote control and searches through the channels.

"Do you think the girl will die?." She asks 30 minutes into the movie while dipping her hand into the popcorn. They are watching a movie where the strongest powerful man in a planet who doesn't believe in love finally falls in love with a weak girl who has no powers in the planet.
He shrugs, "I don't know, let's watch and see."
She shakes her head, "No, do you think she would die? Give an answer without waiting to watch the end." She presses on.
"I don't know. She probably won't since he's powerful enough to protect her. Isn't that what happens in all movies? It always ends happily."
She sighs and shakes her head at him. "It's not always the case."
"Heh. Yes it is. They either die together holding hands or get married and gives birth to little happy kids." He shrugs.
She turns to him and folds her hands across her chest. "Well I think the girl will..." He quickly covers her mouth his hand.
"Don't say it, you'll spoil it." He says.
She grins," The girl will..."
He cover her mouth again, "Don't say it, stop. It will spoil the movie."
She chuckles into his hands and as soon as he moves his hand away, she starts saying. "I thought you already know what would happen.Well, the girl will..." She attempts to say it again but he covers her mouth and this time, not with his hands. Her eyes grow wide as she feels his lips on hers. He opens his lips biting her lower lips gently before his hot tongue explores her mouth.
Then he pulls away and gives her a slight smile, stroking her hair.
Her cheeks flush, "I don't know what will happen but I think she will die." She says in a low voice.
He grins tilting his head to her. "Why do l feel you have watched it before?"
"No I haven't, but I just have the feeling. I was only joking, I actually have no idea what will happen to her."
He chuckles, "Well, I think she won't die. He would probably save her with his powers and they would live happily ever after. That's what happens in every movies."
He shrugs. "It's not always the case." She disagrees.
"Oh really? What does the winner get?"He asks staring at her.
She moves her eyes away from the movie to look at him. "Winner? What winner?"
"Let's see if she dies or not. If I'm right, what do l get?"
She folds her hands across her chest. "And if I'm right?"
He leans close to her and she stares at him. He moves his lips close to her ear before whispering. "I will tell if you're right."
He moves away smiling at her.
She smiles and nods, "Deal."
He squints his eyes, "Deal? It's no deal yet until you tell me what I'm getting if I'm right." He says pouting like a baby.
She bit her lower lips as she wonders what to say. He leans close to her again showing his ear to her gesturing for her to whisper it.
She moves her face close to his ear. "I'Il tell you if you're right."
He chuckles hearing her repeat what he said.
40 minutes later......
She stares at the screen smiling broadly as the movie ends. Just like she said, the girl in the movie did die along with the powerful boy who loves her. They had both died holding hands l, lying next to each other.
He stares at the screen with a frown on his face,"I need to meet the director of this movie, he should be arrested."
Kemi laughs lightly hearing him say that."Just accept that you lost. You should have listened to me earlier." She says proudly before turning to him. "l won, so what do l get?"
Suddenly, he slowly leans close to her pinning her between his arms.He stares at her with a grin on his face. He moves his face close to hers and gently kisses her cheeks before moving away. She watches him sit up with a puzzled expression. She had thought that he wanted to kiss her but he didn't. She shakes her head abruptly when she realizes she is actually disappointed that he didn't kiss her?
Just as she is about sitting back properly, he suddenly grabs her waist, pulling her close to his arms. She gapes at him with her hands resting on his chest. He places her head gently on his chest before stroking her hair.
"What do you hate most?" He asks her as he continues to stroke her hair.
She gulps surprised at his question, "What I hate most?" She asks again and he nods in affirmation. She lowers her eyes in thought. What she hates most?
"I can recall when my daddy told me he got a job that would assist our family big time..." She starts to say. "At the end, it turned out that the so called job is gambling. I felt so happy when he said he found the job and it gave me hope that things would be better.." She sighs before adding on. "You could say l hate lots of things in this life but I think I hate it more when I'm being lied to. It's better to hurt me with the truth than make promises you can't keep...My father has done that a lot. "She looks at him. " I think 80 percent of my life, I've been lied to. My family, my friends..." She shrugs. "All of them has done nothing but lie.." She smiles faintly. "I have been hurt by it too much."
He swallows hard as she finishes while staring at her. Then he moves his eyes away from hers as guilt rushes over him. She hates being lied to and that's exactly what he's doing. He's giving her false hopes when he's already married, that's something no one can take. She stares at him wondering why his expression changed. Did she say too much? Did she say something wrong?
"Are you okay?" She asks trying to get back his attention and he turns to her.
He smiles slightly, "Yeah, I am."
"What about you? What do you hate most?" She asks him.
He stares at her holding her more tightly as if scared she would disappear if he lets go.
"Me?..." He sighs before continuing. "I guess I hate it when things don't go my way. I hate to lose, it makes me go crazy."
She nods slowly, "I see."
"You could say I have hated a lot of things, because nothing always seem to go my way..." He adds. " It's really, really, hateful." He says smiling slightly at her but she could see a glimpse of sadness in his eyes before it disappears turning into a wide smile as if it was never there.
He looks at her with admiration, "I'm so happy you gave me a chance to spend time with you. Thank you for sharing things about yourself to me. I really mean it when I say I like you Kemi." He tucks her hair behind her ear. "I guess I have liked you for a long time but it took me long to realize it. We may have started wrongly but I want to make up for my wrongs. "He says to her as he stares at her lovingly.
She stares at him without saying anything, then she slowly reaches for his face before her eyes spots a scar close to his neck. It's very faint and one could miss it if not looking closely. She trails her finger over it gently.
"What happened to your neck?" She asks narrowing her eyes.
His expression changes immediately into a hard one. She knows at once that it isn't something he wants to talk about.
He covers his expression with a smile. "Since I lost, I should give you something." He says changing the topic.
She moves her eyes away from his neck without pressing further and smiles. "Okay."
